Long back I have created this Audi R8 in Catia GSD. And some videos I could able to capture. But I will try start making the videos of total car soon.
Very good class. Do you have any tutorials using the Catia Wireframe module to design a car curves? Or even the GSD module, instead of Alias. I used the Imagine and Shape to create the subd surface but it doesn’t look like a A Class should
Thanks. So far I will start the Audi R8 modeling using only catia GSD. Alias SubD is far better then catia imagine and shape. You can get any aesthetic shape with minimum time and effort..

we cannot directly thicken a complex Class A surface. Imagine a curve with a radius of less than 1mm that needs to be thickened by 2.5mm. So, how can this be achieved? There are various techniques available. By utilizing the offset command, some patches may not offset correctly. However, CATIA will provide you with the option to keep the partial offset. Take advantage of this feature and proceed to create the remaining patches. This method will help you effectively handle such situations.

Thank you for the motivation and kind words. I am currently preparing for the upcoming classes. That's a great question! Yes, we can accomplish that using the planner section command. However, I believe that in sketching, we have greater control over splines which allows us to create more precise sections.

Using the "Thicken surface" doesn't work for more complex geometries and manual offsetting is required - is this how it's actually done in practice (going from A to B class surface) or does there exist a better way? @@BigZee1986 Thats a great question. Alias subd itself is a class A surface with g3 continuity.. In addition, Alias Subd Retopo command is an excellent reverse engineering tool that lets us create stunning Class A surfaces quickly and easily from any scan data and low poly model. I have used this technique to make this model in few hours. If you're unsure whether alias subd is Class A or not, it's best to reach out to Autodesk for clarification. They have a wealth of resources and can provide you with the information you need. As for my experience, I have designed numerous casting and plastic products that have been successfully manufactured without encountering any issues.
@@The-class-A-surface_guy its not question :) If you can do it in sabdi as cleanly as with regular surfaces, then yes, it’s better to do sabdi. Subdi is very difficult to create a smooth, clean surface with complete control without damaging the entire part (more points more deformations). When the model is built in patches, the overall shape does not suffer as much as it suffers when the Sub-d is deformed. In addition, Porsche 918 spider, the bumper at the bottom made in sabd will never be the same as the one made with patches. Because the topology is different. For the same reason, Sabdi is not always good at automotive engineering. It can be used for simpler things. The fact that Alias shows it in his videos does not mean that now everything will be done in subdi. This is just another option (but not always effective).

Fyi you have to change the mode into the surfacing from the part making mode to making a surface

there are two methods . one is about sketch tress tool and another is make a bounding box by applying material to it . I generally use the second method . here it is th-cam.com/video/w2ntjPFmAVo/w-d-xo.html please check it .you must get a perfect result.. it works perfectly ..
I'm trying to get Sketch Tracer to work for me, but when I import my reference images ("Paintings"), they don't show up in the cylindrical view, or are horribly skewed and zoomed in. I have the material view selected, so it's not that. If I choose Conical, the images show up, but all the tutorials say to use cylindrical. I have view mode in shading with material. Please help me to solve this issue. For this I searched throughout the internet and read the articles but not found any solution.
