thanks for your comment, about the weight, im not sure what is best but i find light weight players get pushed around easily, and heavy weight is clunky. so it's a compromise between those 2. winning the ball is the strongest part of my game, so maybe i am more aggressive than other CDMs, but on this fifa pressing is a bad idea generally so i am still pretty cautious, staying on feet and in position where possible. as for sliding, honestly dont know whether i slide early or late, i just try to time it right to contact ball with my foot (not ankle or torso, the latter of which is considered a foul on fifa). the time at which you slide should depend how far away is the point at which you will impact the ball. very late slide tackles from close range are possible, as are very early ones from far away, at the limit of your pro's reach - those are the hardest.

Marlin DM 3 Thanks for that great insight man, my problem is I'll be trying to slide the guy & collect the ball with my ankle rather than foot lol.. I've been doing it wrong the whole time. I'm gonna try that heavier weight out also. I've been playing clubs for a while now, but always as an attacker.. I have more fun as a DM, reading the game & breaking up the oppositions attack. 6ft 0 is small? i find it's a good balance of height without getting nutmegged easily also with a taller pro u get a slight pace reduction, which is important defending vs counter attacks

Marlin DM 3 i feel that hight is really important for CDM, to win all/most headers against the taller forwards most teams have at least one of. My CDM is 6'3, but I agree, he is slower and clunkier. :/

sometimes i find it tough against a very tall ST, but that's what CBs are for :D most ST i face are small, so i still have some height advantage at 6'0. All of our strikers play with small (under 6') pros for example

Nice, try 6'0 198lbs , Sprint and Accelaration traits, Strength, Slide and stand tackle, weak foot, swerve pass, long pass, short pass and ball control

Believe it or not I tried acceleration and didn't like it, perhaps just not used to it (timing of your movement to intercept the player/ball has to be perfect obviously) Forgot to mention weak foot and long throw above. tbf my build is tailored to me...i avoid dribbling, stay back and don't look to receive the ball often.

I'm trying to find a perfect combination. I want my guy to be agile and able to turn and chase people down or turn when someone dribbles past me or next me, also want him to be strong so he can push the attacker away from the ball or have better tackling and at last be able to win some headers.

I'm bad in the air, that's why i'm not a CB :D Could be wrong but I think ppl place too much importance on the build (except height which is crucial to find one that suits you). I could have all the dribbling skills on, i'd still be wack compared to my team mates.
