FYI Alamo Ranch Parkway currently ends westbound in a dead end but there is planned expansion of it up to the new 211 highway . The extension allows commuters to head further WEST towards a new GALM RD intersection , crossing TALLEY RD and ending with 211. Extension already can be viewed in GOOGLE MAPS SATELLITE with intent to connect Alamo Ranch & Alamo Ranch Parkway with all the new construction developments on far west side currently accessible only from Talley Rd

San Antonio is a nice place to visit. But if you decide to stay be warned. Due to a large influx of people leaving other states to come to live we have problems. One the housing market is getting really bad if you wish to buy a home. It's forcing new home owners to build outside of the city which means traffic and commuting time. So watch out when buying. The other is pay. San Antonio has always been on the low side when pay is concerned. So you can find a job just don't expect a large pay check.

We've got more than enough people flocking here from CA, WA & OR, fleeing the hell and taxes they helped get put in place there. So now they're bringing it here, and trying to make this the new CA. Last year my property taxes went up to $13,300, my new appraisal is up another $125,000. My property IS NOT worth anywhere near what they claim it is, this years taxes will be $15,000. I sent in the protest form but the county "never received it" so PAY US & wait until next year to protest it. I live in an area that was annexed, I have zero city services but now I'm being taxed for installing water & sewer for new housing developments coming in! Roads are jammed, grocery stores have empty shelves, we don't have enough stores to supply the massive influx of people. So, very seriously, DON'T MOVE HERE.

In 2024 San Antonians still don't know what trash cans are for . Also they haven't showed them how to properly secure loads on their pick up truck or trailer. That's why we have stuff all over the freeways . The food scene isn't the best. Too many mexican restaurants, not that I like it but it gets tiring. I miss more food from the mediterranean, Italian, carribean countries. Stray dogs are also a problem in neighborhoods as well as overgrown grass in a lot of non hoa neighborhoods. Other than that it's cool to live here.

Go to Austin and check out the homeless situation there, it's absolutely San Fransisco east. Trash, needles, human feces everywhere and the city council put out the welcome sign. You own a business and the homeless set up tent city blocking your business? Tough, it's a homeless sanctuary city. Add in that they're turning everything into a toll road, and even at midnight the traffic is gridlocked. Yup, Texas has become SUCH a great place to live.

Like Austin, San Antonio would be a great place to live if it could be put on casters and just rolled out of Texas. Its location is the deal breaker. I lived in Texas as a kid from '66 to '71. Didn't like Texas then. I like it even less now. There are many kind, brilliant, wonderful Texans. But the state as a whole is shamefully cruel and ignorant. A lot of Americans don't realize that Texas earned the moniker, "The Lone Star State" because of its online reviews. 😄

Yes! And they just added a New Area at La Cantera called "The Rock" It is like they brought the Pearl to La Cantera! Such a great area to hang out in!

I love all your ideas! Kerrville and Comfort are so cute! I was actually Born in Kerrville! It has grown but it still keeps the small town feel! It is very similar to Boerne.

I-35 is a beast! It is one of the most heavily traveled freeways and to be honest, all those trucks do make it a bit stressful!

My dad lives in 6mo year Bandera (6mo England, where we’re from) and i loved visiting gruene and new braunfells as a teen and toobin down the guadelupe river

Tubing down the Comal River and the Guadalupe Rivers are some of my favorite activities! The Guadalupe is definitely s slower float and the Comal is faster but more congested these days! Both are great things to beat the heat during the summer!

It definitely has changed a lot! But with growth comes change, we are an ever changing city.
