Dagens Diesen: Norwegian version of Russian RT in English. A quick report from Diesen's latest chronicle, imbued with the fact that Russia is the victim - this time by claiming that it is the Nordic countries that are militarizing the region. (1) 1. The title speaks for itself: "The Militarization of Scandinavia & the Great Northern War 2.0" Comment: Diesen therefore believes that the Nordic countries are inviting a new war over the Baltic Sea. Russia - poor thing, is the victim. 2. "Ever since Kievan Rus disintegrated in the 13th century and the Russians lost their presence on the Dnieper River,..." Comment: This is a line break of history, like an echo from Putin. Kyiv-Rus (Kyiv Kingdom) was not Russian. Russia did not exist in the 13th century, the Muscovite Empire was about to be invented, but there were no Russians at that time - that is something we say afterwards, as a consequence of further history. So how could Russians have lost their presence in the Dnieper - where, by the way, are the first 260 kilometers of the river's course located in what eventually became today's Russia? 3. "... a key security challenge for Russia has been its lack of reliable access to the world seas." Comment: A sort of involuntary admission from Diesen. First a bit of history: What eventually became the Moscow Empire started as a small knot in the latter half of the 14th century. They then steadily expanded on the battlefield, into what later became the Russian Empire. However, with some setbacks: Diesen visits Freden in Stolbovo - naturally, only Sweden is portrayed as the aggressor. As Diesen tells, it was not until 1721 that the Russian Empire gained permanent access to the Baltic Sea. Access to the Black Sea only came at the end of the same century, not least when they took Crimea in 1783. With the Soviet Union in the 20th century, many Russians perceive it as Russia reaching its (temporary) climax in terms of geographical extent. Putin has called it a tragedy when the Soviet Union finally crumbled in 1991 Here, Diesen essentially says that it is now a matter for Russia to expand again, by annexing Crimea and waging a war in Ukraine in order to secure better access to the Black Sea - "... access to the world seas." 4. "Similarly, hegemonic powers have always been required to dominate the seas, while Russia can be contained, weakened and defeated by restricting its access." Comment: Russia - poor thing, has been opposed all along by the great powers USA and Great Britain, and other powers. Diesen elaborates on this in the text. 5. "The US sabotage of the Minsk agreement (2015-2022) and the Istanbul peace agreement (2022) was similarly motivated by the goal of arming Ukraine to take back Crimea and make Sevastopol a NATO naval base." Comment: Diesen finds no evidence that the US sabotaged the Minsk agreements or the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in 2022. What is certain, however, is that Russia forced the Minsk agreements through the use of brute force on the battlefield in 2014/15, and then breaking the agreements before the ink was dry - partly because Russia did not withdraw Russia's armed forces and its weapons from Ukraine, but continued the hostilities. 6. "NATO's Deputy Secretary-General acknowledged in July 2022 that the war in Ukraine is mostly about control over the Black Sea." Comment: What NATO's Mircea Geoană meant was that Russia's warfare is, among other things, about gaining control over the Black Sea, at the expense of neighboring countries in the region - not least for Ukraine. Diesen tries to make it sound the opposite - that NATO is trying to take control of the Black Sea. 7. "America's attack on Nord Stream demonstrated how control over the Baltic Sea is important to cut Russian-German economic connectivity." Comment: Diesen continues to insist that the USA carried out the sabotage on Nord Stream, despite the fact that there is no evidence of this and all presumption against him. As Frank Rossavik wrote in Aftenposten a few days ago: "Eventually, however, the tracks pointed clearly towards Ukraine. Interestingly, this was a theory Russia in 2023 rejected. Now the Russians say it must have happened with American approval." (2) Diesen follows up with almost the same recipe as Russia, only that Diesen is, as usual, even more orthodox than the tsar in the Kremlin. 8. "There was no threat to Finland, yet expansion was framed as being a blow to Putin as an objective on its own. [...] The pretext will most likely be the concern that Russia will want to seize part of Lapland in the north of Finland. It will make no sense whatsoever, but obedient media will drum up the required fear.” Comment: Diesen insists that Finland has no reason to feel threatened - that it is some kind of silly Finnish fiction, hyped up by "obedient media". On the contrary, he believes that Russia has every reason to feel threatened by NATO. But it is not NATO which has gone to war against Russia, but Russia which has gone to war against Ukraine - and which is no more dangerous to NATO than the fact that they have almost no forces left against their NATO neighbours. 9. "The militarization of Norway has followed a gradual incrementalism." Comment: I did not know that we in Norway have been gradually militarizing Norway. Admittedly, we are going to arm up now, but it is not the case that we - even with a little more American presence - are about to pose a threat to Russia. If there is anything Diesen should have realised, it is that the Norwegian authorities have not wanted to equip themselves for the longest time. But of course Diesen won't say that. 10. "The frog is slowly boiling, believing it has identical interests to its masters in Washington." It is indeed very difficult to spot anything other than pro-Russian in his work. It doesn't get any better in the rest of the text - if you can bear to read it. Source: 1. glenndiesen.substack.com/p/the-militarisation-of-scandinavia

REFORM of the UNSC or the UNO, signifies a change from the PERCEIVED NORMAL state into a MALIGNANT state. Excision involves pain. The UN is DEFUNCT, OUTDATED and must be DISCARDED if a MULTIPOLAR INCLUSIVE WORLD is desired. For legal buffs - there is a PRECEDENT - the LEAGUE OF NATIONS - DISCARDED!

Just found this channel today (thru Prof Diessen - the next John Mearsheimer?). Great discussion, especially glad to know more about Armenia (could not understand why Russia did not support Armenia, a predominantly Christian country, against the aggression (?) of Azerbaijan. But it seems the PM simply handed over Nagorno K to the Azeris. He seems to be acting against his own country. Also, can you speak about the genocide of the Armenians at the beginning of the 20th century. Why and how did that happen. Subbed btw. Hope your channel grows.

Officially, the territory of Karabakh has always belonged to Azerbaijan. Armenia, represented by its president Nikol Pashinyan, recognized this fact, but dreamed that Russia would act as a mercenary on their part and retake this land to Armenia. At the same time, Armenia has not declared war on Azerbaijan and even the Armenian troops have not left their barracks, but Armenia considers its military allies not friends, but those who should conquer the lands of other countries for Armenia at its request, die instead of the Armenian army and in every possible way maintain and support the Armenian economy, while the Armenian president is openly anti-Russian politics. He has repeatedly insulted the President of Russia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and Russian citizens, and after that he asks Russia to go to war against Azerbaijan and take part of the Azerbaijani land in favor of Armenia. Seriously? 🤨

Azerbaijan offered them a civilized approach, but they believed such lying activists as Ambaryan and got an independent outcome...

It doesn't matter who is in the Whitehouse. It doesn't what they say before the elections. R or D are 2 dides of the same coin, same crap different color. The important thing is who, what entity is in control. That is what decides foreign and domestic policies. This also applies to Congress.

With an Australian accent and meaning I say, this gentlemen, especially Aram, was "bloody excellent!" In the relevant sense, synonyms for "bloody" in that phrase include accomplished, admirable, distinguished, exceptional, exemplary, first-rate, outstanding, skillful, sterling, and superb.

Thank you Professor Diesen from Australia. America is also using us to protect their hegemony. Australia is paying ~$A368 Billion for the Yankees and Brits to make nuclear submarine that "may" be delivered in 30 years and which can NOT sit on the Australian coast. But that's not important since they'll be deployed to the South China Sea to provoke China into a war for the Yankees! No debate whatsoever around these submarine purchases. Is that democracy? That money is much needed to house our homeless, feed kids who can't afford a meal (yes, that's right, we have kids in that situation) address the housing crisis, build public transport, etc you get the picture.
