Hello. My name is Brenda. I like making videos about obscure pop culture history and defunct stores/themeparks.
This Isn't the Video You Want (Bigboy Graveyard Preview)
TH-cam said I had to upload a video or I would lose my monetization and my adsense, and that stuff took SO LONG to get in the first place so, I'm not losing it.

A Brief History of the Pokemon Center New York
มุมมอง 56K4 ปีที่แล้ว
For a brief moment in time, the United States had their own Pokemon Center. Opening in 2001, closed in 2005, the pokemon center NYC left a lasting legacy, and shaped the future for all Pokemon Centers outside of Japan. This video would not have been possible without the Pokemon Center New York Historical website. pokemoncenternewyork.com/ Retro Alli's video on Pokemon Center NYC. th-cam.com/vid...

A Brief History of Animatronic Restaurants

This was an incredibly wild ride. By the way, my favorite animatronic is The King. He’s nine feet tall. He is 700 entire pounds. He is a BIG BOY. I am really angry that I found out about this after the video was done. Turns out, Charles Entertainment Cheese has to be destroyed beyond recognition too. www.atlasobscura.com/articles/chuck-e-cheese-corporate-policy-destroying-head "Former employees...

I don't know if this makes any sense, but here you go. None of my friends from Battle Creek contributed, so you get me talking about how much I dislike corporations for a bit. You've been warned.
At Least We Tried EP 1: Six Flags Autoworld
มุมมอง 11K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Autoworld is an integral part of Flint's history. A story of gross government mismanagement, and ill founded optimism. I lived in Flint, and I wanted to tell the world about this little known theme park. Thank you.
I was convinced they were going to let the people pay for it, build it, let it fail and then make it into a casino, which would have been a better idea than what happened. The whole "gambling would bring in the criminal element" argument is absolute BS in Flint.
It's law in Michigan that casinos must be built on Native land, except for three state-owned ones in Detroit. The area is doing well as an extension of the college.
wait woodsy wasnt just from southpark:O
The clock is the coolest thing I didn't know i wanted
7:51 why is rock just staring at me???💀💀💀
Bring back Original Woodsy!
Wait a minute...
I think rock the croc is my school moto lol
I always thought Woodsy was designed by the Kroffts.
I just pretend the new Woodsy doesn't exist. There is only one Woodsy for me! My husband bought me a t-shirt with the real Woodsy, and I get a lot of comments on it. People *do* remember, and they love the real Woodsy!
Almost no one ever mentions that kids at CEC around 1999 would tell each other the animatronics could walk off the stage and eat you. Did that only happen to me?! Was I the only one playing FNAF that said “It was only a matter of time before someone made that a horror game”???
It was a pretty cool museum.
#englishorspanishwhoevertalksaboutfnafisgay spread the word
Fnaf geez come down how there mechanical endoskeltons
Did Randy from Randy land buy them?
Hey um... little update, but almost exactly 40 years to the date after the opening of Autoworld in Flint, Michigan now has another Six Flags Park. On July 1. 2024 Michigan's Adventure, as well as all of the other parks in Cedar Fair's portfolio, merged into the Six Flags corporation, now meaning Michigan's Adventure is a Six Flags Park.
I say bring them back!
“Like a phenix” couldn’t think of a Pokémon pun?
Lmao I’m a millennial and I didn’t know Woodsy was real I thought he was just Southpark’s take on Smokey The Bear
Where is it. Tell us
my mom went to major magics. My grandpa showed me this picture where she stood in front of an animated drum with a face. I wanted to find this and found it out of no where while writing a book about animatronics and mostly listening and somewhat watching this video
40 years ago. Great memories for that brief time.
5 hour Woodsy history when?!?!?!?
I am a Flint, Michigan resident and I had no idea this place even existed until today (6-17-24)
I loved this store beyond belief as a child. Just went to the one in Burbank and it really hit home.
You’ve been busy for 3 YEARS
Woodsy honestly should have held on to both his old design and original "Give a hoot! Don't pollute." motto. He really should also have been used in advertisements to this day like Smokey Bear, such as ones where he teaches children about the three major pollution types: land, air, and water (not counting one water pollution ad way back from 1986), as well as noise, light, thermal, and radioactive pollution. (With air, not just land, being in the natural areas as well, that would simply be a fine reason for the "Give a hoot! Don't Pollute." slogan to remain...) Furthermore, pretty much like how there are those brown Smokey Bear "Fire Danger Today" signs, there should have been signs like that with Woodsy as well. Only the Woodsy ones should have been saying "Land/Air/Water Quality Today" instead, while the smaller varicolored square part of those signs read how good or unhealthy these natural area lands, air, and waters are. And of course, the base part of those signs would be saying the iconic "Give a Hoot! Don't Pollute!" slogans. P.S. The Smokey Bear ads also should have talked about even more than the have other the decades, like how to pick the the correct campfire spot, how you should not use a lawnmower on windy and/or especially hot or dry days, and the different types of backyard debris burning (not counting one such backyard debris burning ad from 2017). There additionally should have been at least a couple Smokey ads promoting the importance of prescribed fires (yeah, THOSE Smokey ads and the ones about choosing the right campfire spot would be the perfect way for Smokey to not have his misleading criticism if you ask me...).
Mr. Mackey: No---no more Woodsy!
Glad to see you’re not Dead 👍🗿👍
I actually cannot wait
I'm an avid listener (and supporter) of Max Fun podcasts, and have heard the SHNM promo a bunch of times, but never got around to listening. Didn't realize that was you, and have now subscribed so hard!
Yes it's me and my good friend Austin! I recommend starting from the Max Fun episodes (barney and onward), and Rocket Rods is one of my favs I've done!

@@SnellbyKay hey your welcome Ms Kay ;3
This IS what I’ve been waiting for
Hell yeah
This is the video I wanted! Thank you <3
It NEVER failed! It was the BEST thing Michigan had!
It was doomed from the very beginning. Former Flint, Michigan Resident 1979-1994
Just like to add that Michigan's Adventure was seeing a major push in the late 80s and early 90s prior to its merge into the Cedar Fair company in 2001. A large wooden coaster by the name of Wolverine Wildcat opened in 88, a kiddie wooden coaster called Zach's Zoomer in 1994, the fourth longest wooden roller coaster in the world in 1998, and a wild mouse coaster in 1999. The park also had larger ambitions with a water park opening in 1990 and plans for a 200+ foot tall roller coaster around the turn of the millennium. Even within the state of Michigan Autoworld had major competition. However, both Michigan's Adventure and Autoworld are distant cousins now that MI Adventure is under the Six Flags umbrella.
Did you know there was Bubba Bears pizza theatre in Rancho Mirage?
Woodsy the owl is a child molester
As soon as I saw the picture I knew it was my major magics 🥹 I miss it
I thought south park made him up thank for the video!
Duolingo reminds me of woodsy lol
I never liked the more anthropomorphic Woodsey. It seemed like a human with a deformed head. Since there is no antipollution mascot today, the government, instead, uses intense fear tactics. What is employed to keep the environment clean is an authoritarian, "Clean now! Or, die soon! You are destroying the planet and it is your fault! Your children will die of things you do today! It has never been this bad in the past!" All that is spread are terrifying lies. The planet is far better than it was 50 years ago, even just 40 years ago. I traveled a lot as a lad, with my parents. North America was a giant landfill-like, dismal, disaster, except northern Canada. I remember whirlwinds of garbage, freeways lined with trash, brown air hovering above cities. All of that is gone, with making only rare appearances today. Northern Canada is now eden-like in cleanliness. I made many efforts to move there and have finally moved there in 2004.
that backstory was made for the rockstar era of chuck e cheese. during their 30th anniversary, (back when avenger chuck still roamed stores) it was said in the song he had a family and wasn't an orphan. So this makes rockstar and avenger 2 separate entities.
7:19 Barbra was a retrofit of billbob and beachbear had a retrofit too
I know the company that did the costume of Woodsy. This company was known as Fantasy Fair. A company that existed in San Fernando Rd. in California. They play a part in the story of Knott's Bear-y Tales and its design among other parks...
That's cool info! I might have to look into this in the future!
One of my earliest memories is sitting in that Marvin the Martian rocket in the WB store in the mall. I used to think about that a lot and wonder if I made it up. This was a great video about the store. I also fondly remember coming home from the mall with a Powerpuff girls scooter. I’m not sure if it was also from the WB store but maybe it was since they owned the rights. Also another Hannah Barbara factoid is that the Kings Island Amusement Park in Cincinnati ohio used to have their kids area fully themed with Hanna Barbara characters. There was a scooby doo haunted house ride that was particularly fun. King’s island was bought by another company and then cedar fair and then the kids area was eventually changed to Nickelodeon characters, and then to snoopy.
Thanks for showing, what is your opinion of: "Roger and I" documentary? Some think it mocked Flint citizens, however personally, I found them brave and struggling with an impossible situation.
Fascinating. I love this book and movie. Wish I could have visited.
Pasquale is offensive as hell, and not for any reason involving race or stereotypes. It's for calling that pizza "Italian".
10:10 did they commission Chris Chan to draw that?!

9:30 Literally everything Snellby said is 100% false. Why would Pokémon ever die down? It’s SO popular!
