Maybe you don't realise that it is Jimmy Barnes who's singing the number one song. Also, you both were talking when the guy said that the members of silverchair were 14 years old when they came up with 'Tomorrow' (#20). quite phenomenal.

A lot of Australians don't say the name of their country properly. Like this guy they say it with 4 syllables, not three. Correctly, it should be u-STRAYL-ya, not o-STRAY-lee-u. One of these songs, Sounds of Silence (#6) may have helped cause this situation when it used the 4 syllable option.

Quite a few I have never heard, but at 68 & having grown up in the music industry, working as crew, mostly loading on major shows or lighting for either "up & coming" (not yet popular) or "still going" (once were popular) acts at the time, such as Dallymore, Cold Chisel, Dragon, Stevie Wright, TMG, Ayres Rock, Jeff St. John, Candy Harlots, Jimmy & The Boys, The Hitmen, Feather, Choir Boys, Heaven plus a plethora of bands which were great, but never made it to stardom, such as QVs, Lightning Rock, Stockade, Torrid Zone, Dennis Wilson Band, Chris Turner Band, Loaded Dice, Dirty Alice, Joker, Airstrike, Your Fanatics, Moonlight, Outline & many others. Pity there are now so few venues for bands these days, especially ones with big stages & high ceilings, so bands can do a mini concert style performance, with large PA & at least 100 lights & effects, as it was in the 80s & 90s, before Endemol started with "Idol", then Voice, X-Factor & Got Talent, & the Record Companies stopped signing & promoting bands, opting to only sign & promote the top Endemol acts of each year.
