I believe he truly regretted his crimes. He's very honest man. I don't think they are all inherently bad. You have this guy so honest. Had issues from the beginning. Honestly, after watching hours of interviews of serial killers, aka John Gacy, Jeffrey Dahlemer, Ted Bundy, Arthur Shawcross, and so many more....Ed has to be the least egotistical serial killer of them all. He's honestly such an abnormality when it comes to serial killers. Still a monster and still a killer...but I truly don't believe he did it for the excitement. Out of everyone who has used the excuse they were mentally ill, this guy literally lived in 2 different realities, and I truly believe that he did. He doesn't gloat as if he talks about the killings to relieve them and get excitement from them all over again. He just tells them like a regular old story. Comes across very cold but it also comes across very honest compared to almost all the others I've seen. He isn't constantly trying to read the interviewer and manipulate them. He is literally just telling facts and how things truly happened. I honestly believe he is the definition of being molded into evil by circumstance. Compared to the rest of the notorious serial killers who are true evil from birth I feel. Of course, this is just my observation and is clearly up for debate as I have no degrees in psychology. But it's just crazy the night and day difference Ed is from all the others.

He is so intelligent but he is not emotionally intelligent. I find that interesting. I think he killed the co-eds because his mother loved them. If his mother was a nurse and loved her patients he would've killed her patients. A lot of people get emotionally abused by their parents and they don't become serial killers and necrophiliacs.
