looking back on good times in TF2
I don't think there will ever be a game with the same blend of mechanical depth, satisfying aesthetics, and absolute silliness that TF2 has. My friends and I don't play the game anymore, and every so often I get a little pang of nostalgia. I made this video to commemorate and share some of my favorite moments.

This is 13 moves in 2.8 seconds, roughly 55 DPS. HUGE thank-you to tas_apnja for writing a script that displays player coordinates to 6 significant figures in real time, which makes my workflow for platform-cancel-edge-cancel aerials way more efficient. This would have been a massive grind without it. Since that script allows you to bypass doing this in devmode, this is a great proof of concept...

melee is a very finished game with no glitches This one took about 15,000 rerecords. All of the invisible shines were ground out by yours truly, except for the first battlefield one (shoutout to Daladex for showing me it). Is it a fair fight? This is, to my knowledge, the longest single-shot melee TAS video. The concept I went with for this was essentially stunting with as much frame advantage as possible, which is why there’s so many 1-frame teeter/edge cancels (even lasers to recoup 3 extra frames each). Marginally, yes! Same speed difference as weapon vs. knife normally, just multiplied by the crouch movespeed penalty (0.34x)

Let me know what your favorite combos were! I personally love the Peach one. Also, wanted to point out an interaction that's probably too quick to notice: the Sheik walljump -> needle turn -> ledgedash at 1:05 manipulates her ECB such that the following ledgedash gives her 12 frames of invincibility. Sheik's ledgedash normally caps at 11 frames. I found that setup myself 🙂
