We are the Simons - Jerald, Suzanne (Zanny), Summer, Preston, and Matthew. We are an ordinary family who love having extraordinary fun together as we learn and grow. So we were deciding between This resort and Grand Oasis Cancun. Honestly this resort looks incredibly friendly towards family and I love the activities. Can I ask if you opted for any excursions and what type of activities the resort had included? Also what camera did you use. The video quality is absolutely amazing. Great job filming!
We were there mid March just gone, for my gfs sisters wedding and first off it was amazing, the beach, the hotel, the people, everything. All-inclusive, but as far as excursions go, I recommend you go to any of the organised meetings with one of the travel reps (We were with Transat) and they explain everything, prices, locations, times etc, and are happy to answer any questions you have. We also spoke to one of the on-sight cabbies who told us about a place that was literally a 15 minute walk from the resort grounds. It's called Cenotes, and it was basically an attraction with a series of cave pools, 5 in total but one was closed for us. It wasn't cheap but you can usually barter down to around $45 per person, depending on how many of you there are. Well worth it though, the spots are absolutely amazing and so beautiful, we were actually shocked how close it was to the resort tbh. If you're considering, I definitely say you should go with Barcelo maya resort

How deep was the lazy river at Xcaret? I want to take my 4 year old but she can’t swim and I’m not strong enough swimmer to help her if it’s to deep for me too
I want to know too cause my kids aren't good swimmers.
Some spots in the lazy river ended up being deeper than our little ones could stand up in. Our children can swim, but everyone must wear a life jacket as well. I helped our youngest (who was 5 at the time). The life jackets work great!

Do they have seafood buffet and tropical fruits during yr stay? I heard someone mention about it before pandemic.
Yes, they did. There were several restaurants and the buffets had all different foods from many nationalities (i.e. Mexican food, sea food, Chinese, Italian, a French Restaurant, etc.). The food was great!
What hotel did you stay at ?

We're heading there in August with our kids. Any issues with the weight minimum at Xplor? I saw that you were tethered together sometimes on the zip lines.
Great views of Zion, reminded me of the times I went there. Summer looks so like her Mom, of course. Looking forward to your adventure hiking the Narrows. On second thought, might me too challenging for the boys right now.

Thanks for asking. Our room was beautiful and the food was unbelievable. They have several restaurants and you can choose which restaurant you would like to go to each night. They have three restaurants - French, Italian, and Brazilian. They have two separate buffets where you can eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Our kids loved the buffet so much (and we did too). They have amazing virgin strawberry daiquiris and virgin piña coladas (you can even order them at the swim up bar in the swimming pool). The ‘all you can eat buffets’ are wonderful (in our opinion). Our kids had several ice cream cones each day. I hope that helps. We didn’t include video of the rooms and restaurants. I guess we’ll need to go back again to film more videos!😉
