Yes it was fun. We caravaned in four RVs. This was taken the the Top of the World highway just west of Dawson City but before you got to Chicken, Alaska.

You are right, there were two models of the Vixen one with the BMW diesel engine and one with the Buick gas engine.

Yes, you may use it on your channel. It happened on September 8 on Hwy 95. We were traveling South in our 2023 Prius about 50 miles South of Nampa, ID. The driver of the Dodge pickup had worked the night shift and he fell asleep. He was not injured.

That would have been a good idea but we somehow no longer have their contact information. We do know they lived in Colorado and soon after getting it they took their grandson with them on a trip to Washington DC. My wife has often said, "I wonder where our Vixen is now and how it is doing."

I'm glad that you were able to view it. I too love seeing haw we all were years ago. I'm so glad to have saved those memories for times like these.

I sold it for $25,000. Maybe I didn't say the price verbally, but it is written there with the description below the video.

In the 10 years we had it, I never noticed it. Maybe because we didn't sit out there in lawn chairs while it was raining or snowing.

Hi Jason, we had a great time. The most fun was traveling together from one scenic place to another in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. There were six Vixens on the tour but many others joined in when we got to Las Vegas. The Vixen owners are a fun group of people. We sold our Vixen and now have a Winnebago View. We like the extra space but we miss the 30 mpg that the Vixen got.

@@hintro Awesome video. It looked like fun. Being that the video is 7 yrs. old now, have you taken any other road trips since then? Do you have any videos of the Winnebago View?

@@hintro I'd buy a Vixen if I had someone to share the experience and responsibilities with. My favourite is the SE model with the fixed elevated roofline. I've seen the video you posted showing your Vixen the one you sold. Very nice. 🙂

That Plasma cutter is amazing.

They do hold their value if they are kept up. If you are willing and able to do restoration you can pick up a project pretty cheap.

OK, now I understand why all the condensation I had. What I didn't like a bout the Webasto was that it used a lot of battery power to run the motor. By morning your batteries would be dead. It heated water of the cooling system which it than circulated etc. I think if it just heated the air it would have been OK, but circulating the coolant with a motor and than running a fan motor over the coolant filled coils was just too much for the batteries which also had to run refrigerator and everything else.

Buying from China is difficult to avoid but essential to try. We really do vote with our money...and China really does cut up healthy bodies to sell their organs..disposing of sometimes still breathing victims in the hospital furnaces. This isn't fantasy but fact supported by the Independent Tribunal into Forced Organ Harvesting. Chinese Big Business is owned by the political elite, family and friends. Just the tip of the iceberg of reasons to reduce reliance on Chinese products. Nice info on the Webasto.

Not more than 30 miles. It was flat and easy riding - and wow, what a view.

I just talked to Bill on the phone today August 5, 2022. He is doing very well at the age of 90. His son now has his 1987 Vixen.

Bill died earlier this year, I don' remember exactly when. The Vixen, however, lives on.

@@hintro I have recently joined those pages on FB. Several sold in the last couple of years. I'm sure one will pop up. I'm definitely leaning into the need category for next steps in life. A pop up, while an Apache, is awesome but not an RV. And this is no ordinary RV.

Glad it was a help. I think the new Lectric bikes probably don't have the same problem. Our two Lectric bikes got stolen, now that we have the new model, I will soon find out if the new ones have the same problem.

@@hintro I'm sorry to learn your bikes got stole. After you stretched your frame, did you have any noises on the frame of your bike where the frame welds to the arms you spread? I'm just asking so that I can determine whether or not to spread the frame of my bike. Thanks.

Glad it was helpful. To prevent future flats, I now use Tuffy tire liner. No more flats.
