Family Tradition Farms
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 28 เม.ย. 2021
Our family has one tradition that stands out above all the rest, and that's the love of agriculture. As our little family grows in SW Indiana, we want our children to be able to look back on where we got our start and why our farm is called Family Tradition Farms. We use only sustainable agriculture practices and are committed to leaving a better future for our children. Follow us as we raise crops, chickens, and children!

Water is a good thing in moderation. Here on my farm, we are very flat and often struggle with ponding. Surface drainage is a very important part of rasing a crop for us. Tag along as we spin some dirt!

It’s called Hydro excavation. It’s just water that they used to excavate dirt.
I would be on the phone with the dnr, your county commissioner, your state representative and a lawyer to get compensated for any crop loss. Looks like you have piss poor neighbors with poor stewardsmanship. Good luck to you.
But it’s good for the environment! B.S!
Call DNR. Soil and water district?
In our state it is illegal to flood your neighbors property
I guy here in Ga won a huge lawsuit against a solar company for erosion on his place
Great video!!! This is EXACTLY what is happening in a beautiful, old, history filled farming township in N.E. Lower Michigan. All 850+ acres of this pristine farmland drains into a beautiful river valley system that empties into Lake Huron less than 2 miles away!! Your video is the best I've seen by far! More than any positives surrounding this project, it has caused bitter feelings and severed relationships between family members, friends, and lifelong neighbors!
Solar belongs in parking lots, rooftops and deserts not farmland.
@@chargermopar fun fact: there's been >100 fires and mysterious explosions at food processing plants in the U.S. since Joe Biden was installed. 😉
I would build a berm around my property so none of than runoff can enter. A few days of earth moving would be worth it to me
This is so horrible! Shared on our pages in Michigan.
Your neighbors are cashing in . Probably a absentee land owner . The owners are probably making a grand per acre rent . Federal subsidies paying for it all. Now the energy company probably told you in meetings that they are one with the land and community. The energy company makes 25-45 thousand per acre . The county gets paid . So you get sold out . As for the water ? High water table trenching in lines ?
You are so full of sh!t on this. Go sell your BS to people in cities, but just because you are part of the narrative of red hats that anything like solar is a liberal agenda doesn't make anything you are saying right. They are pumping groundwater with a truck mounted industrial pumper, the same tech as a honey wagon. YOU know what a honey wagon is so thats why there is pressure. Duh. Your "crops" are cover crops that you probably got help through the ASCS-SCS (or whatever it's called now) to buy the seed and put in. Did you put in Rye Grass, turnips, or radish? Drilled or aerial seeded? The "Dixon Ditch"? The name gives it away. It is a man made drainage ditch, probably dug sometime around 1900 to drain off a natural Fenn or slough and you have a bunch of tile feeding into it. The county maintains it, so bitch to them, and if you are so afraid of runoff then look into remediation and plugging the ditch up so N,P,K. runoff from your farm quits running to the Gulf and contributing to the Dead Zone. As far as your "silt problem" goes I almost laughed out loud, you know that is nothing, but you have some kind of as to grind against this whole thing so you are throughing shit against a wall and seeing what sticks. There is nothing but ground water and mud being pumped out of the holes that the construction company is digging for footings for the solar panels and rainwater is filling them, so they pump it out so they can pour concrete for the panel footings. Would you bitch if this was hog shit from a CAFO running over your ground? Come to Iowa if you wanna see groundwater contamination, this is just a strawman argument. Change is scary, I know. People used to fear electricity in the home and didn't trust automobiles. Go to the construction company, tell them your concerns and ask for more silt fence, or is the digging done already? If you don't get satisfaction go to the DNR. Cheers.
yep.
It's funny when libs like you think they know everything. Destroying farm land for shitty solar will be looked at in the future as one of the worst things we have ever done. You just keep listening to CNN and msnbc and stay in your lane city boy
Don't worry, just a cpl more weeks. We'll drill baby drill and energy will be cheap again. That solar chit is goin tf away. If it wasn't MEANT to consume crop land and food, they'd have put em all on rooftops or non-cultivatable land. Remember, since potato stole the election in 2020(81M my ass, still missing those votes) >100 food processing plants have been burned down...and not rebuilt. Somebody owes you A LOTTA money bud! Silt in Wisconsin is spelled with a $.
sheep
Theyre drilling holes using water, its the soil and water mixed in that truck. I bet if you talked to them, theyre dumping the dirt and water where their permit allows them, as close to that waterway as possible. Id go talk to them, you might be surprised
Yeah that ain’t good, as a hydro operator then need a settling pond to dump into with proper drainage
If you did this to them they wiuld sew you so you got to get a GOOD LAWYER and file a suit
I'd wait for a bit past Jan20th....lotta chit will get straightened out n bad ideas abandoned.

This is what biden is encouraging to happen through Missouri and other surrounding states. This needs to be stopped. Mass solar and wind mill ranches all over. It's happening here in Arizona, some of the land owners have said no cause they can't use the land for they're cattle.
It's bs get you a ev this country needs to go back to coal no mold on everything and free sulfur this People are f crazy China is getting rich thanks JB
You need to run for county commissioner seat
And study the spending habits of those currently in place....they've taken bribe money!
There putting a bunch here in Michigan, i cant believe farmers are doing this
Yeh but...Michigan is just so blue. I think it actually went red in '24, but will take a while to cleanse thru.
Why not?
Latest and greatest scam
Prepare now to be a claimant in the bankruptcy of the investor's of that pie in the sky solar farm. As those panels deplete they leach nickel into the soil. As much drainage issues as you have now. Your cropland will be effected by this leaching. Then where's the location of the solar panels battery storage? Takes a hella lot of water to suppress a fire if one of those battery storage catches on fire. Us Oklahomas are learning as all these wind farms blades depletes microfibers of fiberglass is showing up in testing in bales of hay in high quantities.

Who??? These are foreign owned comoanies!!
So what your saying is your mad cause you didnt get in on the solar farm
He might be pissed that he didn't get into the Farm money, but the company has no right to be discharging sludge and water on other people property, They are definitely liable for his crop damages. I would also be sending all kinds of samples to DEQ and other government agencies. As for affecting his families drinking water, that's another issue in itself. If they damaged the aquifers for him and other families, they definitely need to be held accountable for generations to come. We have a proposed Wind Turbine farm proposed for my area, and my biggest concern is our water tables that are at 25 to 30 feet.
Who is going to pay to dismantle the solar farm when the life expectancy is over.
Or maybe because his drinking water is no longer drinkable
Ignorant comment, stop ignoring.

Call IDEM They can not run water off the property without being filtered. It is all part of their SWPPP plan. They are to check all SWPPP structures daily.
We go nuclear or go dark. Those are the two realistic options.
Or...drill.
@ yes, drilling is a short term option I’m not opposed to, but have no illusions we can keep using hydrocarbons for thousands of years… it won’t even last for hundreds…
@jeoinaforest naw, you've been liiiiiiied to, that's all. Stop with hydrocarbon shtuff. How many times have climate scientists been wrong...since say...oh, the 60's? Maybe a dozen X? This last week with ice caps? So, from acid rain and greenhouse effect to solar flares, asteroids, calenders, hydrocarbons, AL GORE, global warming (lol) and bla bla bla...it's all bullchit.

I feel so sorry for you. They tried to build one all the way around my house. I was only saved by the grace of God (or at least it has been delayed). I tried to get an attorney but I couldn't even find an attorney to take my case. They won't take a stand because they know they are going to lose or either they've been threatened.
I'm in Ohio and they wanted my farm for a 35 year lease which amounted to almost 35 million dollars but I turned it down I just couldn't see destroying a family farm
That's why all these land owners are selling out ! Their families will be sorry !
Sell and take the money, the state will take it and give you nothing.
👏 👏 👏 thank you.
@@jamesmcclanahan4091 smart move. you would have never seen the money anyway. all these solar companies will go out of business when trump does away with the subsidies
That tank is probably two thousand gallons or bigger
In Ohio you can call PUCO and make a complaint I'm not sure what you can call in Indiana
This is criminal. As other people have commented, please retain a lawyer as soon as possible. If you haven't already, also contact your county environmental protection office to report what they are doing. Also continue to document - as you have done with this video - along with photographs, of all of the damage and unlawful things they are doing. Also get your local and/or county newspapers involved. The more bad publicity the better. As someone who used to work in the legal profession in Ontario, the key is to document, document, document, document and have good, knowledgeable legal representation.

I feel so bad for ya'. I live in Starke County Indiana and they have ruined farm land and our roads!
They lie so thru their teeth to bring those damn things in, and wipe their hands of all responsibility after they go in. And they have no repercussions for their bad actions.
I would be building a 20 foot tall retaining wall to flood it back on their property.
your local soil commissioners should be of some help
Unless they've been bought too. I'd just put everything on hold til the DRILLER IN CHIEF takes office in a cpl weeks. Most of that junk is getting ripped out.
You need to contact your sheriffs office. They should write some tickets.
Its THAT simple, laws are in place already. We elect Sheriff's, not police installed by blue haired. The ticket is the golden ticket that simply starts the war. The burden of proof will be theirs. Altering land to drain onto adjacent properties is a no-go.
If people wouldn't work for these companies they would be in business.
I been saying that!
Put some "pressure" on the individuals then.
Trump’s in office they’ve got no government funding anymore for any of it so it’ll all come to a screeching halt
Yep!
Call idem they have a stroke if I don’t have silt sock around the houses I build
Report to the DNR. Take soil and water samples and get them tested. They could be pumping contaminated water and soil.
They've been bought out of the way...in Wisconsin anyways.
Pollutants plastics, and how many rare-earth elements mined with ChInese, etc slave labor. "Green" energy is 100% SUBSIDIZED LIE!...Furthermore: END THE FED!...support Ron Paul Foundation for Peace and Prosperity!
Solar farms are a waste of necessary resources.
So why don’t they construct a sediment pond to hold the liquid
A settling pond? It'll still leech but yeh...extra cost. It might be too much effort n time to pull a pond permit, bigger than a duck scrape.
That is bull💩. Keep raising hell.
