Someone said that the sound of the Beaver would possibly bring tears to the eyes of a Harley rider. True?
i disagree no way a 9 cylinder engine is going to sound like an antique V-Twin Tractor Engine.
I've taken (4) fly-in fishing trips into northern Ontario back in 1976, 1977, 1979 & 1980. I was a young man only 18 years old on my 1st trip. All 4 of those trips were made possible via a DeHavilland Beaver with the 9-cyl radial engine. And I've bought (8) new Harleys over the years with my most recent, a 1998 FLSTC with the 88 cu. in. Evo engine. I've owned both shovelheads & Evo's. And I can confirm that the DeHavilland Beaver, at idle & up to 350-400 RPM sounds very similar to the H-D engines with a nice set of pipes on it. Keep in mind, the Beaver has no exhaust muffler either. Watch+Listen to: th-cam.com/video/QXweYglFxSo/w-d-xo.html starting at 1: 47sec to 2: 29 and again from 4: 15 to 5: 10 and then tell me that doesn't sound very similar to an H-D engine. I've owned 8 H-D's with 6 of them built-up anywhere from 90HP to 110HP. I've had the pleasure of flying many, many hours in DeHavilland Beavers & probably close to 3/4 million miles total on all my H-D's I've owned over the years. The sound of a DeHavilland Beaver is a very beautiful sound. I can still feel the vibration of that 9 cyl radial while sitting on cases of beer & provisions that accompanied us into the back country. Now, go watch + listen to that YT video I listed above and enjoy.
Pretty lady
Its rare to see another human being? they are fishing right at the kenai bridge which has nonstop traffic crossing it.
I have fished with this outfit several times over the past 20 years, and haven't experienced a bad outing yet.
BOT Ulysses I am the real LAST. :P
how do I start it in Australia
stay out of our country you hicks this is our land not Texans coming up here hunting our animals hell no you people don't belong here stay in the lower 48 were you belong
Hey Jim, I hear the black bear hunting is outstanding up there.
I've watched the show a few times, and I've noticed a few problems with their tv show: Phred has yet to appear in a wet t-shirt or bikini contest, and they don't have a minigun,
That would be a mountain goat.
Thanks for sharing
just watched for the first time cool show but in the episode the great alaskan legend. do people in alaska really act like total f in pyschos ? jeez id be wondering about going hunting out their with funked up i the head individuals with that attitude around . i mean maybe its all show but the people the shop employees try and help are people that belong in an asylum.
Stikine River then up a clear water tributary to Shakes Glacier, great trip. I've traveled and filmed all the way up the Stikine to Telegraph creek, then up the Stikine River Canyon three times - highly recommended!

That's my brother singing the only kind of music a person needs to know or hear!! Yeh Jayme!! Love ya brother..... Bob.
I just watched an episode of the show and I can appreciate people moving to Alaska for privacy however when the troopers are trying to do their job to protect Alaskas uniqueness and control the wildlife populations, humans living there can be real jackasses. Another thing I cant stand is when some 'groups' claim that any of it is 'their own' land. Newsflash humans all over the world-NOBODY owns any land! Especially when you are abusing it.How dare you be so arrogant.
Thank you for sharing!
