Leveling Jack Hydraulic Hose Replacement
มุมมอง 973 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video walks through my replacement of a hydraulic hose from my front Lippert Leveling Jack. This is on a 2021 Jayco Northpoint, 387fbts. I am traveling so was unable to put the RV on my truck since I needed it to get the replacement hose. Disconnecting the bottom connection first allows the majority of the fluid to drain from the hose before disconnecting the top fitting.

I keep my sewer system very clean. I flush the tanks regularly. FLUSHING is NOT THE SAME as emptying. Emptying is what people do when the pull the Black or Grey Valve handles. Flushing is when you empty, run your Automatic Tank flush system or use a manual tank cleaning wand or other tools. RULE #1: NEVER! NEVER!! Leave your tanks open while connected to a sewer drain. WHY? Water/liquid in your...

I just did this and now car won’t start. Battery has 13v and is good, all light and stereo work fine. Just doesn’t even attempt to turn starter. Any ideas what I did wrong?
I am unsure, about why it wouldn't start, Sounds like there is something with the ground and perhaps not getting power to Starter. Is the Starter turning over? or just nothing when you turn the key?
Great video. this video fixed my exact problem thanks!
Great video. What is the number for the actual motor? Thanks.
Aren't you supposed to drain the water first?
It is like a normal Water Softener except you are doing a Manual Regeneration. So the water is not drained, since it is in a contained environment it is not dirty, nor contaminated, it is already in the system. You could drain it if you wanted, but you would also need to make sure you do not empty the contents of the water softener crystals that are part of the system. In the description, I did make a note of this, a BACKFLUSH if you want to run water the opposite way through the system, this is really just flushing the system. This is adding of salt to the system in a similar manner as pushing the "regen" button on a home water system.
Ur a clown u talk to much
What about w/o power???
Do you need to disconnect battery? That’s what the book says and does 2:34 your steering wheel. Stay locked if you don’t?
I have a Perko Battery Disconnect on it, and I do disconnect the battery, however, you have to consider your tail lights, so the disconnect still allows tail light battery, I had it installed that way. BUT many times (like on my jeep) I have the power from the RV running the taillights. Also, my steering wheel does not lock, if I shut it off once the transfer case is in N. it is a much more complicated setup than a Jeep. UPDATE, since posting this video I have sold the vehicle.
What were your signs and symptoms?. The reason i asked, my A/C will cool great when first turned on however when it reaches its desired temp and shits off, it wont cool again on restart. Let it sit a while and it will cool again.
We were not getting cool at all. The one thing I did was just open it up and take a look at it and found the problem. Yours sounds like a switching or thermostat switch sensor. But not sure
the seat belts that will never see the light of day ever again XD
This is located in the cabinet above the Drivers seat same place as the awning controls
Where is that located in the rv?
Hey there, my Coleman Mach unit is just not powering on at all, nothing on the display. I am away on a work trip troubleshooting this with my wife who is with the RV. I am assuming the control box could be the culprit if nothing is turning on with the unit, but wanted to see what you thought. Curious if it could be something else. The RV is getting shore power and runs on a generator just fine. My wife was running the AC today and it suddenly turned off, and our Bulldog surge protector tripped red.
I realize you are not there, which makes things more difficult. The first things to try obviously are the circuit breakers. The reason I say that is because your watchdog tripped, which could have popped a circuit breaker (it may not have since it sounds like the watchdog took the hit). Is the watchdog still red? Running on Generator, know that you have to let the Generator run for about 5 minutes to fully power before your A/C will kick on. I typically leave the A/C off, run the generator for about 5 minutes then turn the A/C on. If Circuit breakers are fine and Generator is powered up, and still no A/C there are still some other steps to test. I am not sure of your wife's abilities here but the following may be some steps to take. 1. (POWER OFF) On the ROOF, take the cover off the unit and then there is another cover over the control box. In 1:55 (in the video) then just visually look at it. at 3:09 (in the video) you can see I immediately saw that there was a burnt connection. So first thing to do is visually inspect the system. 2. Check input power, is the system getting power to begin with, You need to check this at the unit, and it typically will be the large RED and BLACK wires coming into the relays. (Sorry I'm not super specific, I am not sure on each unit but on mine it is the RED and BLACK that comes into the Compressor Relay in the control board.) 3. The next are things I have not really done, but you may have burned out a capacitor, (this can be dangerous to check because capacitors retain charges and can retain them even after disconnected) look up how to discharge a capacitor prior to testing it or messing around with it. I am not an Expert on A/C's but hopefully this helps get you started, if not, PLEASE CALL A MOBILE Local RV tech, they will typically be cheaper than a dealer.
That’s great advice, always use a clear elbow to see if your tanks are clean. Keep up the great videos. Hopefully we get to meet up again, next time sitting around a campfire. Paw Paw
I have the same thermostat in my 2017 Tiffin Allegro. The front thermostat is stuck reading Celsius. How do I switch it back to Fahrenheit?
@SteveMcCullough I found the manual for the thermostat online (RV Comfort.HP) On page 1, Note 1 it says to switch the F and C jumper, on page 9 it shows the jumper location. I have not done this before but I am going to look into it The manual is this File Type: pdf RV Comfort.HP Thermostat Model 9530-335.pd
@SteveMcCullough th-cam.com/users/shortsznKb3M-4dZs?si=50rjfk_XSvtYIVeX
@@tbftrev I looked under the cover, but my model has no switch. I discovered it is programmed by holding down the two buttons next to the temperature display. Hold down for about 3-4 seconds and it switches to degrees F or C. I can chage them by moving one button up or down. Then I hold both buttons and it switches to setting the temperature differential. again, one button up or down to change it. The problem is, I can't lock in the new settings. If I hold down both buttons a third time, it just switches back to changing F or C. Maybe it is broken?
just an FYI for a 2021 suburban Premier, I followed these exact instructions and it towed fine but when I went to start it after towing it wouldn’t start and the battery was fine. I had to detach the negative battery terminal to “reset” the system for 20 minutes, reattached it and the car was able to start after that. In re-reading the owner’s manual apparently my car requires you put the transmission into park after you put the transfer case into neutral. Then turn then turn the vehicle off, then hit the start button without foot on brake to put it into accessory mode, then disconnect negative battery terminal.
What if it doesn’t start
I have a 2022 z71, and the manual says I need to disconnect the battery to flat tow. I have to press 2hi 10x on my 2022, and as soon as it rolls, it re-engages the parking brake. How do I disable the parking brake from reactivating without disconnecting the battery?
Did you figure this out?
I do disconnect the batter, once you do that everything is pretty much dead and the parking brake will not engage.
this only works if the battery is not dead. what to do then?
Maravilloso
Que belleza amigo
how do you disengauge the system
wowowowow😘😘😘❤❤
Hey do you know how to do this wiyh 2019 model?😊
I am not entirely sure, I found the instructions in the owners manual.....BUT also found that the instructions are not written well enough to make a lot of sense so I did a lot of trial and error to get to this video.
Great video, as i have to replace mine. The fan relay is stuck on.
It was easier than I though, just make sure to know where each wire goes when taking off and putting back on. I marked mine 1-7 with a paint pen.
Do you have to disconnect the battery?
Great video. I have the 2021, Z71.
Video was awesome. Thank you.
When towing it most likely it's not starting then what
I am unsure of the question. When I do this it goes into Neutral, you must leave it in Neutral and ensure that it does not automatically put itself into PARK or does not automatically apply the parking brake. I have had this happen and you must start the car, put it into Neutral and then shut it down. There are more steps to get it ready to tow, however this video only covers putting the transfer case into Neutral.
I have the problem that I have about 300mA quiescent current and I do not know where it draws the current. Could it be due to a faulty alternator? It is a 996 from 1999
good work - thanks for sharing this sir!
I'm about half-way through. I got the old alternator out this morning. It was about what everyone says; very difficult to get the bushing in the back free, and very little room to get it out. I spent 10-15 minutes banging on the long bolt, then removed the pulley and banged on it another half hour, taking breaks to change the radio, etc. I also tapped down on the left side of the alternator, then up, then more banging on the long bolt, then some swearing. I noticed, finally, that it had moved a tiny bit on the left side, and it gradually came free. The videos tell you to rotate the alternator clockwise, and that's correct, but it's just a tiny bit of movement - maybe a half inch, or an inch. On mine it was also very difficult to detach the electrical connector and ground wire - the wires were too short to let me pull it far enough out to disconnect them. Anyway, I'd say it took me about an hour and a half, starting from when I first loosened the two bolts to when I finally had it all the way out. I actually mis-diagnosed my issue, so I don't think the alternator is bad, though it does make a slight grinding sound - it was my water pump that failed. I already ordered the new alternator so I'm putting it in anyway while I have the belt off, and will change the water pump too. I have to wait for the new parts to arrive, now.
Спасибо. Ваше видео мне очень помогло
Fun times
Like your video, and I just finished replacing my alternator on my 03 996. That bushing is on pretty tight as you found out. So I took my time and sprayed allot of penetrating oil repeatedly. I taped a few times and it moved back and the alternator was lose. So turn the alternator clockwise and remove it after disconnecting the wires. Like you I didn’t disconnect my battery so I wrapped the end of the large wire wire the 13mm nut with some electrical tape. Put in my new alternator and I was good to go. Also no need to remove that bracket or anything else. Just be careful not to bump other airline plastic connections that are brittle from engine heat. One more thing once the alternator is removed, be careful not to accidentally unplug the black vacuum line that goes to the back of the motor. I did and had to connect it back with my left hand only. No room to get both hands back there. I should have got my neighbors 5 year old to come and connect it back for me. lol
Yes....those airlines are brittle. I broke one of mine which causes a check engine light. But it connects on the back bottome side of the engine and is a nightmare to try to trace and/or replace.....
How long dose it take to do this job
If every goes well I say 30-60 minutes. Just make sure to add allot penetrating oil to the bushing. Than it won’t take long.
Great video. Thank you. I have to do the same thing shortly as I need to replace my oil filler neck.
i guess I'm kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch new movies online?
@Walter Salvatore I use flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Walter Salvatore I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
Very useful thank you!
Very informative video. I had exact problem that Alternator was not charging, followed steps in the video and got it replaced. I sprayed bushing with B'laster for 48 hours before using a 3lb hammer to tap on it. It took only a few solid taps to loose it. The whole thing was very easy. Thank you! For the other viewers, I would add a comment about pushing the tension wheel to release the belt - just put the ratchet level and push it downward as you would tightening the bolt. You should be easily do it with one hand.
How long did it take you to perform this job?
Thanks for the visuals on the top metal bushings. Very informative on that
