What do you think about incubus+Astral aegis for the boss? Cooldown on E is a bit longer but in return you also get HP reduction, and you also have snare charge to interrupt boss ability with royal shoes means you never get hit by it, alongside defense bonus from aegis instead of black monk stave W, as well as defensive Q to increase resistances further
