Midwest female angler just trying to share my journey with fishing and living full time in my camper. I'll have unboxings, fishing vids, kayaking videos, full time camper life, and backpack camping adventures. Just trying to share my passions and what I learn along the way!
About me!? I'm a full time engineer at the railroad. That has given me some pretty awesome travel experiences. Started living full time in my camper Oct of 21, traveled for work, fished in so many different states. I decided I wanted to share some of my adventures and journeys along the way. I'm no expert, just really trying to spread the joy and relaxation you can get from fishing and being outdoors. It has done wonders for my mental health and fighting boredom on the road! Hope y'all enjoy the content!

Black Friday Haul Unboxing!! 6th Sense and Googan Baits!
I have been experimenting off grid for a year now, my trailer is a 2 season 28ft and externally insulated with reflectix, half done the 2nd layer today, last year a low of -27F -33C and my primary heater was a 350w omni heater plus 40 mins of my 1500w. My basement with no heat was a low of 33.6F. Now you have a good idea of what I have the new upgrade could work well for you, my entire underside is airtight, this year I added a under rug heater , I put it on some flooring over the reflectix bottom, The Rug buddy is 170w 4kwh , with just the 170w heater it was 23F -5C for 10 hours, the basement was 64.4F 18C , bedroom was 68F 20C , Try tuck tape repair tape, clear and nothing pealed even on the roof after a year of -33 to 40C. If you want to try reflectix I already came up with a plan to bypass the insulated floor with no mods.
I'll keep you warm
Great video, I’m thinking the tape comes loose around the foam boards due to the camper rocking when walking inside etc
What kind of tape are you using?
what about condensation issues? i hear campers sweat indoors.
Research Vevor Diesel Heater. Propane causes condensation. They are also super efficient.
Nice!
Hi I really miss you're videos I hope all es good with you thanks.
Thank you for the video and putting us at ease. We are in Macon Mo and needing to spend the winter here due to medical reasons, you have helped put our mind at ease knowing that it can be done. Now I need to find a local propane company to cone set us up a tank and get the supplies to skirt out TT.
very nice trailer and lot and how you got it set up, i see your in process of making the trim and everything, should look very exelant later on, let me know if theres any lots that do 5th wheels, like beast 5th wheels
You did a fantastic job! 🎉🎉🎉 Your video has been extremely helpful. Continued blessings!😊😊
Glad to hear it thank you for the positive feedback
I like that camper
OMG!!! WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS TO THIER BODY??????? OH MY!!!
In my opinion, I would have installed J-channel all the way around the bottom and intalled skirting as needed. No tape to mess up the trailer. Then when you want to move, remove the skirt, move the trialer, reinstall the skirt, good to go.
Your living… I’m impressed !! Great job
What size propane tank do you have there
120 lb
@@WanderingDryad-we6sythat's 120 gallon.
Pretty clever and cost effective. Where there is a will there's a way my mom always said.
Where is the link for the thermometer please 🙏
Loctite it....
Would you recommend wrapping the hoses in insulation? I have mine parked next to a connex to help prevent wind chill but this will be my first winter in a 3 season so I'm trying to do anything and everything to prep it for the colder months
Can anyone tell me what kind of insulation to buy? We're in the Portland, Oregon area. I dont really know what thickness, and im assuming it comes with the reflective covering?
Yes it comes with the reflective covering. I've used different thicknesses. I have heard the thickness doesn't really matter is more about keeping air out and a barrier for wind etc. I used 1in one year then 1/2 in next year. The 1/2 worked just as good and was cheaper
@WanderingDryad-we6sy Thank-you so much. My daughter can't afford her rent any more and we have a 5th wheel she's going to live in so she still feels like she has her own space. Rents are crazy here and going up all the time, so we feel blessed to b able to have her home, and be able to give her a break. Winter here is usually not so bad, but last year it actually hit -2°. I just want to be prepared, just in case.
Yes times are changing rapidly. This past winter got down to neg 10 here in mo. I had the 1/2in insulation board and it worked just fine. Only issue I had was bottoms of my black and gray water tanks froze on lower part of drain out point. So I just sealed everything back up put a heater under and waited for it to thaw. It only happened 1 time all winter.
Why don’t you use heavy duty industrial grade Velcro for your panel around camper?
I have the same unit and my decals are also peeling. Thinking I'm gonna take it all off and do a custom decal. Thanks for that AC thermostat tip, too. I've been considering relocating mine, but you just gave me a simpler idea.
Yes the peeling decals is annoying I even got a protection plan on mine but really don't feel like hauling it into the shop for just that. The thermostat works that way most of the time or I just turn it off and back on and it will fix itself.
Great video
What do you use at your water connection to the trailer for your city water connection
@RunawayRv just a filter and water safe hose. Fill the fresh water tank and disconnect everything after. Haven't had any freezing issues doing it that way.
Thanks. Looking to get into this pretty soon.
Awesome video. 🙏🙏 Im going to have to move to a friend's house but there's not enough room inside. Im moving there to help support my buddy's wife while he's in prison so she doesn't loose the property and i either have to convert the garage to a living space or live in a camper outside. Those are really the only two options other than buying a shed and insulating it. Do you have any ideas other than what I mentioned?
Do You have water running to the camper or you filling fresh water tank during the winter?
Filling fresh water tank then disconnecting everything and sealing it back up. Never had my water freeze doin it this way.
I am getting a rv an i hav no electric hookkups. All i need is a heater , phone charger and computer charger how long do you fhink propane will last me for all that
Depends on how cold it is in your area. I could make 2 20lb tanks last in 30 degree weather for 2 weeks. If it's not that cold you could prob make that last at least a month
Do you have videos of the winter month's 🤔.
You should be using gaffing tape not aluminum tape
I will give you all a tip that you’ll love and thank me for….. the best insulation to use is ………. Kao wool …… it doesn’t burn…. And the heat and cold doesn’t go through it…… it’s the insulation used in melting metal in the furnaces ….. if you can melt metal but it doesn’t catch fire …. Do you think it will keep the heat in and cold out or cold in and heat out …. Yep … you’re welcome….
Awesome thank you we will have to check that out
Let the haters hate, it says everything that you need to know about them. That tank rocks! Would like to see some train vids sometime if possible. ✌️
Duck tape
There is a spray type glue for gravel so it will not move at Lowe’s
how do you keep the rodents out?
Really haven't had much issue with that's have bug spray and my cat for anything else.
wait what did u say about flower pots ? mint skirt job by the way
Thank you for posting this! My husband and I are looking to move into an RV untill we can get a house. Unfortunately we’re in the northeast so I’m very nervous about living in it during the winter… we’re going to be stationary and I couldn’t really find any videos showing someone’s set up that actually works. I honestly could care less what it looks like if it keep me warm I’m good. Getting an RV is way cheaper vs rent. But thank you thank you!! Any other tips you have for camping in the cold please post! You literally saved our day!😁
That's so sweet thank you for the support! I def cannot know what it is like that far north. I plan on putting out a video of something I encountered this past winter at -10 nothing major. We have been in the middle of our move finally! I have 2 and a half yrs under my belt in that camper so I have as much knowledge of midwest winter to encourage you forward. I just haven't had the time to edit and get it out atm. Once I'm settled I plan on putting more out. Then onto our next chapter of barndo living. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
What are you draining your gray and black waters into? Is that a DIY septic? Also, I see your close to a building or house? Do you use their electricity or run exclusively off propane? How much propane cost do you average per month?
Draining into a legitimate septic system. Power is running from the house. Staying at my sister's place and pay rent until our house is built. Worked out well.
Your a tougher guy.
Is that bottom bunk not structural?
Was this video flipped or was that actually your right hand holding the fish ?? I'm just wondering if your tattoo is on your right or left wrist ?? 😅
Really my right hand
@WanderingDryad-we6sy mine's on my left ! Nice catch either way ! 👌
Thank you
Nice
The absolute best tape that I've found for skirting is Reflectix tape. It stays for a long time, and it doesn't leave a residue on your trailer.
Some of the best tasting fish right there you just let dinner go
I know, sucks but on lunch break at work didn't have anywhere to store them rest of the day 😔
So just a silly bit of advice when applying tape to literally anything if you use a heatgun or a Torch to warm the adhesive before you apply. Tape works a 1000 times better again. A dumb life hack, but it works. I've done this while taping a torrential downpour. Even the crappiest tape works better.
Beautiful
The cold is my biggest thing with this. Well my 2nd biggest thing. I live in a very cold winter climate and want to make sure I'm not constantly running out of propane, but finding parking is like a slap in the face. Everyone is crying broke and say they could use an extra couple hundred a month, but not a single person would let me rent space from them, so I'm at the point where I'll have to hit crown land and push the trailer with my back every 3 weeks to be compliant.
I feel you, winter with enough propane has not been bad. I've been very fortunate with having family close to let me rent a spot. But have rented montly at a couple parks as well just depends on the options in your area.
I was hopping for good beginner tips but as someone who live in texas. I see this video only for cold climates tips and that’s something I just don’t have to worry about.
