My guess it might be connected to your computer microphone settings. I have heard that peoples mics not working, but I'm not sure how they fix it :/ sorry I can't be much help

Right after you download the file, you need to extract it. Since you said it says .rar, I'm assuming you have Winrar installed so all you'd have to do is right click on the file and click "Extract"
