TRANSFORMING My 3000GT Interior! | Steering Wheel Install
I didn't upload last week, didn't have anything to install on the car, however I just picked up a VR4 so I have my work cut out for me. I've had this short hub sitting for my car for over a year now, and finally got a wheel to install with it. Honestly should've work towards getting this installed sooner! The interior is amazing now, I just need to get an alignment now haha.

I delete my cruise control and throttle box in my 3000GT. I didnt think it would make much difference, but the pedal is way lighter, and rev-match/heel-toe downshifting is way easier and responsive. So I tried to get new hub and bearings but they don't make any for my car, so I had to buy just the bearings themselves and it was a hassle trying to reuse the old hubs, I also replaced the wheel studs which allowed me to use my new set of rims as-well as a new set of lug nuts. Today I show how you can get more low out maxpeedingrods, this works for most cars that use bushing style top hats. I used the oem top hats on the coilover at first but it only provided a minimal change in height. I then found out you can use oem 94-97 Honda accord top hats to get 2-3 inches of more low. Not the ugliest cars ever but Ive had the unfortunate experience of having to actually fix these. You couldnt give me one. Ill just say there are too many good reasons you dont see them on the road anymore.

Yeah, they’re a 7/10 on difficulty working on them (if its a VR4). Have patience and be optimistic, it’ll be worth it in the end. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing the results of your efforts and telling everyone “I did that!” . Ganbare, bro 👍.

People forget all these old engines need rebuild and fresh gaskets and seals. It is recommended but it can be tricky to get all the parts and find someone that knows how to do it blindfolded
The first engine that I pulled out of it, the previous owner slathered rtv all over MULTIPLE old gaskets 🤦♂️
@@3kzack Bro I feel your pain. I'm replacing all the gaskets in my car while I'm in the process of changing the timing chains, and literally every gasket was factory original and full of some cheap caulk or silicone.

I have a vr4 legnum 😂😂. Broken gearbox x4. Transfer case or diff x 7 motor x3. Rear diff 😅 move to lsd just because 😂. Been sitting in a yard for 6 years now.😢 Maybe next year I'll get back to her. Depression sinks hard for some, always check in on yay mates.

@3kzack 6a13 tt is and can be a strong and reliable motor even at 400hp atw. But if you bash on it like most of all cars itl brake. The 6g74 is again a very strong motor. Haven't seen one brake, not to say they won't. And are you talking OEM bottom end or modded or or or ... ... How you treat things makes a very big difference. Had I treated my vr4 nice instead of attempt to be a MADMIKE then my vr4 would be like ya Nana's Toyota Corolla. Half a million kms and a badge from the manufacturers to show the long life of my car. Same for tires. Iv seen coopers tires make 100,000kms iv seen the same model tire make less then 10,000kms. They were off road tires . I'd add women but let's not trigger 90% of the world.🤣
1. Parts are really hard to find sometimes cause Mitsubishi discontinued a lot of stuff, better to own a VR4 over an SL 2. Parts are really expensive because they are difficult to find, for example the LCA for my SL was $700, bolts and nuts to hold it on were $145 3. Although the engine isn’t that bad or unreliable, it’s old and it’s recommended to rebuild or refresh along with the other things
1. yes parts are hard to find, however i dont agree with buying a vr4 over an sl. youre going to pay around the 15k range for a decent vr4 that runs and drive vs 800-2k for a clean sl that runs and drives. 2. its insane that whoever sold you those parts (LCA and bolts) got away with that pricing.. ive boughten all 3 of my 3kgts for under 1500 each. my first being 1500 running and driving with no issues, the second being 800 for shell with clean interior, the 3rd being 800 for a running and driving car with a shot interior. so the fact you paid the price of another car, just for LCAs and bolts is insane. 3. i agree. they are not unreliable. just not taken care of. i daily mine and do uber eats in it. any issues i have are common to all other 30+ yr old cars. the parts can be pricy (sensors like tps/maf/iac) but with some due diligence and searching around, you can keep these cars on the road for very cheap. but to circle back to the first point, a vr4 is significantly harder and more expensive to maintain and keep on the road.

I’ve owned two g35s, rev up and non revup. I pulled apart the revup. Very stupid and over complicated design. Both of them shot rods out the block from a bad oil galley gasket.

I had to replace my steering rack when I first got the car and I remember it sucked. I know when my ps pump went out it was pretty hard to turn wheel, especially when barely moving.
My first 3kgt the pump was whining like crazy when I bought it. I moved the car one day to work on it and take off the power steering belt, and the reservoir literally exploded. I took off the belt and never looked back. I wouldn’t mind running an electric steering column or something of the like, but I hear people saying it can wear out the rack prematurely.
Funny with the cutting edge technology the 3s had for it's time they ended up with a 5 lb eye sore for a cruise system. What wheels do you have on that car?

You have air in the cooling system and that’s why you have over flow issues , you need to properly bleed all the air out of the cooling system
@@romainehenderson1876there wasn’t any air in it, I haven’t had any issues with the new setup. The old tank just had a crack in the lid which is why it kept overflowing and overheating.

@@viangualgrongnarksyth5526 I appreciate it, the driver side was redone by previous owner, it’s soft. The passenger side and the backseats are hard and crack/rip easily, I will be getting them redone in the future
