I attended a Clapton concert in the mid-70s, around the time of the 461 Ocean Blvd album. Eric, despite facing some challenges during the show (e.g., being propped up by a few folks on stage so he could finish a song), concluded with this number that I had never heard before. A few weeks later, I asked my mother thinking it sounded like an "old" tune. She confirmed that it's actually from the 1930s. This is a more mellow reworking of the song but I guess it's quite dear to Clapton on some level because he's still playing it 50 years later...

Es wird eit für die Rente, die Stimme hat nach gelassen und die Solos sind nicht mehr so flüssig, diese Tour noch und dann ists aber gut, veröffentlicht lieber alte Pibk Floyd Shows oder Videos, aber nicht noch eine Tour

You can't please everyone. Some will love this version, and some will reject it. You can't blame David for trying something different. I personally prefer the original version to this one.

As a huge Pink Floyd fan and musician who played their songs many years ago this is nothing short of embarrassing. I will cop a lot of flack for saying this but there comes a point when it is time to call it quits. And for David G this time has now passed!

Sorry, but i'm not convinced par this new version of the song. As much as the 1973 one was gut-wrenching, this one frankly lacks relief. To be honest, I found it soporific. I understand David GIlmour wants to take a fresh look at this old track but, for me, I find it's not very successful.
