Emergency sewer call and arrived to clear line
My tub spout versus the new chateau kit seems pretty close, think i could cut the cutouts a little high and move the valve up a bit? Im assuming i can redo the spout connection and add some space between the two
I have cut the hole up height instead of center I have the bottom of the template to line up with the holes
@GeorgeThePlumber gotcha makes sense, thank you
Good job. Nice video! Your leak test though wasn’t 100%, unless you put plugs on both the tub spout and shower pipe.
@@Bbbbbbbbbbb-f1w in this video I kinda jumped the gun and did end up taking the plate off and testing

@@wigum12 came out good thanks
do those really work?🤔 they 20yr warranty but i have never heard of them until recently
@@wigum12 I initially installed one in my home and used for about 6 months before selling It’s doesn’t make the water soft it just changes the way it sticks to plumbing and with a black bathroom I’m happy
Is it connected to an engine?
Yes it hooked up to me jetter
@GeorgeThePlumber what engine is it?
@ Honda GX 690
Hi george. Where can i buy that case for thr cable?

Do you use a permanent marker on the tile and you cut it out? How much does this job cost and what area?
Yes permanent market and range from 1100 to 1800 New Jersey
@@GeorgeThePlumber thank you sir
You deserve more money
Definitely
If it is really tight, I would turn the angle stop down. Gives you more room.
When I cut it back it clears the handle
Nice work! Lots of valuable information...Thanks a bunch!!!
Good to learn

Cool! Where can I buy one of those solder shields?

Never seen that before!
I'm not a plumber. But I just installed a garbage disposal in my shower. I now save so much time in the mornings😂
Haha
can that nozzle cut sewer roots
Yes but not real big ones for that I switch to 3/8 hose and bigger wharthog nozzles
nice
How does he avoid turning the valve to toast? Wouldn’t you at least wrap the valve with a soaking wet wash rag? Pex would work even sharkbite?
@@alancastle3917 the body is brass and don’t need to wrap it with wet rag I don’t use sharkbite what so ever and when a house is copper I put back copper
You’re going to create mold conditions , wetting the wall that much !! And from the looks of it . There was already some blacking on the paper , which may be black mold .
@@theantichrist4267 I don’t see any mold in the video and it’s not a lot of water it’s just enough to not create a fire
I like those wall braces to hold gas pipe. What are they called. I cant find them anywhere in my area. I need 1/2" , 3/4" and 1" to keep stocked on my van. The ones i have are ok but i lije those ines better your using
Called wall plates and split ring hangers 3/8”

What kind of cutter head is that?
3” root saw
do you have to add oil to this shaft
Yes I do
@@GeorgeThePlumber what's the process do u have 2 take it out of the cover
Lol thats a clunky looking conversion kit. Should have just updated the valve hardware.
It’s a great option to give the customer the safety of pressure balance and scald guard The old valve doesn’t provide that
What a great way to guarantee that the pipes will be clanking in the winter and they’ll have to call you to fix it. This is a horrible way to replace that valve.
Really I do so many of these and never went back for clanking pipes
What was this for?

Galvanized? Really? I’ve never heard of that. I think some parts of the country (or world) do things differently but I don’t know all the reasons why. I’ve never seen gas in galvanized. I’ve never seen gas in copper either but it’s common to have propane in copper. In my area we rarely use any metal for water even. We have some of the best aquifers in the world but our water will eat metal. Anyway that sounds strange to me and I have a contractors license for mechanical and gas. I might ask on the FB group. Thanks.
At one point it was not allowed here but it saves me on painting
Why not just cut out 6 square tiles instead of cutting out an oval shape.
Not to inconvenience the customer and they have the shower back same day
Good work
With the Pex pipes, this transition could have been done faster without doing all that soldering with Cooper, time consumption was too long, with Pex, probably only 15 minutes, I must admit that you did a good job but with the new products on the market (Pex with sharkbite system is less time and quick installations
If the home had pex I would have used pex but sharkbite that’s a hard no All are home are copper and with that minimal space I’m working find copper in the easiest I have even pressed them but took longer on the install Time frame for install soldering is just over a hour
Rock on brother!!!!
Thank you
That’s what I was wondering. Code enforcement has required us to paint and I’m a terrible painter and I’ll get paint everywhere. It’s easier for us to pre paint a few days ahead and touch up later. We are still threading but thinking about doing this.
That’s why I use galvanized
Is it ok to paint the black iron before pressing it? Or to press it after painting?
No need to press to bare metal
No vheck for leaks before putting the cover?
Water leaks always
Ill be looking into these for sure
They make a awesome indirect heater
In USA you can be in big trouble if you’re doing under professional business license
How I’m in NJ and a licensed plumber how would I get in trouble
what all systems do you use? Also, can you patch an offset? I know you can’t correct the offset but can you patch in an offset without damaging the equipment?
I use the source one kit and pipe line The RIDGID can do offset and bends
@@GeorgeThePlumber you got a lot of pipeline equipment! Is that all for spot repairs?
@@anthonyalegria4695yes
@@GeorgeThePlumber would you say overall the Rigid is the best?

He actually likes to come to work
Bruh just take it apart and clear the gunk out, that's gonna clog right back up.
Almost all these are soap right in these cheap stoppers
@@GeorgeThePlumber yes that's part, the other part is hair. Effectively what you're doing is blowing out the soap scum but leaving the hair in place. It'll last way longer for your customers if you just undid the pop up and the trap and flushed everything into a sink pan below.
Why you don’t use a pexi plex
What’s plexi plex
@@GeorgeThePlumber an alternative way to do plumbing. Less complicated. No welding just clamped.
@@marcoestrada2714I do press them in but found takes longer trying to layout to fit ring jaws in there
The cutoff tool is really nice. I gotta get those too. Less mess and cleaning.
Way less dust
what the price for a job like this with materials
