Throw in delivery charges of the lumber, nails, screws, and roofing materials. Plus, the profit margin Grand total would be around 3 - 5 thousand dollars. Saw mill today cost $3,300 My bet it was closer to 2k when bought. Getting 1 or 2 cords of firewood costing approx. $450. This build was a very profitable

You can save the ash for making soap as well. Good, healthy, all natural lye soap. To a trend chasing "natural" fanatic? $10+ a bar. To a savy craftsman with ash and a spare hour or two? Free for several bars.
