Is that the Campsie fells😊
Yes - just up from the car park in the sky
Up the road for the SP5 this year so good to see some of the course before hand, cheers.
Good luck. I've signed up for this year too. Hopefully no puncture this time
@ good luck to you too, see you on the beach! And fingers crossed for no mechanicals this year! 🙏
Enjoyed listening to this! Thanks for posting. We met at the end of the crazy parcours. Sounds like we met the same policemen that night. I was sleeping on a bench in the town just before the main road, and they woke me up and asked similar questions. They were very friendly and polite, much nicer than British police would be if a Romanian was sleeping rough in the UK!
Had to have a wee keek. That's dedication !
This is the most inspiring HYROX video I have watched so far. I think I am in way over my head with this but excited to try it! What was your final time?
1hr 45 min. Definitely room for improvement! :)
Cool video. I am going to attempt this on Saturday. Does one side of your body fatigue quicker due to the anti-clockwise running direction?
my neck was a little bit sorer on one side than the other which i guess is due to turning slightly every lap. But it wasn't too bad! The hard part is keeping count of the laps. Even with the big screen showing it I still would forget what lap i was on. Good luck!
Nice video, enjoyed watching! Climbed Ben Vane a couple of months ago. Really enjoyable Munro! Difficult enough to add a bit of excitement but nothing too taxing!! Hardest part is finding your way up the last couple of scrambles. There is a few routes but there is an easy way up the lot once you figure it out. We walked further up the track after the bridge before turning right, brings you onto the same main path though. Shame you didnt get the weather at the top... good excuse to do it again though!
My great(x6)-grandfather, Donald Macleod of Berneray, lodged for a year in a cave in that cliff, on the run after the Battle of Culloden in 1746. I have seen photos of the cave, but this is the first video of the area itself, so I am very pleased to see it - "Thank You!" Known as "Old Trojan", Donald had been "out" in 1715, was 54 years of age in 1745, and earned Old Trojan at the Battle of Falkirk Muir in 1745, when he was attacked by an English dragoon, and after a touch and go struggle, killed him. I had long known that another great(x6)-grandfather, Roderick Macleod of Cadboll, of Invergordon Castle, was out in 1745, but only discovered Donald a few months back. Donald sounds quite a character! / It is good to see someone love the rugged beauty of Scotland so much, and share it with others. Amazing that after 4 years of being posted, I am the first to comment. Best wishes, Zen
That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing
@@twinbikerun Who knows, maybe I will visit the cave myself one day, and stay a night there! And visit Rodel Church, where Donald, and many other of my ancestors, lie buried. /
Think you will find most of those so called palm trees are actually N. Zealand cabbage trees as have been there 3 times.
No, it's not. It;s a great place to live.. I spent 7 years living there and will never regret it.
nice
Thanks for making this. Helpful for my first time HM.
Hi there. Great video. May I ask what camera and stick/selfie device you are using?
The camera is an insta360 x2. Its takes a 360 degree video and then I have to edit it to look normal. Which is great as you can just point it anywhere and then get the shot you need from it later. There is a newer x3 version thats just come out but the x1 or x2 are both good and cheaper than the new one :) Similarly i use a dji mini 2 drone. there are newer ones but he image quality is just as good with the old one
Nice visuals Twinbikerun
Ahhhh noooo... Was hoping you'd show the view from the viewing platform up the gorge. Nice video nonetheless and amazing walk.
Sorry! ill get it next time :)
Doing this in a few weeks. Nerves are kicking in
Good luck! I'm doing it again but i haven't trained much. I think ill be slower this year.
@@twinbikerun You're slow will probably be my fast.
Me too. Not done it some 2015, belt like I had to accomplish something before I’m 55 - 4 days after it!!
@@JohnM... me too, but about 3 weeks after the event
@@murielh766 good luck!!🤣
All these places are incredible.had the pleasure of enjoying a few nice trips around all the islands, watching videos like this always kinda get me emotional for some reason? Maybe because I've watched my girls play in the sea, build sand castles, njoy bbq, whilst me and mum enjoy some beers and wine?! Some of my best memories ever are on these beaches. Just no words for the magnificence of them, especially on a sunny day
thats great memories. I grew up on the island and loved playing on the beaches.
What kind of camera is that you use? I've never seen anyone get them angles, and it doesn't look like you're holding anything?!!! This is playing with my mind!
its an insta360 camera. It takes a 360 image and automatically removes the pole its attached to. its great for running videos as it looks like I have a camera floating near me :) store.insta360.com/product/x4
Been meaning to sign up for this one for the last 3 years! 2025its a go.
Good luck. Its a fun race
Beautiful
Thanks for sharing, the wee scramble near the top will be too difficult for myself and my dog.

People should avoid going to flower market in Howrah. It is not a good place. Newtown, Saltlake, Park street are the better areas in Kolkata.

@@twinbikerun thank you mate 😎 great video btw
Thank you for this video. I am running this in October.
good luck!
Great view of Loch Lomond there 🙂👍
What an amazing video! I love the style and narration. The drone footage was awesome. I subscribed and did all that TH-cam nonsense! I appear in the video a couple of times, it's such an honor for me! It was an amazing experience, and I'm very glad you created such a fantastic video reportage.
Thanks! Glad you had a great time doing the race
What a terrific video of a spectacular area! Thanks for showing us. Lovely to see all the green grass. I have only been to Harris one time but the whole area was brown and black. I think a lot of burning had taken place. Lovely to see the green. Your aerial work is wonderful. ❤
Thanks. Hope you will get back to Harris on a good day :)
Thanks for the footage (as others have said) - your video brings a certain amount of realism to it. Although, saying it was a good job you did not recce one part (as you would have never done it) now instills fear if I ever manage to sign up (looking for 2025 - whenever they open registration)
thanks! Give it a go. Its a great day out and hopefully next year won't be so hot :)
There is a reason why veg meals are less likely to make you sick, as meat is far more likely to have bacteria like salmonella 😊
This is where we warship lilith 😆
I love the drone footage!
Another good video!
Thanks!
yoga is singular yog is verb i went and did yoga is like i went and did cook. :P
As a first timer at this event I was thoroughly impressed by the organisation by UTS. I felt looked after and treated as a runner not a punter for the whole experience, very important as I’ve heard a few people describing it as just a money making machine. What I would point out is the importance of paying attention to the course details and mandatory kit, which if you admitted to forgetting a torch you hadn’t, and if you looked at the course profile it clearly stated the first aid station for the 50k was fluids only. Also as a long race in warm weather, you had the option to bring kit that was not required, but good practice, one being a bottle top water filter to take on extra water from any sources available, invaluable for those conditions.
Yes - I knew what was at each aid station and I planned accordingly by having enough water and food with me to not need any assistance. My complaint is that in comparison to other races (and I've done allot) the quality of the aid stations was very poor.
Nice video. You had a similar day to me, cooked by the heat just like last year. Certainly my experience of last year helped but writing on the wall when it’s that hot. At least the first timers now know what’s involved!! It’s a tough tough race!
Well done taking part. It was a hot day! The only way I'd have gone up the third hill was if there was a swimming pool filled with ice cream at the top :)
@@twinbikerun ha ha I was going to be timed out at cp2 so I grabbed Fanta and Coke and headed down the llanberis path slowly back to the start. And there was a cafe open half way down which was a nice surprise! Back next year I hope, gotta conquer this 💪
Good video thanks. I'm planning to do the 50k next year but it's a bit disappointing to hear the feed stations are poor. There's no excuse for it really, especially considering the high fees to run on trails you could do for free .
Supposedly it was better than last year so hopefully they improve again next year. They seem to listen and respond to feedback. Good luck with your race!
Thanks for the footage of me coming down the Pyg track!
…just to be massively pedantic peanuts aren’t actually nuts…there peas - or so says QI. Good effort out there! 🫡
What does QI say about the difference between "there, their and they're"?
For such a big company as UTMB they bring such disrepute to the ultra running, values and ethos. After paying all that money, sufficient water is the least you can expect at every aid station.
I couldn't believe how poor the aid stations were. I've done a few small scale £40 ultras that are far, far better in terms of how they look after runners. Did you hear the MC at the start line say "you guys are getting great value for money today"? It all felt like a complete and utter rip off to me 😅😅
What were you expecting? A 3 course meal. It’s a tough trail run, not a picnic in the park.
@@stevenmeldrum1944 Wasn't expecting much luxury, but was expecting more than just 2 stations with peanuts, banana ends and packs of Walkers Crisps. Much cheaper events that I've taken part in have gone to much greater lengths, that's all I'm saying. If all I wanted was a tough trail run, I'd run out the door and do it for free!
In my experience the cheaper the race the better the quality of grub :) They supplied crisps to the 100k runners at checkpoint 1 so they could easily have done it for the the 50k too!
Beachy Head Ultra has sausage rolls - highly recommend that for scenario and race organisation (well, more toilets would never go a miss)
Didn’t realised I passed you on the way down the mountain. Tough day out but stunning scenery
You were going very fast! :)

Love rockcliffe, happy memories of going there when I stayed with my grandparents. You should check out Morton Castle whilst in d&g, it’s a beautiful tiny ruin set by a reservoir and barely changed in two hundred years
