Ever since packing his family in their mini-van in 2012 and road-tripping across the U.S. ala National Lampoon's Vacation (thankfully without all of the catastrophes), Michael Strawderman has had an unquenchable thirst for the open road and experiencing all that our great country has to offer. Unlike most websites, there's nothing to buy on Travelhound. It's simply a website chocked full of fun and informative videos that Michael has produced about his personal travel adventures over the years. While his post-retirement dream job would be to get paid for travelling around the U.S. and producing videos for unique destinations, he would also be happy if he was able to get enough "likes" and subscribers on his featured videos on TH-cam that he could monetize his passion (hint, hint).
Travelhound visits the Wisconsin Dells
In this episode, Travelhound skips the lines at the Wisconsin Dells' numerous water parks to explore the area's namesake and natural attractions - a breathtaking 5-mile gorge along the Wisconsin River carved by the forces of nature. Highlights of his journey include a ride on a WW II-era DUKW/duck boat, a hike through a slot canyon, and lunch at a unique restaurant where the meal is delivered right to your table by a miniature train!

Silence the Stupidity: The Redskins name controversy
Really enjoyed your video. You do a good job of showing natural and man-made attractions and your voice is pleasing for the narration. I hope you make many more videos covering places to travel!
Thanks for watching and the compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Be sure to check out the other videos on my channel that highlight other destinations in the good ol' USA!
Truly magnificent…🏰
Great job capsulizing the highlights. We were short on time and couldn't even bring ourselves to check out Wall Drugstore (I had two opportunities, one as a child of 12 years and one this past summer), but both times we were very anxious to head on home!
Sorry to hear that you missed out on Wall Drug but glad that you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this! You’re still my favorite teacher ever!
Very interesting and entertaining. Thanks, Travelhound!
Thanks for watching!

very good video. Well done! I'm a travel you tuber too and appreciate your style. New sub!
Thanks for watching!
I've been there before its cool
I was there as a kid with my parents in the late 1980s.
Citizen Kane, a movie in which an eccentric immures himself in a palace called Xanadu
a prison built for ones self
I recognize that dog. We've hiked with him before.
I found a poem written on an antique book describing a man from Xanadu and it led me to this video. I don't know if this person meant this location but it may come close. I found the book in Ridgecrest, California.
Impressive how much little people now about illuminati paradise on earth in these days.
William Hears son Randolph was born the same year as Orson welles 1915.
Hey Mr.Strawderman I’m Josue
why are you awake at this time? also this is me Rayden. Im only awake because I have to watch my brother
You shouldn’t mess with ghosts ya know
all these names are like 100 yrs old so people back then didn’t really care, and the names don’t hurt anyone
Sup
The best way to confront ghost hunters.
This video is sooo fucking dumb it's not even funny. Those poles where proven wrong. Also when you call somebody by a name for years they start to believe it..
I think Alan Quimby has a ghostbuster uniform
All of you that think they should change the name... Are really ignorant and deserve too burn in hell
Why should you get to decide what's offensive and what's not? If you attach a term to someone and THEY find it offensive who are you to say it's not? You're a racist idiot
The real racists are those who demand a private company to change their name and logo
What does that have anything to do with racism? Your arguments don't even make sense
I am sorry. If you cannot figure it out, then I seriously doubt that you would understand any amount of explanations given
Citizen Kane's Xanadu is inspired by Shangdu (a.k.a. Xanadu), capital of Kublai Khan's Yuan dynasty in China.
YPO6 And pronounced with a z not x like the narrator is saying. Seems like they would do research on how things are pronounced.
Guys I think when he meant silencing the stupidity he meant the media "silencing" HIS stupidity.
Defending racism, so you suck.
Don't YOU have something better to do, like fertilize your crops, or take care of your pregnant cousin that you knock out.
silence this video, silence the stupidity
31 people are smart enough to know when they are being BSing, 83 are complete retards
This is an absolutely dishonest, and ignorant video. You have presented a piece of propaganda bullshit, whats worse is that you present it as factual and the level of ignorance towards Native Americans you show in you're video is astounding. I would strongly urge you to educate you're self about Native American people if in the future you plan to talk about us, because when you make ignorant, bullshit movies like this, you are just perpetuating the cycle of ignorance, violence, and hatred of Native American people. I actually feel sorry for you.
Dishonest? Propoganda? I defy you to disprove ANYTHING that is mentioned in this video. I feel sorry for folks like you who get their panties in a wad over such inane mascot names.
Michael Strawderman Like i said, DISHONEST PROPAGANDA. You say nothing about the over 300 of the 563 federal tribes that have vocally opposed the teams name, the NAAI (nat assc of amer ind), the NAACP, the congress of Native Americans, the NCAA, sport's psychologists, and theres 100's more, have all voiced opposition, and demanded the team change it's name. You cite the Annenberg survey ( 90 % of Native Americans not offended) SORRY TO DISAPPOINT, BUT IT'S A BULLSHIT, AND DISHONEST SURVEY. Of the approx. 700 respondent's in one city, all were self identified Native Americans having shown no proof, or documentation of tribal enrolment, and you say nothing about how the profits from the casino's goes to fund children's college grant's, or tribal health center's, and houses for tribal member's, or road's........No, No i've been fighting you pro redskins people for many years, and most of ya'll are all the same, you guy's dont see a problem with the word, because you dont want to see a problem. You dont have a clue, nor do ya'll want a clue. You PRO REDSKINS fanatic's, are DISMISSIVE OF NATIVE PEOPLES, and you are VERY ARROGANT you guy's know it's a bad, and offensive word, and ya'll know it's derogatory, thats why ya'll put out these BULLSHIT, PROPAGANDA to appease you're guilty conscience.
doyle brooks Sorry to disappoint you but I have a completely clear conscience when it comes to the Redskins name - I still don't get how it's a BAD and OFFENSIVE name, especially, as my video clearly points out, there are still a number of predominately Native American high schools across the U.S. that are still using the Redskins moniker. You'd think that these schools would be busting their asses to change the name, but it doesn't seem to bother them. It's probably because they still consider the name as one of pride since, historically, a number of tribes used red paint on their faces before going to battle against white (can I say that word without being a racist?) people who ran them off of their land as well as slaughtered them. I've always thought of the word as an allusion to the "warrior" side of the Native Americans - a sense of pride & duty for defending their beliefs, lands, and way of life. I know it might be hard for you to believe, but I wholeheartedly believe that this country's "white" forefathers totally screwed over the Native Americans - I'd be pissed too. As for Ray Halbritter, I don't dispute that the casino's profits are being used to benefit the members of the Oneida Nation tribe and I don't have a problem with that at all. If you do a little research on Mr. Halbritter however, you may discover that not all members of Oneida Nation are happy with the way he's handling the profits as well as padding his own pockets. Did you hear that he's getting ready to open a new casino in upstate New York that honors L. Frank Baum, the author of "The Wizard of Oz"? Seems a little odd that a man who is so "up in arms" about the name of a frickin' football team doesn't seem to have a problem with honoring a man who was in favor of TOTAL genocide of thel Native American population. Doesn't that strike you as being extremely hypocritical? Nope, despite your opinion, I stand behind my video; it was very well researched (you may have noticed that I credited all of my legitimate resources at the end of the video - perhaps you didn't make it that far). The bottom line, as I pointed out in the video, remains the same - the hysteria over the "Redskins" name simply doesn't add up.
Michael Strawderman dude, you're white.
+doyle brooks can you please explain how a name like this perpetuates violence and hatred towards your people? (I don't know anything about this subject in particular... just asking)
As much as you'd like to tell me the term "Redskin" is not offensive, I have to disagree. It is offensive to myself, and my family. I don't speak for all First Nation people, nor does anyone. Simply, regardless of what it may have meant in the past, it is certainly deemed offensive as of now. You wouldn't go onto a reservation and start calling people 'redskins' to their faces. My question is this... Knowing full well that it offends more than a few people, why would you want it kept?
He tries to defend the name by offending Natives even more with his stereotype racist questions to non natives
Try sending these polls to the tribes themself, than see how many natives find this offensive. Stop doing polls where anyone can claim there native. The name is offense and natives are not mascots this goes to all sports teams.
Sorry, did I just hear an american complain that Natives are getting into this country's politics? What.
okay this argument was completely senseless and utterly fatuous.
Fifty years ago this clown would be defending the use of the n-word. This clown sees problems with the Unitas using their money and clout but probably misses it when rich white people do the same.
Don't cast racist aspersions at me without knowing who I am. I find the n-word to be highly offensive. Comparing the n-word to "redskins" however is like comparing apples to oranges - they're not the same. The name "redskin" has NOTHING to do with the color of Native American's skin. It refers to the color that they painted their skin when going into battle. Why don't you try and enlighten your overly sensitive psyche and watch this video: www.mrctv.org/blog/real-story-behind-redskins-name. Oh yeah, by the way, you may want to brush up on your spelling of Native American tribe names as well. The tribe in upstate New York is called "Oneida" not "Unitas" you idiot.
Michael Strawderman Yeah, that's why they named the team Redskins (sarcasm). For the NFL, It's a gimmick that perpetuates a stereotype; always has been, always will be. Read a dictionary; research American history; the number of offenses against Native Americans is overwhelming. This has been a long argument finally reaching the mainstream. The apples and oranges comparison is correct. Society now knows the n-word is taboo, society does not know redskin is not. The divide is ignorance, arrogance, and sophomoric logic.
Pssstt.......hey buddy! When explaining the Onyota'a:ka or the PEOPLE OF THE STANDING STONE you should do your research. They are not only in NY but also in WI. and they damn sure don't live in teepees or carve totem polls as you so graciously depicted in your racist cartoon. As far as some natives, (the polls are bull, do your research) I think back and say, well, Custer even had scouts right!? And, if it wasn't racist then ask yourself this......would you go onto any reservation throughout Native country and say, "Yo, what up there REDSKIN?" NO! You wouldn't. Why? Because you know it is a racist and derogatory term. Good try though.
haha done as soon as you put put 90% of natives didnt find the use of redskin offensive you do know that poll is on the redskins page and taken from self proclaimed indians which means you can walk up and pull them my great grandma had this much cherokee.
For a nation that has stolen the Native American land, and then destroy and almost demolished their entire culture, the LEAST ...and after all thatI mean very least... is to change the name of a stupid sports team. Change the Washington Re*****ins logo
Brought to you by the Redskin franchise
Good Job on the Video! It does appear that the vast majority of Native Peoples do not find it offensive, rather they are proud of it. ( Constructive Critique: When referring to White People as being "flesh colored", whose "flesh color" are we talking about? Obviously there are many "colors" out there, not just that of White People. Just trying to help, not slam you )
