I'm new to roller derby (still fresh meat) and I really don't know what wheels to go with. Right now I'm skating on radar halo I believe 91 or 92a I think they might be a little soft but I'm also afraid to go with a harder wheel because I might die (there's a huge crack in our practice floor) if you find a wheel you love let me know I'll give it a try.

i just got the periwinkle pair and im so glad i ordered a tool and loosened my trucks because you could barely turn in them the trucks were so tight

I'm terrified of falling backwards, how do you keep your back so straight while bending your knees and skating backwards?

I havent watched skate content for some time now so i hope imparla have fixed all their old issues now that they are over $200aud and made of vinyl. Yeah , yeah i know the clever marketing strategy they have beenuseing for year by making them sound like quality by saying their vegan but lets be frank here, at the end of the day one wants a cheap vinyl skate that splits at the heel cup after a few goes with a almost non existent customer service department that ghosts you if you try to get a refund on poorly made skates. And $222.00 and no tool? Tight asses. Crazy skates that's now marked to a kids marked, they give you a tool and stickers. ( My daughter has crazy skates and has the popjam skate and fantastic customer service ) So have impala fixed their issues before something is hot pink doesn't make these a selling point and the rubbing straight up with the memory form on the first try on is not good, it's going to compress and be less padded in no time flat..

Just food ur videos I used to skate. I was never very good but at 65 I want to skate again. What’s suggestion would you suggest for kneepads elbow pads, and wrist pads is there a certain company thank you. I appreciate it and I am very much enjoying and learning from you.

When pivoting, I was somehow under the impression that you pivot on toes when turning backwards and on heels when turning to the front. Did I imagine that? Does it matter? Is it just preference or is it truly a must? I prefer to pivot on my toes, but I get the sense that doing that when pivoting from back to front at high speeds may spell trouble..... Help?

Hey. I have a question about derby. I am a new skater and new to derby, I started my journey at the beginning of this year, and have learnt so much and loving it. I need advice for the emotional stuff. I am getting so frustrated with myself, and trying so hard to learn basic drills and have been using your videos to help get my head around drills. Yet still struggling with the basics. So much so I ended up get emotional about it. Is the normal to get so emotional about not getting drills down?

I’m looking for further explanation on wheels. There are so many options out there and as a beginner, I’m overwhelmed. What are the differences? Where I’m located, I don’t have a local roller skate shop to try things on or ask for help. I love skating at rinks and now buying my first pair of skates & gear- going straight to a nicer skate: Antik Skyhawks. I don’t see a hybrid wheel option when buying their full set. Because they’re expensive, I want to be intentional with my purchase. I intend to skate in rinks and parks. 1:50
