After multiple attempts I finally managed to catch my 2nd Montana Rail Link unit down in Texas. This time post BNSF reacquirement. Lots of short pieces. Not good
It’s power varies, I caught it once with 1 sd70ace in the lead and a gevo as a mid dpu. I guess it’s because of loads and weight of the train plus length

It's been on rotation for awhile now. Took me 3 attempts to finally get it haha. First time I just got to see but got dark on me and it never moved. Second time I missed it by just a few minutes when it was headed north. So glad 3rd time was the charm here. Hope you get to catch it though!!

2 classic idiot drivers there! Geez! Nice catch bud, I’ve always wondered what’s the point of the two open top hoppers they seem to always put on these welded rail trains?
Not really a specific purpose, they’re just to serve as buffer cars in case the rail flies forward or backwards when they come for a stop.
