Vote No to both! This Republican legislature is already holding funds hostage and not wanting to use them for the intended use. Can you imagine if we have to wait for them to approve distribution of emergency funds the next time there is a tornado or flood??

There have always been diff branches that do certain things & it was great w Repugnacants when Scotty was in. Our legislature has demonstrated for years their petty authoritarianism w monies already voted on or federal funds to direct it to where they want rather than where it was intended for.

Will you "fight for democracy" in Illinois? Because in 2022 the GOP got 43.68% of the votes but only 17.65% of the seats. What about Massachusetts and Connecticut? where Republicans got more than 30% of the votes but didn't win a single seat.. 0% of the seats for a party that was voted for more than a half a million people.

Great video, I'm from Ireland, profits have been good for the last few years but finding labour and climate change constraints are a real challenge. Current reduction in prices will take their toll on farmers who invested heavily in the last few years also. I'm wondering if there a way where 5 one hundred cow farms could come together to form a 500 cow herd to reduce the financial risk, reduce the workload and simplify some of the climate change constraints?

This is not a family farm. Its a families farm. More then one family doing the work. I milked cows for 45 years.. 50 cows .. 160 acres.....no rented land....no outside income. Wife helped milk and do the hay making and took care of the kids. Largest tractor.... 85 horse. .and a Massey Ferguson 375 loader tractor. Rotationally grazed . Picked ear corn....fed very little corn. Had 15 acres of corn per year. Had alfalfa and grass pastures. No TMR... square bales till 1992......switched to a New Holland 630 ( 4x4 ) round baler. Switched to nearly all wet hay ( balage ) after the year of 2000. Built my own bale wrapper. As close to " organic " as possible. Without fertilizer though production would be only half. Missed not being in the barn 10 times due to surgery. Key......stay home......do the work !!!

It was always going to end like this for white legacy farmers. Without African slaves to own, rape and work to death for free The end was always easy to foretell. When the centre cannot hold, things fall apart. Who sheds tears and mourns for them? Certainly not our ancestors and descendants To whom no reparations has ever been paid They would rather fight a civil war than end slavery They would rather perpetuate Jim Crow laws than 40 acres and a mule promises

irrigation+rainfall = evaporation + transpiration + runoff + leaching Which one of these processes do Farmers really have control over during the growing season? If you have the ability to irrigate your sandy soils and water is cheap and plentiful, then you are fortunate and have some control on the left side of the equation. If you do not have irrigation, you must look at the factors on the right side of the equation to see what can be controlled or minimized to benefit your crop. Evaporation from the soil surface can be reduced with mulch or leaving crop residue on the soil surface. Transpiration is a function of the plant leaf surface area and the weather. Runoff is or should be minimal in sandy textured soils with high percolation rates. This leaves the leaching of water out of the root zone as the #1 controllable loss of moisture to your crop. Interrupting the downward movement of moisture in your soil by installing a "smart" barrier can greatly reduce the leaching of water and nutrients. SWRT subsurface membranes detain/retain up to 90% of irrigation or rainfall in the root zone for crop use by disrupting the gravitational movement of water in the soil while still allowing excess water to percolate and do not create anaerobic soil conditions.

Agriculture is a huge contributor to climate change. People need to stop eating so much meat. Farmers need to stop grazing the lands and loading their cattle with steroids and whatever else. Cattle are releasing huge amounts of methane into the air and nobody is talking about it. It's all blamed on burning fossil fuels. Ppl need to WAKE UP!
