Valley of Flowers Trek | Offbeat Location of Uttarakhand, Aug 24 Trekking Through Himalayan Paradise
The Valley of Flowers trek is one of India’s most popular treks in the Himalayas. People who haven’t even stepped into the Himalayas, have heard about the Valley of Flowers trek. In 1980, the Indian government created the Valley of Flowers National Park, and later in 2002, it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This pushed Valley of Flowers on the bucket list of trekkers from around the world.
The Valley of Flowers is a 4 km climb from Ghangria. We cross the checkpost after entering our names in the register, and paying a nominal fee of 200 Rs. There is a stream coming down from the left, and one has to cross it over a makeshift bridge. The path goes down, and there is an iron bridge over Pushpawati river which hurtles down with great fury, and meets Lakshman Ganga at Ghangria. Exotic flowers start right from here. Climbing up from the bridge, the path is narrow and the river is way down below, with rocky slopes on both sides. We feel thirsty and fill our bottle with the stream water, which is cold and clear and tastes like mineral water (which it is, literally) with a slight overdose of minerals. The vast expanse of the valley is beautiful, and there are meadows of flowers as if somebody is maintaining a huge flower farm. Big stretches of Himalayan Balsam, which is the most predominant flower of the valley.

Yes open rehta h October end tak but flowers june to September hi rehte hain.
Kya sep third week m Jana safe hoga vha ?
Valley of Flowers ka season hi 3 month ka hota hai, July to September and we know ki ye rainy season hota hai so poori tarah safe to nahi hote ye month so thoda carefully and proper guidance se jana chahiye.

try to avoid travel in rainy season
Hello friend, Many thanks for your concern. The best time to visit Valley of Flowers is from July to September. This trek is open only for four months. Also, I have friends and acquaintances along the entire route and we started our journey only after knowing the condition of the roads and weather from them. Further, ten days ago the monsoon was not that severe in Badrinath or Chamoli region. However you are right, everything should be kept in mind before traveling to the mountains and you should have all possible ways to escape in case of emergency :)
