    Teaching is much better if you don't slow down everybody by your writing speed. Edit the video to fast forward when you are writing. See some of the excellently produced lecture videos from the U.S.A.

    Please sent to me as PDF formHydrogen at 15 ºC and a pressure of 1 atm. is flowing along a flat plate at a velocity of 3 m/s. If the plate is 0.3 m wide and at 71 ºC, calculate the following quantities at x = 0.3 m and at the distance corresponding to the transition point, i.e., Rex = 5 x 105 (take properties at 43ºC) (a) Hydrodynamic boundary layer thickness, in cm, (b) Local friction coefficient, (c) Average friction coefficient, (d) Drag force, in N, (e) Thickness of thermal boundary layer, in cm, (f) Local convective-heat-transfer coefficient, in W/m2-ºC, (g) Average convective-heat-transfer coefficient, in W/m2.ºC, and (h) Rate of heat transfer, in W. Consider a 15-cm x 20-cm printed circuit board (PCB) that has electronic components on one side. The board is placed in a room at 20°C. The heat loss from the back surface of the board is negligible. If the circuit board is dissipating 8 W of power in steady operation, determine the average temperature of the hot surface of the board, assuming the board is (a) vertical, (b) horizontal with hot surface facing up, and (c) horizontal with hot surface facing down. Take the emissivity of the surface of the board to be 0.8 and assume the surrounding surfaces to be at the same temperature as the air in the room. A shell-and-tube heat exchanger with 2-shell passes and 8-tube passes is used to heat ethyl alcohol (Cp = 2670 J/kg · °C) in the tubes from 25°C to 70°C at a rate of 2.1 kg/s. The heating is to be done by water (Cp = 4190 J/kg · °C) that enters the shell side at 95°C and leaves at 45°C. If the overall heat transfer coefficient is 950 W/m2 · °C, determine the heat transfer surface area of the heat exchanger.

    pls give mathematical derivation or concept links for past few lectures(bessel's function,orthogonality condition,etc) as most of them don't have same mathematical prerequisites required for solving heat transfer problems. i have heat transfer in this semester but math required for heat transfer is in upcoming semesters.

    This was one of the best Heat Transfer Course I've seen. Apart from having a brilliant mind, Prof Ganesh is an excellent communicator. He breaks down such complex concepts into understandable and digestible bits. His coverage on Convection and Radiation is absolutely brilliant, people make these topics so complex, yet Prof is able to break them down into simple intuitive chunks.

    • @VarunSrinivas
      @VarunSrinivas 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that is because we have to cancel the x^2/L^2 term in the bracket, to give a simple equation. it would have worked anywhere yes.

    Sir, if the base temp is equal to the temperature of the fin all over,,,,, the conduction q = - kA (DELTA T) is zero since delta T =0 , and the heat must be tranfer by conduction to convection is O or very less even it has little temp difference, so how can we get q(max), or did misconcept any thing here like the overal heat qiven convert directly to the CONVECTION.?? Please help me with sir.
