Removing the clock from the Cake pan?? Release???
Nice video. Did you have any trouble with air pockets forming in the casings, or did the epoxy make their way into all of them?
@barretthouchen623 thank you I was worried about air pockets or floating but had no problem with either. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for posting this. I had a similar problem with mine… it wasn’t orbiting, and tended to hop when I was using it on a flat piece of plywood. Took it apart like you did, and found that the clear belt was on, but that little wheel was cinched down so tight that it was also cinching the belt. I eased off the screw just a bit and it freed up the belt and allowed the little wheel to turn. Worked fine after that.
Where's the link to the rubber belt?
Did you wash casings 1st?
@@DiF-y7i I bought then cleaned and just used them like that. Thank you for asking.
what wood species and monocoat colors did you use on that serving tray?
Wood species I used was black walnut and Elm for the coasters and Elm wood for the serving tray. Sorry about the delayed response.
How do you cut your finger grooves? Thanks.
On a router table cut the grove while the board is square then cut the curves. Hope that helps. Thanks for checking.
How did you cut handles?
Cool setup& ideas, for optional living on the road.
Thank you for the good tip about using the fence and mitre gauge together safely.
Do your boards ever warp when you water pop? I’ve water popped 1.5 inch thick end grain maple and they warp
I have never had a problem with the boards warping from water popping. I just water pop with a wet sponge or rag not a submersion or real wet.
@@williamsparks5374 thank you for the response I will try that. I spray with a bottle cuz that’s what I’ve seen on TH-cam 🤷🏻♂️
keep up the good work
Do you need to water pop end grain cutting boards? Why are you using long grain instead of edge grain?
Happy New Year!!! I also water pop end grain boards.
I do also water pop the edge grain cutting boards. Sorry about the slow response I did not see your comment. Thanks for watching!!
@@williamsparks5374 very good. that's okay, I have started making charcuterie, cutting, and butcher boards. I have not sold any yet or finished one. This has been a very frustrating and aggravating experience. I have started on one board. It is osage orange from the crotch, and the wood is very beautiful. I have finished one side using lots of sandpaper and time and I treated it with Watco cutting board sealer. I used that because I have read that so many people who use mineral spirits-based treatments have to get their boards retreated after a year or so and with Watco, the treatment lasts several years between applications. The other side will be the cutting board side as that side has the best edge grain. You can see the grain of the wood from either end and while both sides are edge grain, the 2nd side has the best. I am a retired tool and die maker and I will be using my machine shop techniques and craftsmanship skills in this adventure.
Wheris the water popping part uiu just sandrd
I forgot to record the water popping.
Did you flood coat the back of the coasters?
I did not coat the backs of the coasters but would recommend it so the wood is more stable.
Great job..... Okaay 😉
Great idea for the sled!
That should do it! 👍 Enjoy the road 👍🚙🏞
Love it!!
Thanks for sharing..
Genial, excelente, muchas gracias
Thanks for the video. How long do you let it dry before handling?
Hi sorry did not get right back to you I have been away. it is dry in 24 hours but not fully cured for 7 days. hope that helps thanks BJ
@@williamsparks5374 no problem thanks!
Appreciate the info on the maintenance oil. Was curious all info I’ve seen says only sand to 120 or 150 for Rubio to properly bond. That’s what I’ve been doing. Like your higher sheen. Does Rubio bond same at higher grit sanding? Do you need to water pop first?
Thank you for watching!! I have not had a problem with it bonding. I do not water pop the grain, but you can. I like the higher sheen on the pieces.
i would be thinking that the frame holding the router would flex to much when using it once it get to be 3 foot or wider making your work piece not fully flat. Interesting concept thou
Thank you for watching. 4' is about as wide as you can go without adding reinforcement to keep it flat. Thank you for the input.
Great video William. I have made some coasters using KSResin high temp epoxy but it's not reacting well to hot coffee cups. Do you know if Rubio will assist in protecting against marks where the epoxy is failing?
Hi I am not real familiar with High temp Epoxy. I am not sure how the hot coffee cup will do with the Mono coat. I have never tested it. You might want to look into a ceramic finish for the final coat that is a hard finish. Hope that helps. Thanks
Великолепно!
Awesome product. Just what I need, please advise where you purchased from.
Hey I missed your message you can purchase the form at the below links. I have a few different models. Thank you for your interest and comment. B.J. www.etsy.com/shop/uniqueitemsBywiliam www.ebay.com/str/wspa2538
That’s beautiful!! Good job!
Is it adjustable?
Yes the dividers in the form are adjustable.
Are you joking? 😂
@@2Much2lose he said adjustable so many times I have to question if it’s adjustable.
We usually apply 7 days after it sets up.
I have checked many woodworking plan sites. I think the instructions from Stodoys are the best.
Hello, great video ,do you have the name of company that made mold or sell it ? Having trouble finding the mold, randycamplin@gmail.com, you can reach me ,thanks
Won’t the epoxy stick to the metal?
You use multiple coats of paste wax and the epoxy will not stick to the metal. You also need to seal up the adjustable sleeve with silicone so the epoxy does not go inside. Here is a video showing the release. th-cam.com/video/F8DTqWkIJcQ/w-d-xo.html
Good job!
Where can you buy those metal sleeves?
You can purchase the metal sleeves at either my e-bay store or etsy store. Here are the links below.
