No way that made the pig happy. Now that is can't have babies you are going to kill the poor piglet and eat it. Also, this put the pig in a lot of pain how would you feel if this happened to you and your head was in a bucket with your legs pried apart and they were ripping your skin ( making you bleed) and they removed your... The pig was probably in unbearable pain. You think getting a paper cut hurts? Why do we do this then? Put the pig to sleep for a little while, do the castration, and then it will wake up and not have felt any pain... Thank A LOT for this video...

I didn't know that was the name of these. I grew up as a country girl.. my momma would make them and she called them Pecker Pad.. it what we called them.. I'm a Cajun from south Louisiana :) Just thought I share another name that was used in our household.

Thank you for the video I am just getting into having my own pigs I currently have 4 that I trapped wild they range from 45 to 70lb I have two sow an two boars I was told castrating them phatens them up along with making the meat better to eat my question to you is tgst true and does it have to be done that young are can I still do it know I would only like to keep one a boar for breeding purposes an castrate the other. Any advice are knowledge would be appreciated. Thank you for your video. I was also told at this point if the size they are I can also tie off above the nuts an in a few weeks they will come off on there own.

Just a thought. I don't know about yours, but our local feed stores have disposable scalpels for a couple bucks. Super sharp. Seems like each one is good for about two pigs. Quick fast cuts and no need for the sawing action. Other than that looks good, short of a school/display how to session, I've never seen or been part of a clean pig castrating. Iodine is cheaper than alcohol also and works just as good, before, after then a quick blue coat spray.

I have some concerns about the age of the pigs, and also the hygiene of the operator, I really think some plastic gloves changed after each pig has been operated on.
