Landers Reef - 4K Scuba Diving - Aliwal Shoal, South Africa
Landers Reef is a beautiful isolated pinnacle on the southern reefs of the Aliwal Shoal Marine Protected Area. The site rises up from 32m to 23m on the top of the pinnacle. The site is best dived when the current is low because it can be hard to stay on the top of the reef when it is running strong.
Unusual sightings include goldribbon soapfish, lyretail hogfish, weedy scorpionfish and on rare occasions, thresher sharks.

MV Produce Wreck, Aliwal Shoal Scuba Diving 4K - 04/08/2024
มุมมอง 423หลายเดือนก่อน
An awesome dive on the MV Produce, a Norwegian bulk carrier which sank around 50 years ago after striking the Shoal. This enormous wreck is home to dense shoals of fish as well as the large predators that hunt them. On this dive we saw a group of six enormous Brindle Bass/Giant Groupers, which is quite unusual because they are generally solitary. Max Depth: 32m Current: Moderate Water Temp: 22C

Roonies - Sodwana Bay - Dive Sites of South Africa 4K
มุมมอง 8222 หลายเดือนก่อน
Roonies is a dive site just off 2-Mile Reef at Sodwana Bay, South Africa. This is a small, flattish, isolated piece of rocky reef that is suitable for advanced divers due to it's depth. What the site lacks in topography it makes up for in density of rare and unusual species. On the northern end of the site is a huge yellow-green black coral tree and on the southern end there is an isolated bomm...
Stringer Reef - Sodwana Bay Scuba Diving 4K - June 2024
มุมมอง 8K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Stringer Reef, Sodwana Bay, South Africa. We had exceptional conditions on this dive. Stringer Reef is a small but beautiful dive site that is generally difficult to film because it is only 9-14m deep and is usually very surgy with lots of sand churning. On this day however we had a very flat sea with great visibility.
7-Mile Reef - Sodwana Bay Scuba Diving 4K
มุมมอง 2.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
A dive on the beautiful and world-renowned 7-Mile Reef at Sodwana Bay. This reef is known for it's lovely topography and large shoals of fish, including snappers, slinger and fusiliers.
Aliwal Shoal Scuba Diving 4K - Pinnacles and North Sands - March 2024
มุมมอง 1.8K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Aliwal Shoal, South Africa with ScubaXcursion Diving. Excellent conditions with great visibility and low current which allowed me to shoot with natural light on these shallower sites. Lots of action on the Shoal with plentiful rays, sharks and schooling fish. Visibility: 25-30m Current: Low Sea Temp: 26C Max depth: 16m
Produce Wreck - Aliwal Shoal, South Africa - 4K Scuba Diving - 20/03/2024
มุมมอง 4395 หลายเดือนก่อน
Making the most of some gloomy conditions. The visibility was only 5-8m with quite a bit of silt in the water which made the bottom quite dark. This is always a beautiful wreck though with huge amounts of fish life including the rare Harlequin Goldie (Pseudanthias connelli). Max Depth: 32m Water Temp: 26C Current: Low Visibility: 5-8m

Sodwana Bay Scuba Diving - February 2024 - 4K
มุมมอง 22K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Video of the weekend's dives at Sodwana Bay, South Africa. The dive sites in order of appearance in the video are Simon's Cave, Mellow Yellow, Hopscotch (multiple dives) and Roonies. Due to high winds and big seas we only dived sites on 2-Mile Reef this trip. The water was a very warm 26-28C. Light to medium current and quite a bit of surge due to the large swells, so only wide-angle video was ...
Cooper Light Wreck Scuba Diving 4K - Durban - 07/01/2024
มุมมอง 9328 หลายเดือนก่อน
A Durban Undersea Club dive to the Cooper Light Wreck. The identity of this wreck is unknown so it is named after the nearby Cooper Lighthouse at Treasure Beach on Durban Bluff. The site is infamous for low visibility and strong currents, but we were lucky to have good conditions on this dive. Max Depth: 30m Dive time: 52 minutes Visibility: 10-15m Current: Low Water Temp: 22-23C
Lander's Reef, Aliwal Shoal Scuba Diving - 4K Underwater Video - 03/12/2023
มุมมอง 8969 หลายเดือนก่อน
A dive on the beautiful Lander's Reef, south of Aliwal Shoal and east of Rocky Bay. Decent conditions but not an easy day with the camera due to a lot of surge and large particles of plankton in the water. Quite a strong thermocline and the bottom was chilly, though at least better visibility than the surface. Max depth: 32m Current: Low Visibility: 5-15m Sea Temp: 18C

incredible footage. Need to hop on the next one and see this for myself.
beautiful dive site ! The grouper is huge !
@@deepdowndrey There were 6 of the groupers together. I think they were breeding because they are usually solitary.
@@sa_underwater wow ! Such a great meeting :D
wow! These varied shoals are wonderful
From what I heard Ornate Sleeper Ray was supposed extinct and last seen in 2007. But some diver from extinct and alive the land of lost sharks already rediscovered this species.
@@sarrahimnottellingu1915 That was me on Extinct or Alive. It was never declared extinct but it is fairly rare. I have seen quite a few specimens since the show aired and I also took the first in-situ photographs of a Flapnose Houndshark (was also featured on that episode) a few weeks ago.
@@sa_underwater Oh thanks man for telling me was you who rediscovered this ray. I do remember since you show Forrest Galante about that video you show him and another man.

Amazing .... just incredible. Love the editing too.
Hi, I'm busy with a PhD project concerning SA coastline, including reef life. Please could someone from South Africa Underwater make contact with me soonest.
Hi Janet. I don't want to post details on here but I think I found you on Facebook and I sent a request. Adrian
In 36-odd years of diving I've never got to dive this site so envious of how amazing you make it look, knowing it's often a difficult wreck to dive... watching this footage in high-res 4K is mind-blowing... beautiful footage as always and such a joy to see... thanks for sharing... 🙏😍🎉
Thanks. It's one of the best sites in SA on a good day. Extremely dense fish life.
Wonderful footage.
Thank you so much for sharing these videos, this is so unexpected with the focus on soft corals. The species are like an in-between of carribean corals and fluffy indo-pacific gorgonians and dendronephthyas. I think i could spot many basket stars in the bigger red soft corals? Night dives must be beautiful. It also reminds me of my own place's ecosystem, Quebec's freezing waters, with the ocean floor and walls filled with invertebrates. There seems to be plenty of beautiful ornamented sharks, morays... i'll keep up with your videos. Wish i can see more macro shots of your place in the future
What a wonderful video. I can honestly say this was the most wonderful dive ive ever had. You captured it perfectly.
Beautiful 😍
Incredible!
Nice. Who were you diving with?
We had quite a big group so we dived with Amoray. For smaller groups we usually dive with SeaXplore. Almost all of the Sodwana charters are good though.
Ah man I miss this place!
Must be nevs ledge! I miss those guys
Stunning footage as always, I just LOVE how your video lights bring pure magic to the reef... 😍
Thanks! Anyone diving these reefs without a torch is really missing out. The reds and oranges all look grey otherwise.
Lovely. Superb marine life and great filming. May I know the camera used?
Thanks. It's a Panasonic GH5II.
Scotties!! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. 🎉
WOW the quality of that video at 4K is just mental, what a fascinating reef indeed, can see the current running a bit in it, another cracking video, thanks for sharing 🤩
Lovely. I never see that many there, usually only 4 or five.
Great video Adrian. Man I love T-Barge!
Yeah same, always a fun dive even with mediocre viz.
Stunning video, thanks for sharing, I always so love seeing your posts... 🙏🤩
Great footage, you did great keeping them in frame👍 look forward to more videos 😃
