West Craven MX, 9-29-24. Yamaha YZ250 & YZ250X, sandy woods loop. Lap 1
I haven't been to West Craven in a few years, So BG and I decided to meet here, which was a great decision 🤘🤘
The woods loop was all sand and whoops. One lap was tougher than five back at home, and there is absolutely nothing hard here. Flat as a pancake, no hills, no thrills, nothing hard at all....just sand. Lol
Overall, I had an awesome time. We ended up doing six laps.

After getting turned around, head back through the ravine, I get stuck on the exact same tree leaving as going in, and off we go. Things start off by me running out of gas, thank you Yamaha for adding a reserve option on the "X" models. 😁 We hit a tiny piece of the Howard farm through the old farms back trail to the semi-new trail at the new farm. We couldn't ride hardly any of the new farm due to the trails are still very wet. It's not that we couldn't do it, but one trip would leave 10 years worth of ruts compared to it...

Super Dave and I switch bikes for a minute, and that was it. He couldn't handle the raw power Yamaha puts in their bikes. Lol!!!! @harrisonclark3799 no single track. It's all wide enough for Jeeps and sxs's. Great place to go at least once and check it off the riding spots list. 😁😁

@@DirtRaider450 it's the closest thing we have for mountains and still make it a day trip. There are better places like brown and brush mtn, but those aren't day trips. Lol!!!!

When I was in high school we made most of these trails. Nothing was marked, no permits, no guard rails. Most of the original trails don’t exist anymore because they got to washed out. Look like they actually are maintained now. Pretty wild what 40 years will do.

@Kawirider1228 It opened in 1990, but I'm not sure when it closed down for good. Some of the best racing I've ever seen took place here. Especially by the man riding the Polaris at the beginning of the video. 😁😁😁

Yup, you'll be smack dab in the middle of wine country. If it rains, the clay will be slick, if not, maybe a little dusty. Lol!! The old Yadkin Valley Stomp (wine reference) GNCC, and Welborn Farms were two of my favorite tracks.

I just Subscribed....and watched more video. Wait, should you not have a helmet? I've only driven SXS once...in Moab, and it was terrifying, and I was grateful for helmet. ..OK, I lied, previous time out side Vegas we flipped the SXS and I was so glad they had actually strapped our wrists into the vehicle, because when we rolled down the ravine the G forces were strong. Glad I had a helmet. I LOVE Uwharrie, just rode there on KLX300R, but the Teryx looks like great fun. How much do they cost?
