TEACHER GAVE ME A B- ON THIS 🙏 THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO MAKE A PIECE OF MEDIA WHERE I EXPLAIN 5 PSYCHOLOGY TERMS FROM OUR UNIT BY CONNECTING THEM TO A RELEVANT REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE ENJOY
Miyazaki should do a One Piece episode if anything, not jjk ffs
Though you’re right it would be funny
Bro it's like everyone here never watched an anime. And by that i mean a real anime original that isn't a fkin manga adaptation. If you watch anything that's made by Gainax or Trigger for example (from Gurren Lagann to Evangelion to Kill la Kill to Cyberpunk Edgerunners to Gunbuster) that problem doesn't even exist, i feel like you kinda missed the opportunity to talk about that whole aspect
Wait till u see indian movies 99% are same generic bull.....
Made in abyss music got me feeling again
Will you make more videos like this one?
Planning to 😁👍
You. I like you. Please keep making videos
I mean if all you do is watch shounen then no shit you're gonna fall in a rut. Same with people who say video games are boring but all they play are fps and sports games. Like branch out a bit you might find something fire. I never thought I would like rhythm games but here we are.
Kind of surprising you didn't mention studio shaft since most of their stuff is literally exactly what you're talking about
EXAAAACCCTLYYY!!!! SUMMED UP MY WORDS PERFECTLYYY
Investing in this channel since 2k
Case they are? I mean characters with same personality and troup, cookie cutter plot, no clear theme and shitty chracterdesign and plastic colorpalte.
I think a director is really good at hooking someone to the story, but it's hard for them to create a big universe we can fall in love with. While a writer can create a big universe we can fall in love with, but has a harder time to hook up his audience. That's why movie series/shows are so much better when the director has a big universe as source of inspiration. That's why Arcane (Runeterra universe), LOTR (J. R. R Tolkien) etc are such good movie series. Because writers made the really good universe, while the directors help us see the best of it in the timespan of a movie/show.
Anime is a medium that deserves more artists to be given the chance to really be creative.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: *"Allow me to introduce myself."*
I was watching solo leveling and while it was animated really well I couldn’t help but seem like I’ve seen this story before. I know the story is different enough but so many aspects of the story I’ve seen it before but done better . I just felt nothing watching the series and was disappointed despite being excited for the show
love the mia music!
When the next video ?
I have a bad work ethic so I have no idea :D
That would be funny
I really liked the shopping list cut!
Lol, I hope you got a good grade for this.
Got a B- unfortunately, flubbed some of the definitions 💔
This is a great video! I swear the TH-cam algorithm is the same as the advertisement algo, which sends cat litter ads after me for the rest of my life after I watch crunchy cat get another concussion! Freakin' excel macro missing these creators.
You're really well spoken, good video.
not all anime can be as good as one piece, most will be more like attack on titan or demon slayer and other less well made shows
what is the clip at 3:20 from?
If you mean the overhead shot of the thing flying through the clouds, that’s from One Piece Movie 6: Baron Omatsuri 👍
@@kendejiYT thanks!
@@kendejiYT there was something almost jules verne esque about it, reminding me of animes I used to love when I was a kid like nadia of the blue water and secret of the cerulean sand, as well as some miyazaki works like Laputa. Really love that vibe
Kevin Penkin my beloved (made in abyss ost spotted)
Watched your anime video, please keep this and that animation style and memeyness, its genuinely hilarious. Subscribed with notifications!
Happy to hear you enjoy it! Will do my best to keep it up 👍
The funny jokes, the tiny tower style lil 8bit guy animations, and the general information make this channel excellently watchable. Love the little animation jokes the character does it just cracks me up! Subscribed!
Damn, too bad Berserk will not be animated. It's way too complicated to draw. It's literally a bad lsd trip 😂
Megumi Ishitani directed one piece episode 1015, and a few of the other best looking one piece episodes.
nvm you said it in the video
Great video, but a big reason I clicked on this video is because I'm cynical enough to fully agree with the click bait title.
Hosoda's One Piece movie is one of my absolute favorites from One Piece and anime films in general. Honestly like it better than some of his original films.
While they only tend to be one season, everything Hiroyuki Imaishi or Shinchiro Watanabe touches is pure gold. I think the coolest think about Watanabe's best show, Space Dandy (fight me), is that every episode is built from the jump to be a showcase for a different animation director which lead to some of the most varied and interesting animation I've seen across a single show. Also always cool when a western cartoon gets in on the action like the Adventure Time episode "Food Chain" which was done entirely by Science SARU
Paranoia agent is the only anime that i felt that was different. I have been watching anime for years now, i've stopped in december just because no matter how much i looked, i couldn't find something that wasn't bland or samey
Yeah I feel like David Production's jojo is another great example of how you can go wild with an adaptation to heighten the source material. Famously part 4 used wacky colors for everything like making grass purple and whatnot because it helped sell that moria was a weird town and they weren't afraid to keep changing the colors when the moment felt right for it. So even outside of part 4 very regularly to heighten a particular moment they'll openly change the color scheme of a scene to better match the mood and feelings of the characters. They're not afraid to do wild shit and I think that the anime is only better for it. And I can't wait for them to finally animate part 7 like oh my god
This is a topic close to my heart and you make great points in a well written, concise, and wonderfully edited video. Only thing I’d change is that you forgot a final point and a large issue that prevents “auteur” directors from developing television episodes. That is: *The industry doesn’t nurture directors with the clear potential to be auteurs if they are no-names.* This is key. A lot of the big animation feature length filmmakers cut their teeth on smaller projects but ultimately more often than not made independent full length features and established themselves outside of a seasonal anime shackled by one of the major studios. For company’s like WIT or MAPPA or even Bones, they don’t cultivate and then nurture these up and coming talents because they have investors to answer to and deadlines to meet and little to no room for RISK. Case in point is the UNDENIABLY auteur driven CHAINSAW MAN adaptation. Love it or leave it, that series was storyboards, planned out, and executed to a tee despite an awful schedule. It looked, sounded, moved and *FELT* different and its unfortunate how quickly a loud minority was able to scare away a relatively young but clearly promising showrunner and director and MAPPA seems to have done nothing to keep him or stand by him. The man was ambitious, and given the time and budget, could likely make an incredible feature film with the Reze Arc, but alas he follows in the footsteps of many a creative but no name director in the industry. Without the proper environment, directors who actually possess a unique vision and have the boldness to go there when others don’t are often overworked, mishandled, and eventually left in the cold. Very rarely do we get director standouts like with Mob Psycho or Frieren. It’s a genuine shame.
really love this breakdown, thanks for the writeup!
I really like your style, reminds me of ice cream sandwich, but I’m not really sure what you wanted to say?
auteur is author in french lol
The chainsaw man Anime adaptation is exactly what this video tries to convey. And for that reason, it is hated a lot in japan. People say, the funny tone of the manga is completely gone and the show just feels too serious and weird. There was even a petetion to redo the entire show with a different director. And from what I've heard, sadly the director of CSM won't be working on any other season 😞
no hideaki anno mention. no mention of mamoru hosada directing the first few (very awesome and stylistic) digimon movies. Sad!
Attack on Titan is just the biggest piece of fresh air and it's still fresh air no matter how many times you breathe it
Tad late to the party but there's another youtuber that does what you talk about, I forget his name unfortunately but he mostly does it for dragon ball with the off DB video from time to time. I figured this was just a niche part of youtuber that im delving into now but nope! Youre just a brand new youtuber and I adore your style of video. Please continue to rant about nichè or even huge subjects and you will have at least +1 viewer watch time my friend.
It’s probably not just because there aren’t big name Directors it’s also probably because they are cutting corners it’s more cheaper to use old sky images & to save time idk tho maybe not
David Lynch and Kunihiko Ikuhara collab when?
This was fucking hilarious good shit
Dhar Mann should hire you /j
The writing for this video is on point, can’t wait to see your channel explode
Giving a shout out to Shinochiro Watanabe Love his work
at 3 mins in I was JUST about to comment about how you cherry picked the best breaking bad episodes to compare to the rando one piece episode "franky departs" while ignoring Megumi Ishitani LMAO. Totally agree, they should have her and more amazing and different directors take episodes cause they really make memorable episodes that stick with you
dude i just watched this video the other day and i find out your my cousins friend??? wtf
What😭 who might this be (unless you don’t wanna say here lol)
Masahiro Sakurai said in his video "Directors need to be unique" that is good that directors have strange and unique visions put in the art than just do whatever bland with generic media just for the sake of popularity and safety
