This video provides insights into photography in the Sehlabathebe National Park. Sehlabathebe is located in the south-eastern corner of Lesotho and straddles both the Drakensberg and Maluti Mountains. The area is famous for its high altitude, tarns (small pools of water) and a set of mountain peaks collectively known as the Devil's Knuckles. For further details on the area, please see my websit...

The small plant (Aponogeton) in those ponds is found in very few places outside this area: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aponogeton_ranunculiflorus Decades ago i hiked in this beautiful area and took photos of those very special water lilies - beautiful and very rare.

Hi, nice video. I just returned from Lesotho a couple of days ago. I rode almost exactly the same route, just in the opposite direction. Sani Pass has been widened and fortified with gabion baskets. Matabeng Pass is still awesome and Sethlabathebe is stille beautiful although the lodge is gone and the ranger house a little run down. A new and much larger lodge has been built near the entrance.

Ye, Sani Pass as we know it has little time left. Did you ride up Ongeluksnek Pass? There is nothing in my video of our descent, but it was epic.

No, not this time. I entered Lesotho at Tele Bridge and rode along the border to Sethlabathebe, up to Tsaba-Tseka, and out of Lesotho via Sani, up Lotheni road and over Lesotho via Golden Gate. I have video's on my channel if you want to compare conditions. My vids aren't as green as yours, sadly.

Hey great video !! I'm very keen on doing the exact route, two questions did you guys go down ongeluks nek? And when deciding where to camp where they at camping spots or just random ? Cheers !

Hey Raymond Yes we descended Ongeluk's Nek. It was actually the most difficult bit of the whole journey and I fell off several times. It was very rutted and I struggled to keep the GS out of them. Sani Pass, and Sehlabathebe we stayed in accommodation but un-booked. We simply just arrived. Lake Letsie we wild camped. It was a little unnerving but we survived without incident and I would argue that it's the best camp in Africa. I highly recommend that you plan a trip and go. Just keep in mind that that's four years ago now so things may have changed.
