DENISE BTS | SONY A7IV | CREATING WITH THE BARE MINIMUM
In today's video, I want to show you how easy it is to create captivating, professional-quality images using just one camera and one lens-no assistants, lighting modifiers, or complex editing techniques. This educational and entertaining guide is perfect for photographers at any skill level who want to make the most of their existing gear and elevate their creativity. It's all about using your eye and letting the light guide the composition.

📸 Some KEY takeaways:
• Lighting comes before everything, let the light guide your composition. Don't try to force your composition in a bad lighting scenario.
• Don't be afraid to try everything, you will never know how to fix your mistakes if you don't allow yourself to make them.
• Composition isn't just about lines and symmetry, it's also about colors, textures, shapes, and lighting. They all play a huge role.
Whether you’re a beginner photographer, a content creator on a budget, or a pro looking for fresh inspiration, I hope this video provides some great insight for your future shoots.

    I just ran across your video and found it informational except for the error you made about the white backdrop being gray. That should not be. A backdrops color should be correct and as it should be irregardless of whether it is white, black, or whatever. You were experiencing white balance issues with the flash you and your camaer's metering. For a thorough understanding of this concept, you should check out Mark Wallace's TH-cam videos about it. He's very, very educational professional photographer and can break it down in detail. I know that this is an old video and, hopefully, you've made the correction but if not I recommend that you check him out not only to educate yourself but your audience as well. Ciao.

    • @AnthonyFerrell
      @AnthonyFerrell 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate the concern, but I believe you should do a little research about the inverse square law. This will explain exactly how to make a white backdrop grey if needed/wanted. Also, white balance issues would equal an issue in color tonality, I.e too warm/cool, too magenta/green. True white (255R, 255G, 255b) vs true grey (128R, 128G, 128B) are not color related as the RGB channels are equal across them, they’re brightness related. So no error made. I just understand light manipulation a bit better. Hopefully that makes sense.

      I use Davinci for my edits, and I compliment that with a lot of different tools and packs from MotionVFX.com And the specific light at 4:39 was just the modeling lamp from my Godox AD200Pro. This is a strobe light.

    Thank you for the video Anthony. Do you find you need 600w, or could you get away with a less powerful strobe? How low might it go before it doesn't work in your space?

    • @AnthonyFerrell
      @AnthonyFerrell 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly I love the AD600 Pro, if I’m shooting indoors it’s more than enough power, but it also allows me to pull the power output down to 1/256th of its full power. So it still works for me if I don’t need a lot of power. But it REALLY shines on location when you need a strong light during sunny days!

    Why do you have the light coming from the window side that has coming in?

    • @AnthonyFerrell
      @AnthonyFerrell 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a great question, I should have elaborated more! Since I’m using a strobe, I am overpowering any ambient light in the room. I.e. if I left my settings the same and turned off my strobe, I would have a black image. Therefore the window light wasn’t effecting my image in anyway!

    Hey Anthony I love the video, very easy to follow and understand however at the end you mentioned about making the background darker or lighter and was hoping to see how you make the white background really white, I have a client looking for that, can you help please?

    • @AnthonyFerrell
      @AnthonyFerrell 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m so sorry I’m just now seeing this, but if you only have one light, you want to keep your subject as close to the background as possible to have a brighter background. If you do happen to have two lights, then one can be for your subject and the other could be for your background!
