In the dough, I add garlic powder and mixed Italian herbs. On the bare edges of the pizza (the crust) I brush with olive oil, garlic powder and mixed Italian herbs.

Only one (italian) suggestion: let it cover for 2 hours, then knead, then cover for another 2 hours then knead again, then roll. Maybe my yeast is different from yours, but waiting 4 hours makes it much easier to digest.

don't put tomato sauce all the way to the edge, leave about an inch or just over and brush crust with olive oil mixed with garlic powder and dried italian herbs, thank me later

Super magic. One moment it is dough and the next moment just before topping it is a baked base. I know you messed it up. Own up and stop showing fake successes. For everyone else: She crimped it when she loaded the dough on the pan. But when she started to top the pizza with toppings you can see the base is ready baked and without crimping. Funny isn't it?
