Improve Your Strength Span with Health Performance Expert Mark Kovacs PhD
"There's a term that we use quite a bit called Strength Span. Everyone's using the term health span, but there's this concept of strength span, which is, how long can you maintain your strength into your later life? Which will help with a lot of this as well. That was one area. That person lost over 30 pounds in about six months by implementing these minor adjustments in nutrition, minor adjustments in sleep, minor adjustments in exercise. But when you stack them together, it only didn't just affect the physical, but it also affects the emotional and the mental." -Dr. Mark Kovacs

Forget making space for emotion. I got so mad when a colleague with a lot less responsibility was promoted around me for a big payrise that it made me ill. I got a new job with a lot more money, more senior title and actually less pressure and responsibility than my previous job. I took great pleasure in throwing my notice in and my old boss suddenly changed his tune and began realising my worth. I bumped into him about five years later and he admitted I was right to leave.

Diet can be a placebo. As someone who has recovered from POTs, CFS, IBS, chronic pain through healing my brain and spent so much time listening to recovery stories and my own experiences these symptoms are from the brain and how safe the brain feels. I first went on all the diets, Paleo, vegatarian, no sugar, gluten, dairy, etc,) and it did absolutely nothing to help my symtoms. I landed on a fairly low carb, very little sugar not perfect diet that worked for me and that I enjoyed, Nothing worked for me (including movement and other things I tried) until I did tons of work cognitive work (mindfulness, meditation, learning to be present, let go of thoughts, not believe thoughts, etc. ) work getting back into my body and learning to feel all the emotions (I was very emotionally repressed) and sensations (Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing), cultivating self compassion, worked through childhood trauma issues, and I slowly got better. For me, reducing and getting rid of the symptoms has nothing to do with diet (or supplements), but if I was eating in a way that didn't serve me and was really unhealthy that would mean I wasn't listening to my body, not caring about my wellbeing in some way and that in and of itself would be a problem, the food itself would not be the problem there.

I have intense over a ten level pain and no matter what I or doctor specialist can do does not stop the pain. I haven't really been under a 6 level pain and then it shoots back up. I'm seeing spine specialist and urologist and have done blocks and I still do not know what this is. Something is moving and sliding from my lower back into my groin area. They say nothing really slides in you it's referred pain. Though it pinches, slides, grabs, squeezes, feels like jabbing with something like a pen and feels like it's going around in circles and pulsates. Nothing showed up on the CAT scan or xray. The MRI shows bulging possible ruptured discs. When I sit it's worse and I can't stand that long either. My feet were cramping and I started using magnesium spray on legs and that helps for my legs a little. Can this help me? I also have a calcification in my carotid artery in my neck that the dental surgeon found on x-ray before doing extractions and dentures to come in plan. All this stops me from doing things I used to do with out difficulty. Any help you can give me would help. Also it feels like my below area from front to back is being pulled and stretched. What is this and can it be stopped? This all started when I went off my anxiety medication because they said you can't have both scripts it's dangerous when it took millions to diagnose and then I was better to a 3 level or 4. Now it's terrible. It may have nothing to do with the pain going off the anxiety medication for PTSD.

If your anxiety medication was a benzodiazepine this may be protracted withdrawal; it can happen if you are taken off this medication too quickly or cold turkey. It can cause the symptoms you are describing. You can find help in benzo support groups on Facebook and also alot of information on TH-cam such as the benzo coalition group.
