High Water and Bluecats

We went to Kaw Lake really early and beat most of the crowd. We have had pretty good rainfall this summer, so the lake was up about 3 and a half foot. For that reason, we decided to spend some time up in the Arkansas River that feeds into Kaw Lake. There was a little current coming through and we were able to find a few good fish. This video is from the middle of June in Kaw Lake. We started out on a big ledge out in the main lake. The boat was sitting in 6 or 7 feet of water, but we were able to cast into a variety of water depths. We caught several eaters there. After an early morning storm system moved through, we made our way to Kaw Lake for a late morning/early afternoon fishing trip. We took advantage of the long Memorial Day weekend and hit a couple new lakes. The first day was Wister Lake, the second day was Sardis Lake and we wrapped up the weekend at Lake Eufaula. We really enjoyed this trip and would definitely consider going back to all of these lakes to give it another go.
