This morning Jude woke up with an irritation in his left ear. This gave us the perfect opportunity to practice our handling skills when there was an actual pain/irritation present. As you can see throughout the video his left ear is more sensitive than his right. The cues we are using for handling are "nose" and "ear". Are you aware that more isn’t better and it’s actually been shown to have the complete opposite effect to what you’re trying to achieve? You seem to have taken Battaglias protocol and added your own spin on it, despite the caution he applies to it. You suggest every member of the household doing what you did .. twice a day, that’s likely to cause the pups issues later on.
Is this twice a day by everyone in the household from birth?

Hi! I want to start off by saying that I follow you on Instagram and absolutely love your dogs and your training style and methods. Prue is a pro here, you’ve done an amazing job with both her and Jude. :) I’d like to know if there’s a good way to gauge when you can start phasing out food as a reward? Also, do you periodically bring food back as a reward to help reinforce behaviors or can you eventually 100% eliminate it? I have a stubborn pitbull/sharpei mix who is extremely food motivated, but is reluctant to follow commands without it. Thanks!
