Soak the chain in a bucket of motor oil. Better yet forego the engine on the saw mill and just mount a chainsaw on the mill.

I've been through some of the same things you are doing here, I started out with a chainsaw with piece of channel bolted to the bar and 2x6 screwed to the log and made beams,then made chainsaw sawmill that set over the log with camper jacks at each end,then bought a better built portable bandsaw and bolted chainsaw to, and then I finally bought a Lucas portable sawmill swing blade and it's still lot of work but much easier than chainsaw. Nice job on the mill, few more tweaks, good to go, however, I've found it's better to cut green logs, they cut easier with chainsaw sawmills.

Two brief suggestions. Use another method to drive the advance of the carriage - that twist is robbing power and will be a nightmare. Support your cut plank with a couple wedges after the cut gets two or so feet in. Since there is no effective set in the blade/teeth on a chainsaw (the backside teeth drag in the already made cut) taking the pressure off the drooping board helps save power and make a better cut quality.

The 15 gallon (original equip) fuel tank is no longer available from Ford, Doorman, or Spectra .... the 17 gal replacement for the 108 inch wheelbase (short cab, short bed) will work UNLESS your truck happens to also have 4WD ...(in which case the transaxle is in the way of the larger fuel tank). So. ... IF you DO NOT have 4WD then OK.....but, if your is a 4x4 then your ONLY recourse if to find a "Good" 15 gallon tank in a junkyard, or have your original tank rebuilt (cleaned, holes welded, rust removed, etc....expensive, but can be done) ..... So, that NEW pretty gray tank he puts in this truck.... is no longer available !

I love cold starts on carbureted engines. The choppy idle makes it sound like it's cammed lol. I think I heard you say the motor is an '01, is it magnum or LA? I'm assuming since it's a 3/4 ton it's a 360/5.9? Beautiful truck 👌🏻 I used to have an '87 Ramcharger. Last year they came carbureted. It had the emissions-choked 318 and the pathetic little 2bbl carb. Originally had the dreaded spark control computer but I ended up pulling an older style (magnetic pickup/vaccum advance distributor) electronic ignition system from a '78 at the junkyard. Ran better than it probably did off the showroom floor after that. Once I removed all the emissions equipment (cats, egr, evap, smog pump) it was a hoot to drive. I friggin miss that thing...

If you run those heaters. On low for extended time it will fill with soot. You need to run them wide open to keep from soot build up which makes them smoke bad and fail to run

morning mate 👍the ticking sound is the disel pump running. unfortunately you can't stop it making that noise 😢. I luv the Chinese disel heaters. we have one in our trailer tent and it works very well mate.
