A unique neighborhood located close to Purdue's campus and rich with history and the great people making it a wonderful place to live.
Beautiful
I’m in 7th grade there
When I watch this I am reminded of how life was before the insanity of todays times. Architecture is what helps brings pleasure to people's existence in all its various forms.
Thank You!
I have been designing houses for almost 50 years. My office is in central NJ and 90% are 2 story colonial’s. Almost every client brings a plan and elevation from a plan book that they picked up at the local food store.
My former employer sold a Wright chair for $18,000. It was around 1984. The Wright chair sat in the office for at least 10 years and was pushed around to every corner.
The exhaustive and thematic imagination in every detail recorded by architectural plans is impressive here, especially in that it is only one of Wright’s 500 projects completed.
What a wonderful life experience the Dr & his wife had--to hear about actual interactions with FLW in the design of this amazing house.
A magical place
Phew! That giveaway went much better!!! Last time you said you were done and that made me cry... but!... you gave it another shot, and...voila!!! A very nice match was made! (That's definitely God at work 💖in my opinion.) We're all glad you persevered!!!
Wonderful life, love what you all have accomplished, thanks for sharing the beauty of your gifts!❤
The good Doctor and his wife were such excellent stewards of this FLW Masterpiece. I do hope that his Grandchildren found the formula to his secrete Copper instant patina spray and have made $Millions!
That sofa?! FLW is rolling over in his grave
the romans used under floor heating. they got it from the Phoenicians, so on & so on. F.L.W. was an innovator, a true renaissance man. he developed &/or improved a great many things. radiant floor heating was not one of them
The curator looks like a movie star. A female Jim Nabors.
Did Dr. Christian take his secret copper greening formula to the grave? RIP Dr. Christian
You just pee on it. Seriously.
Most gracious people thank you😘
What a wonderful visionary and perfectionist he was!!! Spectacular!!!😁😍🥰😘👏
Please shut the dreary music off!
Excellent documentary.Bjutiful!
That room at 1:40! Amazing!
I’m going to experience this
As much as I appreciate this production... Dr. Christian is trying to sound like a genius here. It's baking soda (and vinegar if you wish) people. It's been known for a loooooong time before Dr Christian was ever born. Yeah.... secret formula.....
As a student at Purdue (BA Communications), I passed by here every day as I went to Purdue. Always wanted to see the interior, and thanks to this, I can. Thank you. Also, I gave a speech on Frank Lloyd Wright to the much younger students and showed pictures of Wright's designs and when I told them the designs were in the 20s and 30s, they were amazed.
played Mr. Christian (a friendly English version of "well - played" ..... if you don't say this in the USA)
Amazing documentary !😍🌹💕🙋
Fabulous.
Whoever did the sound on this film had the volume so loud couldn't hear the narrator-the overly loud, blasting music ruined the video altogether, drowned the film out
Huh?
The memories of 6th grade :')
This is a nice collection of timeless , understated, mid century architecture.
*What a great story, family journey, and priceless experiences.* Excellent documentary.
Frank Lloyd Wright was a strikingly handsome man throughout his life. He had a classy look and just had to be a most interesting man to converse with. Confident rather than arrogant, it is a personal trait we each would benefit from fostering. He is Modern Architecture and Design and will be known always, thousands and thousands of years to come, he will hold his due place in History.
Strikingly handsome? 🤣
You are correct,Beth Bartlett,on everything you said.I visited one of his homes & he was bigger than life because his presence was everywhere. His genius as an architect & bigger-than-life persona can't be argued
Thank you Dr. Christian.
I’ve been to Samara, it’s gorgeous!
What a gem!
Thats my band teacher
That is in fact my band teacher as well 🤓🐒
Yooooooo me too
He mad me sad 😔
He mad me sad 😔
He mad me sad 😔
A very touching tribute to both architect and client who worked together to create a marvelous work of art.
I cannot stand the term 'mid century modern'. Sounds so pseudo intellectual. Cringe.
The amateurs love it. Also ICONIC and EPIC.
Loved hearing from the original owners, but lets see more rooms and kill the background music. It was annoying. Thank you for posting.
Drop the "Lincoln," please: despite its repeated appearance as Wright's supposed middle name, it has no basis in fact. It seems to have been the invention of Brendan Gill, in "Many Masks," a work which has few friends today in the world of legitimate Wright scholarship.
Fascinating. Myth arises around great heroes.
I'd think of name changes too, if my name was Gill. Or name my daughter Fish.
Amazing documentary..!!
Where’s the bike trail in the video located?
I think it is Prophetstown
I wish we could have seen more of the Grace House. It is absolutely stunning !!
Corruption fraud Marketing
Lamp. Car. Mushroom.
That stained glass is beautiful
My absolute favourite of all architecture 👍🏻
a elderly couple ten years ago one or both of them are probably dead by now. That was the shortest tour of a house I have ever seen.
Don’t forget Axle Rose from Guns-N-Roses fool
Interesting hearing from the original owners. But I feel the “tour” part is being left out. Take a camera and walk from room to room.
Love FLW - the man was *genius* He established an Architectural Design that will be it's own genre' forever. I can imagine much wiggle room for another Modern Concept. Fab share - *THANK YOU!*
