Last year I created The Tragedy of the Windy City Assassin as a entry to an Arts Festival. Out of hundred of entries by thousands of creators, I tied for second place in my category. I was Pissed. While I understand the magnitude of a tie for second out ...

Sometimes, very seldomly, but sometimes you come across something or someone on the internet that just speaks to you; it might be that specific piece of music or a blog etc. I think this is one of these few, wonderful times for me. This video, The Wolf 359 one, the Midnight Burger one etc. are all wonderful and just like somebody autocompleted my own thoughts on the respective subjects that I just couldn't formulate myself, in the most amazing way possible. You have enormous talent. I think you should keep pushing. There might be dragons, but they might turn out to be friendly.

Super glad this popped up in my feed, keep up the great work and good things coming your way! I will say, the artistic choice to keep the “ON AIR” backdrop and shrunken highlight reel for such a considerable amount of the video had me squinting to see the video which lessened the emotional impact of the overarching story. Well written and orated, great score too.

I personally liked the series the whole way through. It felt like a new type of cosmic horror for me. I will admit, seasons 4 and 3 were not as strong, but it did have some good moments that kept me listening. But yeah your view on the themes of overcoming fear itself was something I actually went through with and during the discovery of the audio drama in my personal life. The fear of the unknown is what kept me going with it, and why cosmic horror is my favorite sub genre of horror, and why I ended up liking the whole thing to varying degrees

First of all, this is the most aesthetically pleasing video essay I've ever seen, Goddamn! I think the greatest strength of Midnight Burger is how strong the writing is. In reality we're just listening to people acting out a script yet the connections forged with each character is immensely powerful. I gotta say, I shed tears both times that the Mucklewaines gave eulogies and I'm not even the religious type

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I got so excited when I saw this on my recommended page!! I love the white vault podcast and have spent the last few months creatively dissecting it and this video is!! It’s the kind of discussion I’ve wanted to see! Yes, the 1st and 2nd seasons of the white vault are iconic and enthralling and thrilling. During my first listening of the podcast, I was almost dismayed to see an entirely new cast in the 3rd season. It was hard to connect to them, the only reason I really kept listening is bc of the implications held by the Documentarian collecting all this stuff in the first place and the fact I knew what was coming for this new cast of characters. I kept listening with the faith that there was some overarching plot about the vaults, (and I was …partially right?) and I wanted to see how it would end up. I had gone from being invested in the victims of these monsters, to being invested in the story of the monsters themselves. It was an odd twist in perspective, in retrospect. Like you mentioned, I didn’t feel very much fear in the 3rd season, I knew what was coming, I only had anticipation over when it would happen. It was the beginning to understanding these monsters and significantly lowering the fear and horror factor that was so addicting in the Svalbard arc. And then Graham showed up again, and I had no trouble paying attention lol. I feel like the “academic” side of the 3-4 season cast is an important part of this whole theme of understanding the threat and losing fear of it. At least, from an audience pov. Josefa’s storyline in the 5th season is interesting to me specifically bc of how she is very much trying to understand, trying to translate and make sense of what Liu wrote before and what the guardians and vault might mean in general. The stubborn need for understanding and all the things she learned from it still don’t keep her from getting got, though. It’s where the theme starts to muddy. Should we be looking for these things? Should we be trying to stop it? The fifth season, especially w the documentarian, is what maybe simultaneously let me down the most in terms of the world created and had me laying on my bed during Christmas break with tears in my eyes, in shock. The storytelling was exquisite. It was a good season, I liked the conclusion, it was very sad, and yes I miss Graham a lot. But the whole thing with the vaults and the guardians was….eh. Specifically the implication that the vaults were for keeping something in the earth held back and actually guardians are what’s guarding us from it. I feel like that’s when it started to get out of hand. Interesting concept don’t get me wrong but like….it’s not the vibes, y’know? Well now I’m just complaining. Back to the point if I can find it. The fascinating thing about the white vault is how it goes deeper into forcing you to understand that these guardians are just another part of the world, they have history, they have motivations, they have origin. There are people responsible for keeping them in check, there are studies being carried out on why they work the way they do. By the end of the story, they aren’t really treated like a bogeyman anymore, they’re treated like everything else we can’t fully understand on this earth: with caution, scientific intrigue, and respect. It’s one of the parts of the podcasts story that has made me so interested in it, even nearly a year after finishing its finale. I appreciate your video, thank you
