Overrated Men's Fashion: White Sneakers
มุมมอง 8644 หลายเดือนก่อน
Ladies and gentlemen, my hot take of the day is that white sneakers are overrated. I think that they are decent enough, they are okay, they are ehhhh. It's just that I think they're a bit boring, and I'd choose anything else over it. Boat shoes, loafers, service boots, cowboy boots, engineer boots, dress boots.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to The Dapper Diary. It saddens me to say that in summer, there are limited options for accessorizing. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the dapper diary. Some may say that it is difficult to dress well in the summer season due to the heat. I think that summer is a perfect time to wear some elevated clothes, if you can fin...

Why does no one make a video showcasing them in jeans/pants.
Thank you for the brutally honest review. Hard to take off, yikes.
Eager to hear about how the high arch affects heel slip and ergonomics
Thank you, I am learning from you.
Very dapper
Excellent review
Great video! Thanks
I’ve had their Biographer bag for a while and the shoulder strap issue you mentioned happens to me as well. I think I just got used to it since I can’t remember if it bugged me or not since last using it lol either way, I still love the bag and don’t regret buying it.
Dude get a boot jack, it makes taking engineer/cowboy boots off EZPZ
Excellent review, glad to have found your channel. Subscribed !
Too bad it only comes in that redish brown color, which is a no for cooler undertone complexions.
For those who think they’re too expensive, there’s a HUGE used market for all the Perfecto styles - enjoy! 😊👍
I have a pair of Challenger's in the CF Stead Stone Rambler leather. It's a great looking boot. The leather is top notch. My only problem id the heel stack is to tall for this boot. I lean forward when wearing them. I hope this will get better once I brake them in. If not, I will swap out heels stacks. My boot's have no flaw with the build quality. These are my 3rd pair of Thursdays. Might get the Brawler's next.
I just got the brawlers in the tea core and they’ve broken in a tenth the time my redwings took, I’d highly recommend them, they feel like absolute tanks/bulletproof
@@jeff9771 My Red Wings where the worst boot ever. I don't know how I ever past it. They are one my weekend boots.
I'm considering the same thing after doing more research about them. I currently have them in the teacore leather, and i love the boots but they definitely skimped on this boot more than they let on.
Nice review, man. After break in you will be able to pull on a little easier. Your pull on boot should grip your foot comfortably. When removing your engineer boots you need a boot jack....they should not come off easily. So, break'em in, and get a boot jack. You won't hate them, then.
perhaps the most rugged fashion boot ever...something about the design (appearance) is off.
Well, I have a stockier/fat built body. I have a feeling that a size 40 will be tight around my chest, hurting my arms movement. Oh well, some things are not meant for everyone.
These are great looking boots! I need to look into this...
Reminds me of nick’s urban logger
While the toecap is three layers of leather - vamp liner, leather toe puff, and the external toe cap layer. Its an aesthetic toe cap - the layer the toe cap is sewn to ends after the third row of stitches. You can see this on Thursday's website product page showing the cut-in-half view of the boot components.
Bummed they don’t come in wide widths (10.5 ee)
Jim Green. Better quality and cheaper.
Thank u for showing these. Can you review a TLB Mallorca fine dress shoes. Thank you in advance
Nice review. Well done with getting your facts in. I agree the regular thursday captain boots are great. Put the poron insole after time has no zero shock absorption. Il get the heels renewed as they are good. But its not really worth geting a resole as this will be prob 150 dollars or euros and the boots are 200 dollars or 260 euros.
What size blazer do you wear? 38S?
Great boots, however, they look a little orange which I find difficult to style
The gusset has a hole at the bottom of the tongue since you didn't notice it. It won't keep water out.
Great review!
Received mine in black teacore this week. I also have the indigo Vanguards. These are beautiful but much heavier. Might be more boot than I need, but that's kind of the point. Came with the rawhide laces installed and a different pair that are too short.
how are they holding up? i just ordered the same pair. Slightly worried about how tall the heel is
@HavenUpsurge I think they will easily outlast me. The heel has not been an issue on short hikes. Still breaking them in.
@@HavenUpsurgethe heel is the best part, now i can lie and say im 6’ not 5’10😂😂😂
Try thinner socks
It's an American company that sent the jobs over to Mexico. Nobody makes a PNW boot like people in the PNW. Save a little longer and get the real deal.
The Drew’s are a good boot. Not to mention there’s very skilled boot makers is leon
I can see where you are coming from, and if made in the USA and location of manufacturing is a high priority then you're right. However, this channel is more about quality and style, and, I believe quality can come from anywhere in the world. Of course, PNW boots are very special in their over the top build, but I firmly believe these boots are perfectly high quality for the average joe.
It now takes months/years to get a PNW boot made due to the backlog. If anything, there aren’t enough people to fill the jobs.
@ I kinda think wesco is getting slightly better, Nicks is pretty close though too. Whites takes about 6 months from what I hear. Franks has a dedicated following and is doing fairly well for a smaller shop
Leon Mexico is a boot making mecca with generational workers. "American craftsmanship" and it's good enough mentality hasn't been quality since the 60s. Anyone who has experience with multiple PNW companies or even views other's experiences know this. Take JK for example, NOT WORTH IT
The lord blessed you with beautiful hair. I hope you never go bald. Please start taking finasteride at the first sign of hair loss.
Hahaha thank you

Great video!
Great review!
I have just received this same boots in the same leather. These are awesome. I have Nicks urban logger but those are pretty heavy boots. I don't often wear them. But these looks badass but sleeker at the same time.
I know right? Some people are diehard PNW fanboys, and while they are good, it confuses me why they won't give any other boots a chance. These may not be as good or have the same over the top construction. However, I think they work just fine for the average joe.
reminds me of trickers
I'm curious to see how some of these leathers will perform over time, but most of the people buying these boots I suspect will neigh use them for any much heavy work or true outdoors purposes t' give me the feedback I really want. There are some other odd points of the construction compared t' the boots they are "challenging", etc.
the long laces are a nuisance. they will likely also shred the gusset bit prematurely.
the pricing is OK for what they are, I guess, but the target market is mostly for a fad?
@@Highland_Paddy Yeah I can see that happening, I'd just buy some kilties.
Also I just don't think these boots are made for work and outdoor purposes. While they have heavy lug soles that help with traction the toe box is on the sleeker side. It's certainly more of a form over function boot. Would it be my first choice for hiking? No. Though if I do have to walk a short trail with rough terrain, I wouldn't complain too much if I were wearing these.
These Thursday’s are beautiful.
Nice review!
good looking boot. what can you say about the width of the toe box? is it significantly wider than the regular width captain? they dont have these in wide witdths.
I don't personally own the captains but I'd say it is probably the same if not a little wider. My toes don't feel cramped at all in the toe box, certainly not like a dress boot, but obviously not as roomy as a moc-toe or wide work boot. I wouldn't say " significantly" as it is still tapered. Thats about as good of an explanation as I can give since I don't own the Captains.
@ ok thanks . I hope they will expand their sizing options
@@Gilad-000 I had to go up half a size to get about the same fit as the new Captain King Last, but then I also had to put in a neoprene insert to cut down some of the sloppiness and discomfort. The sizing can't be exactly the same because of the high heel and arch support style, which usually PNW boots tell you to SIZE DOWN, so I don't exactly know what is happening here that they run different from the Cpt, but I had to size up with the Hero model, too.
@@Highland_Paddy Going up a size can solve the width problem for sure but the last time I did that with Thursday boots they looked like clown shoes and getting an insert is just loosing the whole point of the leather insole.
@@Gilad-000 well, I could replace it later with leather insoles, but might as well wear out the poron heel pad first. also, neigh sure what's gonna happen w' then toe slits; might hafta rebuild that sooner than later, but at least then could switch t' honey sole. The toe cap isn't too clowny here, but wish it was optional. not sure how much more the toes will spring, either. I view them as an experiment, but overall I find them more wearable than some others so far but not counting on the same longevity, etc.
I hate storm flaps. For me they are always a deal breaker. Edit: sorry but it's way too big
I can definitely see where you're coming from. They certainly can get very annoying.
Good video brother, very informative
Sorry it is a little out of focus :(
They forgot to burnish the leather ( seal the flesh part) so i did it myself with burnish gum paste. Overall i love this bag bro 😎 nice review
Awesome video!! Keep up the great work!
Cool review, you may like the waxed canvas bags from Bexar Goods out of TX also
Awesome boots. 👍🏻
nice outfits...are they affordable?
The Nick's boots are about $700 and the Schott jackets are about $1000, so doable if neigh going OVERBOARD trying to buy multiple? O' course, decent G-1 start at around $500, so neigh sure where he got his, but if ye wear Large they won't be too scarce on ebay, but Small and Medium is can find plenty for decent prices but then hafta scrutinize more the leather quality and overall condition, etc. Oh, the boots may also have a 4 month lead time, depending upon the model and all that. Most people who buy motorcycle jackets don't ride motorcycles? I don't know about the cowboy boots w' the car coat thing here. I guess they can go w' the navy jacket since both leather???
Cool video!
Maybe you should have brought a size 6.5 like Nick’s recommended
Nice looks! Simple yet cool. I dress similarly but with trousers usually instead of jeans. Just my preference. I need to get a leather jacket one day too!
Chinos and other type of trousers are certainly a great choice! I honestly would wear them to diversify my outfits, but I just love my jeans too much and just want them to get some nice fades haha.
