a lot of tech people get kind of huge egos they dont realize there are 100,000 H1B engineers from china who could figure out how to do their job in a month for half the pay. The market has changed. Gone are the days when engineers are scarce.
template docs, please 🙏
I been struggling with landing a job for like 4 months now :(
Were you crying ?! 😅
what tech stack will you be using?
Saving that for a future episode!
Do ya thang!
Looking forward for your series!
You gave me technique how things going to work and how we can done it I always stuck in this area but now I know how can I tackle this Thanks for this Best wishes for your app
These are some solid pieces of advice. Thanks a lot man, Looking forward to the next content.
Hey bud !! Really excited for more about this project and learnings..🎉
what's the tech stack?😊
Watching from India. Really excited
Good-luck to the new life. Since you have the experience, I would love a playlist on how to be a great developer. I will appreciate that
Can't wait for the next video!
I appreciate you taking the time for this, I’m a recent CS grad trying out freelancing to build my own professional experience
looking forward to this series.
This video provided so much valuable information. I really appreciate it! , i from thialind i follow you since 2023 on Instagram ,I look forward to having you share tips on tackling LeetCode challenges and preparing for technical interviews in the future. Your insights would mean so much to me!🥰
Hi Wisepup I found your TH-cam channel through your Instagram. Thank you for starting this journey. It’s very helpful for us. I just want to say I’m with you. Keep it up!
Thanks for following!
Hi I am one of your Instagram follower and currently learning web development =) I saw you posted a video on TH-cam about teaching how to build a webapp, I was super excited and immediately clicking into the link! I want to continue follow in your footsteps to learn how to build my own webapp =) Good video explaining and showing what's the very first step we need before building a webapp =) Keep it up!
Thanks for supporting!
Bro your videos 🔥 keep going ❤
Appreciate it!! This means a lot to me 🫶
Great! I am in.
Hope you enjoy!
Nice video, I think you have solid foundation and motivation so you will go far! Can't wait for the next video.
Thanks!!! appreciate it
No worries, I will support you and follow your channel
I really like your videos, i came from your tiktok page, please make more vids like this!
Will try to do so!
I love the idea of taking a year off. I hope it works well for you. I'm a constant planner. I love to plan tbh. Even if I took a year off, I'd be doing side hustles and planning for new opportunities. I hope you're able to rest in a healthy way.
Are you worried that this may be a bad time in the market to be taking a year break? :o
Hi There! I'm glad I ran into your channel. I can totally relate. I took a 2-year gap from working and I'm now on my 4th year. I have decided to go back to work yet because I wanted to focus on TH-cam content creation. I'm a 52-yr-old Filipino American living in the Seattle area, a Senior SDE with around 27+ yrs of experience. You will figure things out and I'm interested to track your journey through this channel, so I subscribed. God Bless!
Love hearing this
I have the same keyboard as you!!🔥 Your story is very inspiring. I'm currently working while going through college and working toward my dream of being a software engineer. Funny enough, I'm currently working on a video for the TH-cam channel I made to post cool projects. You like living my dream. I'm happy that my algorithm pushed your video. You should be proud of your accomplishments and take a well deserved break.
You had it so good and you don’t realize it.. the market had changed over the last 2.5 years from the hiring of SWE being in high demand to senior developers with 10+ YOE competing with college grads for entry level jobs after all these layoffs..
That's very brave of you to quit a job in the current market but then again Amazon's 5 day RTO is pretty dumb. I believe several more will quit.
Thanks for the perspective. I considered Amazon for the longest time but now that they have 5 days return to office, it's a no-go for me.
Don't quit your job. The job market sucks
Too late
I took a break and dont wanna go back but im broke 😂🤣🤣😂😂
Im hoping i dont get to that point 😂
good luck bro
I'm surprised you were close with your coworkers and have fond memories of working at Amazon, my friends that are SWEs there have like no rapport with their coworkers lol
I think i had an uncommon experience and worked in a unique org, so i had rapport with coworkers
@WisePup good stuff man, best of luck with the future
Good luck!
Thanks!
Do you have a CS degree? It will be harder to finder a job if you don’t have one. But I totally understand why you quit that place.
Yup! I have a degree, so i had a bit lore confidence taking a break
That’s good.. Would you say coding bootcamps then are not sufficient if no degree? What if you got good projects on portfolio?
@corpuzone not in 2025, they were worth it back in the 2018-2021 years though.
End of an ERA and you've only been there for like less than 2.5 years, lol, gen z's are goofy.
Yeah he’s going to regret this lol. tech jobs are only getting more and more scarce

Such a great presentation and analogy :)
Thanks!! Appreciate it :)
Damn! I follow you on instagram and i'm like i've seen this dude before! Never expected you to be a FAANG guy, always felt like you were somewhere more chill.
Secrets out now, i was in faang
good luck for your new journey man!

Same my last day was on Friday! Goodluck in your career
thank you!!
Really insightful video, good luck with everything man <3
Appreciate it!!
Great video! I’ve also been considering that risk too and have enough to last me about a year but the current job market is scary right now 😭
My mentality is that i have enough confidence in myself that ill gain more experience during this break with side projects + job market will be better. Despite what happens in the job market, i know i have the skills employers want
Congrats! Best wishes on your next adventures.
I am also looking to do this as well. Been pretty much working all my life and been in tech for 10 years. If you don’t mind me asking do you have just enough for few month expenses or are you financially independent?
I have enough to last a while, like 1 year plus. I live with family still and have low expenses so I’m able to take this risk
@@WisePup Got it, thanks for the response !
