A great video! Thank you for your sharing on this race, since I am not very familiar with trail races in Vietnam! From your video, I've learnt a lot how was the race routes and the CPs!
Thank you so much alex, your wife and dog for supporting this event!
my dog Blitz was very happy to support you all!
What shor u wore to dinner?
Congrats Alex and Team SG! SEE YOU IN CANFRANC!!!
Thank for share your discovery, I just finished 21km 2 times and my goal is 42 km race this year. Your distance 72 km is a race in my dream.
Dreams do come true, but only if you work at it.
iam weak ass man but this trail is what iam aming for
Keep at it and you’ll find success!!
Thanks for the review. I have this ordered in Japan
Can’t believe they still have not exported it to the rest of the world, it’s a shame coz it’s a great fast training shoe.
Congrats bro....nice and informative video👍🏻
Thank you so much 👍 You wanna do the race?
A bit like channel 8 kung fu drama 😂
Brilliant. Well done.
Thank you!
Hung Wei Low. Thank You.
Our pleasure!
Great video post-200km. In your experience, is the S4 true-to-size? I'm a US9 in the Superblast and Novablast 3. and a half-size more, US9.5, in the latest Sky Paris. Which size do you think should I get? Thanks.
It runs a little narrow, I had to size up 1/2 size. In your case a US9.5 shld be better.
Alex I was so happy to see this video from you. I remember spending time in the race and cafe with you.
Oh yes it's you! Congratulations on your UTS 50 and very nicely done video, I enjoyed watching it! Pls give me a text when you come to Singapore again, you can find me at facebook.com/alex.tan.3950178/
Haha I was right next you on the second big climb well done 👏 very tough race wasn’t it 😮💨
Haha nice to “see” you again! Yes 2nd climb was especially tough, sun was blazing hot! Did you have a good race? And did you enter the summit cafe?
@@Asiansharkproductions no I didn’t need any water at second summit 😥 I had an issue just after 1st aid station though I ran into that low branch in the woods and got knocked out 😣 managed to get going again and finish just i was just ahead of you up watkin on the video 😝 I don’t remember much of that climb 😮
Ooh hope you recovered well from that knock! I have full respect for everyone who skipped the summit cafe, such mental strength!! 😀
@@Asiansharkproductions I always carry a lot of fluid i needed a good top up at station two 😝 I struggled on Moel badly that’s where u went past me I remember I finished in 13h30 i was very poorly at one point think I was concussed 😝 when I saw the bull 🐂 thought I was hallucinating 🤪
Great video! I’m very proud of you for completing this exceptionally tough race 🥰 John and his friends enjoy watching this video too and they said “congratulations & well done to you 👏🏼👏🏼🎉
Thank you mum!
Awesome video Alex! Glad you managed to run pain free 🔥 Smashed it 🎉
Thank you 🙌 Congrats on finishing UTS 100 too!
@@Asiansharkproductions ❤️❤️
What kind is that lace?
Caterpy laces, they’re awesome! No need to tie shoe laces again. caterpy.us/
💪💪💪
Well done 👏🏼👏🏼 你係得嘅 👍🏼
The sobg i hear: bitch wtf
Can we consider this as a super trainer that can do it all kinds of run?
Personally I would put it in the racer/fast workout category. It’s too firm and propulsive for easy runs, but I’ll happily use it for any race 42k and under.
@@Asiansharkproductions the sizing they said it’s to narrow in the toebox. I’m in the middle of wide to 2E wide so true to size will be snug for me?
“I don’t heel strike,” while showing footage of himself heel striking every step? Good review overall though. Would love this in my rotation since I’m an ASICS fan and I like they extended the outsole on the heel.
Looks more like midfoot strike though, esp if you compare with Esther who’s a heel striker. Glad you like the review!
Agreed, this is not heel strike. It is Mid foot strike.
Nice view vietnam 🎉❤😊
It really is!
Wow, I never heard of those shoes before, but I'm a huge fan of asics since I bought magicspeed 3, and superblast. I even can grab a pair of imported S4 for the same price as local magicspeed 3. Sooooo tempting !!
Yes go try it! I’m sure ASICS fans will love it. However I think it’s very similar to Magic3, may not need to have both.
Thanks for the memories of my 42km race in 2020, just before Covid. Loved the scenery and friendly local kids . You seemed more lucky with the flowers!seems they improved much on CP food.
Oh yes the CP food was awesome!!
Hi, in terms of cushioning, how does it compare w Magic Speed 3? I heard that it's quite firm.
I’ve not tried any of the Magic Speed, sorry. This is still my only ASICS shoe for the last many years.
@@Asiansharkproductions Thks for yr reply. Is the S4's cushioning comparable to any other running shoes you've had? If so, can you let me know which Brands and their respective models.
It’s a speed shoe so cushioning is comparable to other speed shoes like Nike Vaporfly, firm and reactive. Definitely not the cushy type, that will come from daily trainers.
@@Asiansharkproductions Thks. Noted about the comparison w VFly.
Hey Alex, I remember seeing you on the race. Beautiful video and congrats on the race and bday! This is Scott Josephson by the way, the one USA runner. 😊
Did we talk during the race? About how hot the weather was?? 😂
@@Asiansharkproductions yeah, it was warm for me for sure, coming from Minnesota. It was a fun and beautiful route though. I was in blue at the aid station and going up the hill with the dog.
I remember you, the only American I talked to! We passed each other many times during the race.
Alex, congrats for your 70K VTM finish. I said hi to you at Translantau last year. Thank you for your effort in making this video ! The scenery at Moc Chau is beautiful. I will like to race there next year too.
Hi Desmond, yes I remember you from TransLantau! Yes should try the VTM one day, recommended!
Btw Alex, almost forgot, happy belated birthday to you🎂 ! The VTM finish must be the most well earned birthday gift! See you around in SG trails.
@@desmondfung7886thanks bro
Well done 👏🏼👏🏼 I want to try cool avocado with coffee 😋
I think can self make. Add 1 cup Espresso to Avocado shake. 😊
Thank you, Alex. Great video!
Glad you liked it!
Did this shoe roomy enough for wide feet?
It’s quite narrow, wide feet try Altra
Is it true to size? Or did you size up 0.5?
It was true to size.
Great choice inspiring interview
indeed, sucha pleasure interviewing Stella! Who else do you think should be interviewed?
Love this so much! We're cheering you on, Dawn🙌
She’s still running, more than 200km done!
awesome video, goodluck Dawn
Hi, how is the stability?
I think it's ok for forefoot runners, it's broad at the forefoot. However, the heel is narrow and unstable for heel strikers.
Well done and congratulations again!! Amazing and encouraging! Love your footages!
Thank you so much, glad you liked them! Seen your video too, looking forward to see your TL140 video! All the best! Kar Yau!
Awesome job fam ✊🏾🖤 watching your video from your race last year helped me prepare for the 100km this year
Glad it helped! I’ve seen your video, awesome job in your 100k! Great video too.
@@Asiansharkproductions thank you so much fam ✊🏾🖤
Well done! I also did the 100km :) It was my first, I did the 50km the year before
Congratulations!! Coming back next year?
Congrats to both of you for a superb achievement! Thanks for sharing your journey :)
Thank you so much, best RD in Singapore!
Congratulations! What an achievement!
Thank you so much!
Well done Alex!
Thank you!
Well done!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thank you!
You did it 🎉🎉 So proud of you 🫶🏼🥰
Thank you!
Awesome!!!
Thanks!!
Congratulations 🎉 I finished the race too 😊
Congratulations to you too! How did you find it?
Alex!...Congrats ! So happy you have finished your 2023 Jeju 100k revenge....have a good rest😂
Thank you! Congrats on your finish too. Happy to meet you in Jeju!
Wow, I need info on that shorts, what are those? They look so 🔥🔥🔥
Shorts are from Lululemon haha
Thank you for your sharing! The decision of always safety which is very important.
You are very right, safety is always more important. The race is always there waiting for you to return. I’m returning to do it in 2 days time! Of course there will be another video after the race.
I’m doing the marathon this year. What is the terrain like? I do road marathons and just wandering if road running trainers will be ok for this?
The terrain is very runnable, mostly along the river and not too hilly. Road shoes should do you well. I don’t remember it to be muddy but depends on UK weather isn’t it.
