Just Ask!

Sometimes we don't receive what we need from God, because we don't ask Him for it, or we're asking for the wrong reasons or in the wrong way. This same principle can be at play when we're asking people to explore faith in Jesus. Preaching on James 6:13-4:3 at Saint Benedict Parish, Halifax.

Come to Saint Aidan Anglican Catholic Church Sunday at 11 am. We don't change the word of God, the word of God changes us
Margaret, you keep spamming every video I make - proselyting people to come to your place of worship. Anglo-Catholicism is not truly Catholic, as it is not in full union with the Catholic Church that Christ founded. May saint Gertrude pray for us
In 1937, this prayer ended after "souls in Purgatory". I dont know who added the rest.
Maybe Purgatory should be pronounced PURGE-ATORY. Thanks for this info❤❤❤
Thank very much for the very powerful message
Please pray Saint Gertrude for my parents, brother and grandparents souls and for those who have nobody to pray for. May they all rest in peace.
St Gertrude The Great pray for us and pray for all the holy souls in purgatory including my ancestors all my family , friends and my enemies . Amen
Look into Orthodoxy! There is no such thing as Purgatory. Orthodox Christianity is the fullness of the faith. No changes from Pope's. No popes there are only Patriarchs:)
(1) "I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life. (2) I will establish peace in their homes. (3) I will comfort them in all their afflictions. (4) I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death. (5) I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings. (6) Sinners will find in my Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy. (7) Lukewarm souls shall become fervent. (8) Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection. (9) I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored. 10) I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts. (11) Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart. (12) I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment."
Thank you so much father for this beautiful exposition.
Her name is my Confirmation name. St. Gertrude, pray for us 🙏
All the righteous works of human history put together could not save a single man from a single sin. Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection offer forgiveness & justification to all men by grace through faith alone.
I'm praying for my sister, who divorced her unfaithful and abusive husband and now desperatly is looking for someone new. And I pray for a courage for myself to stand against this sin :( it's really hard for me to hurt her feelings, because of her horrible experiences. But I'm afraid of her eternal salvation...
Wow, thanks for sharing that, that must be very difficult for everyone involved. I will definitely keep you, her, and the whole situation in my prayers. She might consider reaching out to the local diocese to see if there are any ground for her marriage to be annulled which, if discovered, would leave her free to marry?
Yet for some unknown bad reason, your church withholds the Eucharist from infants and young children. Is their physical illness not worthy of Christ. Is He not also their Saviour?
Saint Gertrude i see you in me.pray to see and God more so i die like a saint that you were amen
I like music that fills my soul with joy and gives me happy feet!
💖"We know ALL things work together for good to them that love God." (Romans 8:28) 💖 Thanks be to God! Wonderful and delightful! Thank you so much for this prayer and blessing. (We also need to denounce and ask for forgiveness for any "illicit" relationship we've had outside of marriage, including any perverse family relationships at 12 yrs. old and beyond - an Eastern Orthodox priest told me once, that once you reach the spiritual maturity age of 12, you have to take responsibility for all unholy things that you take part in...even as a victim of incest) Praying for you, dear Fr. Isaac, all Companions of the Cross Priests, and all priests. I really enjoy The Heroes of the Faith - it's so clear that you put so much time and effort into these teachings. God bless you and the Companions of the Cross forever!✨✝️🙏 💖 Fr. Bob Bedard, please pray for us! ✨✝️🙏 St. Fabiola, please pray for us.✨😇🙏 Mother of Mercy, most holy Mary, please pra y for us who have recourse to you!✨💙🙏 💖 Viva Cristo Rey! 💖
Through him with him in him, in the unity of the Holy spirit, all glory and honor is yours Almighty father forever and ever. Amen
My main problem with guitars and drums at the Mass is that (a) it usually isn't done very well, with little-trained liturgical musicians bringing limited and mostly secular-trained skills to the music ministry, and (b) it sounds like (badly played) music of the world, not the otherworldly mystical union of Earth and Heaven. These musicians of limited skill often do not know and have never been trained by their pastors or dioceses that the church itself gives the music for each Mass in the Graduale Romanum, and never actually sing any of the music that the GIRM gives first place favour, instead relying on the last place substitution of other hymns and songs.
St. Gertrude, Pray for us sinners and for all the souls in purgatory 🙏❤️🙏 Jesus I Trust in You ✝️🙏✝️
Thank you Father Longworth, for putting together these podcasts on Hero's of the Faith. They are so inspiring and are a blessing to listen to.. I just wanted to let you know that, the European settlement in Australia, has been described as historical acts of genocide by many scholars. Aboriginal communities were massacred. Those who survived, had their land taken from them and were left displaced. Women were raped and their mixed race children were removed from them by force. They were placed into institutions or adopted by non-indigenous families "for their own good" .. this is now referred to as the stolen generation. They were forced to assimilate into Australian society and were punished if they were heard speaking their native language in schools. Restrictions were placed on their movement, marriage, employment and the practice of their traditions. This has left deep scars on the indigenous Australians, who are still fighting to be recognised, have their voices heard and have the history books re-written with what really happened. Many prayers are needed for them.
Thanks for sharing this, it is heartbreaking to think of how much evil has been done throughout history. I will pray for the Aboriginal peoples of Australia in a special way today, that God will bring His healing and consolation. St. Mary MacKillop pray for Australia!
I was under the impression that "speaking in tongues" does not mean incomprehensible babbling, but actually speaking in other languages, that the person does not normally know how to speak. Hence why such a feat would be a supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit. (As any person can babble incomprehensibly).
There are three ways to use the gift of tongues. First - to speak/understand human languages that are otherwise unknown to you. "And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in his own language." (Acts 2:6) Second - to babble in a heavenly language that is incomprehensible by human power. "For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit." (1 Cor. 14:2) Third - to speak a message in that heavenly language that is meant to be interpreted by someone who has that gift. "Therefore, he who speaks in a tongue should pray for the power to interpret." (1 Cor. 14:13)
These people are fake! It’s God given, and not something you can go learn! Just people who believe,or want others to believe that they are holier than thou!

Thank you so much
My deal with the Holy Souls is if any prayer or good deed of mine releases them that they are to pray for the dying, especially for those who die suddenly, for accident victims and for those who die from suicide.
That's a cool arrangement! I also ask the souls in purgatory when I'm praying for them, to pray for situations or people that I know need extra prayers. I have found that they are great friends to have, and powerful intercessors!
making deals?
Thank you for your wonderful channel
@@janaholla6652 so glad you are blessed by it!
Modernist priest. You never even departed from the sacred tradition of the Roman liturgy because youve never had it. “The mass is a big party” you should be ashamed of yourself. You will be judged for what you feed the sheep. Repent.
Beautiful talk Father. I also pray Chaplet for the Holy Souls in Purgatory 🙏 one for my family members and one for the souls who have no one to pray for them😢🙏
Beautiful. Keep it up!
Thank you Fr Isaac for bringing the good news of God’s love to the youth.
Saint Benedict parish reminds me of a Protestant church now with it type of preaching. That's why I left this church because it's too contemporary rather than traditional and biblical and Orthodox in nature
This part 3 series of whatever this is your whatever you're telling people seems like a big waste of time, the only thing people need to get into heaven is to go to church, lead a good life and do good deeds, and pray. It's that simple. All this alpha or formed indoctrination doesn't do anything. It seems like this whole three-part series all you did was talk about yourself and your life. I attended Alpha at Saint Benedict and it was a big waste of time except for the food. Just admit the truth the only reason we have to repent for our sins is because of Eve. Adam on his own followed the rules so it was because of woman that everything got ruined. So we can blame woman for suffering. God should have snuffed out woman because she was ruined by Satan and started over with a new mate for Adam.

Wow. Thanks for all the information
@@dominicpoulyo4475 you're welcome!
I’m troubled because it says there’s the no sexual immoral in Heaven and it’s a mortal sin so if you’re not confessed like my friend who passed for instance does that warrant hell or purgatory….???? Seriously?
So someone who dies in a state of unrepentant mortal sin (like serious sexual immorality), will not go to Heaven. However, we never know who was repentant and who was not - only God knows. Thus we can entrust everyone who has died to His mercy, as the Church never says for certain that a specific human person is in Hell. Anyone who dies with venial sins, will go to Purgatory to be cleansed and made ready for Heaven. Does that make sense? I will be praying for your friend who passed away for sure, never despair!
There are no simple reasons why God picks some as mystics; one of the common threads appears to be humility and meekness. We then hear about the extraordinary love the mystic bears for the Triune God

I really like your talks Fr Issac I’m just very concerned about the promotion of Alpha, we should be making a series rooted in Catholicism, this program talks about additional baptisms in the Holy Spirit encourages speaking in incoherent languages and lay people laying hands on each other for healing ect. These things are Pentecostal in origin there are lots of good priests and bishops speaking out against it. Being too ecumenical just leads to clusters of heretical Christian’s. We need to stick to the Traditional Catholic faith of which the great saints and martyrs practised prior to the modern church movement vat II, we’re leading people astray with this that’s why the church is in such a mess. Alpha is made by Protestants and the two main characters that lead the series are actors. God led me to Kristin Van Tilborg-Bible Basics for Catholics it’s Salvation History in a nutshell 9 classes on YT and there’s a book called Bible Basics for Catholics a new picture of salvation history to go with it by Dr John Bergsma and a timeline you can get from ascension. She does hundreds more videos on YT breaking down each book of the Bible also. She is really engaging and informative, honestly the way she teaches will touch your heart. Please look it up and see what you think, the feel of Alpha is nice. Being with people learning things opening conversations up about faith and definitely the food. But there’s no substance to it because we need the Holy Spirit and we need the truth for it to be actually fruitful in saving souls for eternity. God bless 🙏🏻✝️
God bless
Oh men, never heard these arguments before…. Do they regrow some place?!
If we could somehow quantify the amount of good on this planet that would tell you how much evil there is. Because you can't have one without the other. It has nothing to do with Jesus or Yahweh or any other man-made deity. It's just the way it is.
@@themulti-coloredcanary5795 you can have good without evil. You cannot have evil without good. Evil is the absence of good just like cold is the absence of heat and darkness is the absence of light. God is real. Satan is real. The two are not equal though. Satan is a creature, and is no match for the omnipotent Creator.
I am a catholic From India and I really wanted the Gift of speaking in tongues And I Asked Father in the Name Of Lord Jesus Christ to give me this Gift of speaking in tongues and from that day onwards I was able to talk in tongues.. Praise the Lord.. but I've been struggling with these questions that as A Catholic should I use this gift or it is not from God... 🍁✝️ Amen dear Father Isaac. I hope and pray that one day you'll have the chance to read 'The Making of a Modern Exorcist', by Father Gary Thomas. He was our former priest/exorcist, in the San Francisco Bay Area, about 20 yrs. ago. I know I probably mentioned this before, but believe it or not, I was under demonic oppression/attack, day and night, for about 15 yrs. Only after my first major deliverance (3 yrs. ago), did I dare to read his book (even though my husband and I are in it)...Now I know that conversion of the heart is a process that takes an average of 15-20 yrs., it makes perfect sense - why my "true deliverance" took so long...It's not a matter of being afraid, at some point, it's hard to keep on living with such oppression/obsession/possession, and I did ask my husband once "why can't I just ask God to die"? He got the answer in a dream a few days later, and told me that I still have things to do here, and that list is written in a form of a little scroll 📜. It sounds to me like we all have our roles and our scrolls, dear Father Isaac...;) Suffering in silence, and trying to imitate the one, true "Suffering Servant", is the name of the "saint game". Once in a while, we can't help but ask Abba Father, "If You can remove this cup from me, but not my will, Thy will be done!" 🍁✝️ God bless you dear Father Isaac, St. Benedict Church, and all Companions of the Cross Priests! Shalom🕊️🌹💙🙏 💙 To Jesus through Mary! 💙 🍁✝️ Viva Cristo Rey! ✝️🍁
