I tried pixel up and it just takes forever you can just use it for free and watch ads if you have so much time. I once had a better one but my phone was stolen and I can't remember the name. I thought it was Lensa but Lensa doesn't have this feature. It had a similar logo

I wouldn’t waste your time guys, it’s subscription only and twice the price of Final Cut Pro on iPad. I’d wait for release of the Final Cut camera app

Im thinking about getting Affinity Photo but I’ve only ever used Photoshop. Is Affinity Photo’s tools and functions similar to Photoshop? Im concerned with how well I will be able to learn this software

I have (had) Photoshop CS5. After reimaging my hard drive, I tried to reinstall it. However, Adobe states I already on it installed on another machine, which I don't. When I contacted support and explained, they told I would need to upgrade if I wanted to continue using Photoshop. However, there is no more upgrade. It's all indentured servitude (monthly subscription). It's frustrating to have paid all that money for something I thought I could have forever only to have them cut it off so they continue pulling money out of my pocket, but now on a monthly basis. I've been using Affinity Photo the last couple of days, trying to learn it. I took so much for granted with all my shortcuts. I was just efficient at it. Affinity Photo can do a lot of the same things, but the efficiencies aren't there or I've yet to discover them. I've replicated my last two Photoshop projects from scratch just for comparison and learning purposes to compare. It seems to work as well so far. I can't find a way to do 3D objects with it yet.

So is there an option where you download the footage and sync it to your system and work on it or do you literally have to be online to use the project? Because that does seem like a bit of a glaring and obvious flaw. I get the intention is for big productions and teams to be working on this, but remote work isn't perfect and wifi/connections do drop. Should really have a cache design where you can go offline temporarily and then update the project later.

I edit 360 video almost exclusively and now with the new Insta360 X4 camera with 8k30. For a long time I would export stitched videos from the Insta360 Studio as H265 and bring it into Davinci for further work. No problem even for 5.7k60 clips. The new 8k clips would kill Davinci almost instantly! Tried changing all sorts of parameters to no avail - until you said the decode from H265 was a hog. So I stitched and exported the 8k30 from Insta360 Studio in H264, brought the clips into Davinci and BINGO I could do more work and export in H265. Many thanks for that super helpful tip.

I'd just take a pen tool and draw my own arrow. Takes 10secs. No overexaggerating. Great video man! Cheers!

It's worth it IF...you are totally using Resolve...as the main editing tool...if y r not committed to Resolve and like to jump.around programs then maybe no point in buying it...btw Resolve.should be the program.you use coz it has everything under one roof...

I prefer Final Cut Pro or Lightworks Pro as an alternative to DaVinci Resolve. I think DaVinci is a fantastic program but I struggled with the node based colour correcting feature. I can see why a lot of people gravitate towards DaVinci and it is fantastic value but I didn't enjoy the node based workflow.

Will global shutters be coming to the BMPCCs? The original Production Camera showed that they can do it. Would you know what would be the tech hurdles they need to overcome?

Why doesn't Blackmagic bring back the original codec? I love the color & detail of cinema dng.

Loving your builds and I’d love to go down the iPhone route, or Blackmagic with constant auto tracking for TH-cam.

Reminds me of linear editing days with a CMX or Sony RM-440 edit controller. The jog/shuttle knob is what I use the most on the speed editor.

Thanks for the video I just ordered one with a discount code, £329 including next day delivery and I believe it said Davinci 18 licence key!! I'm hoping the studio version handles 4k MP4 10bit files better than the free version, I keep getting out of sync audio the more cuts I make. The magnet and chain link are both selected and I'm only cutting out sections then using auto ripple to close the gaps!!

Affinity Photo 2 is on the same level as Photoshop from 2015. You think it's one-time-payment, but actually it's the same thing as PS. In order to keep up with tutorials and industry standards , you'll have to upgrade all the time. If you want free, with constant updates, use open source. Ridiculous review.

No idea why Blackmagic has not allowed us to map the buttons. It really is a no brainer and would made the speed editor and editing in Davinci that much better.... I love the wheel, even if the Speed Editor isnt faster, it is more fun.

Thank you so much for this very helpful content 😊🙏✨ I've been editing for Final Cut for about 10 years now and seeing the poor follow up on Apple updates lately, I'm now strongly considering switching 🙄 Doing the round trip with the Ipad is one of the plus, since my biggest resistance with Resolve is the lack of second playhead (Skimmer) when mouse overring the timeline... It's such a key feature in FCP and as a traveler, I am use to edit with touchpad only, and on FCP I am actually faster and more precise with the pad than I would be with the mouse 😅 However, the alternative of using the cut page on the ipad for my first draft could be a big plus 🤔 And maybe even coming back on iPad for color grading, seem to make sense (With side car dual screen ??). So, long story short, I am wondering: since you open the video showing that some effects and transitions aren't working, does this create a problem when round tripping from one to the other = In other terms: Will they reconnect naturally when going back to desktop or will they break the project ? Thank you 🙏

Many thanks for the helpful videos Edit Place. They definitely helped me get up-to-speed faster. Relative to crash issues, I’ve been stumped by an export crash with version 18.6.5. Seems most prevalent when editing 5.8K clips on a 2023 iPad Pro 😢.
