Who the fuck is Mark Wilson.
13:50 the Boston in Long's voice came out in this interview
Typical Raiders shit team turnovers and bad QB play
NFL sucks today. It’s a joke. The Bears or Raiders back then could not play defense in today’s NFL. I would include LT and The Giants. It’s a bloody disgrace.
Looks like the irons that Palmer was using and was saying how much he liked them, were the Palmer Axiom cavity back irons. They were cast irons, but it kind of looks like the irons Palmer was using might have been specially made forged set.
Raider fan here and I remember this day. I was 14 and a church that day. I would go out to the car every 15 minutes and check the score on on this tiny citizen b/w tv.
I’m afraid I need more showboating.
Very tough as a Raiderrs fan back then to warch this game, esp THE FUMBLE. It's easy to say now w/40 years of hindsight, but this marked the end of the Raiders window as contenders. In LA anyway.
Lesson for all future kick returners: if you fumble the kick and are lucky enough to recover it, FALL ON THE BALL! Better bad field position (esp when you're at least tied!), than to let this happen. If this hadn't happened, maybe the Raiders win and then they prob play the Bears in the SB. They likely lose there too, but not as historically awfully as the Pats (no one was likely to beat that Bears D). And at least you made the big game, even if you don't prevail.
I’m a raiders fan but I love them old patriots helmets
WOW...Wilson kinda sucked
That hat is the worst EVER!!!!!
I just watched lee almost hole a five iron then hole that wedge shot ya jacks playing the best wtf
GO!! RAIDERS GO!! GO STRAIGHT TO H E L L!
Thank you Yeah, admiration mingled with nostalgia...yeah, another former Met who almost single-handedly brought them down. The 300 Strikeouts gets your attention-the 2.22 E.R.A. is very good. Now, unless he plunked over 20 hitters in '86, which i doubt...his IP in relativity to hits and walks gives him a WHIP under 1.0...that is the mark of superior pitching, irrespective of the first 2-Orel Hershiser or Steve Carlton come to mind with a WHIP in the neighborhood of 1.0 or less but .500 W/L...Scott was a joy to watch. I remember Roger Craig broke down the mechanics and effects of the Split-Fingered Fastball... 47:47-former players break it down best. 1:50:00 yea 50/50 and because he was takin all the way-nothin to say. The strike zone favours the pitcher- Hernandez got his on the 2-2 pitch! 1:57:00 lip-reader?< blank-blank>Kevin... 2:00:15 ...finally cooling off... 2:45:05 9th-Magnitude W O W
Dick Emberg and Merlin Olsen were the #1 commentary team then - like what Jim Nance and Tony Romo are today. Dick Emberg and Merlin are both dead.
Good job, Rocio, in saving this VHS onto the web.
I became a Raider fan this year.
The wife of Vince Lombardi (the trophy) was still alive and living 1 hour north of me...wow
It is so strange, compared to today's NFL/Superbowl pregames. This feels so awkward. They even introduce the refs and have them state their names. This feels so weird. And to top off the weird vibe, it was the year of the Iranian hostage international crisis.
Revenge for Gary Carter. Kerfeld a solid pitcher taunted Gary Carter fielded the ball on the mound showed Carter the ball. Im sure Gary Carter was determined to get revenge and most importantly get the Mets a huge game 5 win 3-2 up in 1986.
No wonder they needed drugs ,how could anyone cycle that distance after all those happy endings 😂
the music is terrible, but really good movie.
1:38:30 Pats TD missing 😡
55:00 During this original broadcast, a lot of people were seeing a digital dash like that one for the first time by watching this commercial. 🤔
The bikes are fabulous
I remember watching an interview with Mike Scott on a local news network here in Houston. He was asked by the reporter if the accusations of him scuffling the ball were true. And he kind of grinned and said yes.
Nailin' it. Love that pizzicato pickin'.
Go Pats! I hate the Raiders’ gangster/Star Wars motif. California sucks.
5:00. Yes. The roughing the passer bailed the Raiders out of a 3rd and 18. Then a few plays later on 3rd and 1 the Pats were called for another personal foul penalty. Extending the drive more. Ben Dreith(the ref) didn't ref another Pats game for 5 more seasons.
Pats Raiders such an underrated rivalry. Always was a close game when they played in the playoffs 70's, 80's and and ofc 2002. Cinderella Patriots shut out the Raiders in the second half for the W.
oh wow yeah we do what we want hey dude watch out for Moko these people are evil.. because I made them so much money that they could create a hedge fund and a synthetic CDO
Given the epic Super Bowl debacle for New England, I wonder if some Patriots or their fans would have actually hoped to have lost to the Raiders? Is it better to go to the "Big Dance" and get totally embarrassed, or to not go at all?
Greatest NFL decade!!!
The narrator John Tesh deserves way more recognition and credit. As I understand he composed the very inventive music - and it changes in 85 and 87 so a massive amount - and even the script is inspiring and helped get me into racing 32 years ago.
I’m here for the Lee Trevino swings. He was really something
Mike Scott was so good in this series that the Mets were glad to face Ryan, normally someone who scared teams he faced!!!!!!!!
Let us be real Phil was usurpped by Tesh. He will never be as good as Phil. Phil has been calling the race since 1972. And the music is ameeicanized and over cooked. Imo as a pro musician. Overcooked keybpards are never a good thing 😂
This coverage was awesome w John Tesh and Phil Liggett .....I was lucky to see the world championship race in Colorado that year ...thx for the blast from the past 👍

The twins were stealing signs year and in the playoffs ..they should have never scored all those run against that tigers staff ...
I read "Slaying the Badger" years ago and have seen videos from this race so many times. I've always been on Greg Lemonds side, but I'm beginning to change my mind these days. I've been listening to Lemond being a victim for years now in every regard. I so, so agree with him in his battle against Armstrong and so on, and I also agree with the fact that Hinault sort of promised to help him in 1986. BUT... at this point I just look back at Lemond complaining and complaining all the time. It has just become enough by now. Everybody is against him all the time. It's like he demands that no one tries to battle him in 86. Hell, you have to be the best to win the biggest race. How can yu demand, that the second best rider holds back? It's just wining. Just go out there and beat him, if you are the superior one. He also cried his eyes out about losing in 92. Hell, half the peloton was better at that point. He was sitting in the back eventhough those guys weren't racing faster than they had in 1986. It was you losing the edge, not the others all of a sudden going faster. Stop complaining and crying about it. It just build up over time. Go out and beat Hinault instead of you and your wife crying endlessly about not having the victory giftrapped from the beginning till the end!
That third strike to Evans in the first inning was in the next county.
This is just great! Thanks for the show!
The Astros Sadly were the better team here
not a chance; their hitting was awful, they were only good because they had Mike Scott; Ryan had only an ok series and the rest of their starters sucked, the bullpen was less than stellar too; the Mets had not played a meaningful game in months and came into this series rusty while the Astros were already in playoff mode having to hold off their division opponents until the last day!!!!!!!!
When MLB was at its best. To bad it’s all been ruined
48:43 Camera man got Nailed!!
That was a very bad giants team
6:25 Indurain ?
Always loved to watch the Raiders and Al Davis knocked off. It's been a long time Las Vegas Traitors.
That image of Alex Stieda in the yellow jersey with his arms raised @ 27:59 was the front page image of "The Globe and Mail" Newspaper from Canada after he took over the race lead.
