    Trump increased the US debt 8 trillion in his administration. He has no reason to control spending and will cut taxes on his billionaire doners. Think you just voted against your own best interests.

      Most of Trumpe spending happened under COVId which was a 1 in 100 year event. Also, the treasury balances tell a completely different story as to who spends more.

    Why be worried? When the price of gold falls, that’s a good thing! Means the economy is growing. Gold is a hedge against risk. Not an investment (which earns profit based on risk). It pays no dividends. Just sits there. Costs money to store. And when it’s time to sell, you have to haggle with some guy who wants your money more than your gold. I own gold, but not as an investment. Only as a hedge. 5% of my assets.

      @ that’s because they treat it as an investment. My other problem with any asset are sales commissions. That seems to kill any investment. I have a Vantage S&P 500 fund. $49 a trade no matter how much your trading. $100,000? Still $49. Fees on gold sales are criminal. Gold is a nice hedge however.

    The gold is not linked to dollar strength because we saw both of them rising up side by side during last period. The main reason for bull market for gold was wars and uncertainty about the election but both of them almost vanished

    • @commonsensefinance11
      @commonsensefinance11 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes you’re correct. Historically though, Gold typically moves inversely against the US Dollar Index. This time has been different though and that relationship appears to be breaking down due to the “fear factor”(wars, etc. ) as you mentioned. I expect we will see more relationships like this break down in the future due to loss of confidence in the US dollar. Thanks!

    The US debt problem could be solved by reinstating the tax structure of the early 1970’s when the US was truly great. A time when the wealthy paid much much more than they do today, yet much less than the average citizen as a percentage of income. Big money in politics and a captured media has taken those with $100’s of millions and more with little to no taxes. Change this and the problem is solved. Your welcome.

    • @commonsensefinance11
      @commonsensefinance11 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The debt problem can’t be solved by taxing the rich more. For one they simply don’t have the money to pay for the massive debt. Also, if they get taxed more heavily, there will be capital flight and theg will invest more overseas. It’s a nice idea in theory, like communism, but in practice it won’t work.

    • @Petethehun
      @Petethehun 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ With the Republican’s back in power, the stock market is going to rise. But for how long. With stagnant lower and middle class wages and none of the increased technology induced productivity, wealth is transferred to the ultra rich. Less and less products can be purchased by the population resulting in more and more Billionaire wealth not having anywhere to invest in. Money will look to leave the US but this rot is world wide. In years gone by South American countries ultra rich could take their money to invest abroad, leaving their citizens dirt poor…. Not so much in the world wide dystopian future that awaits us all. Climate change is another fate to starve the population….

    • @tundrajt
      @tundrajt 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have said it for years - the key to solving the tax situation AND government spending is to implement a national sales tax. Every dollar gets taxed maybe 15%. Everyone pays the same thing for taxes - there is no cheating the system. In accordance, government spending must be reduced to fit within the revenue generated from this sales tax. Finally, eliminate most taxes on the individual - income, property, capital gains - everything! By doing this, it solves the whole “why do the rich pay less taxes?” argument AND prioritizes where government spending goes. You’d be surprised how effective this could be if implemented…

    Without getting too wordy here I agree with your statements (for the most part). The US has taken a big hit in the last couple of years. We have come out weaker, divided and easily manipulated. The country is loosing its place as the BRICKS gain the small piece of influence we abandon.I have had several people I correspond with oversees ask me what the hell is going on here.When regular Joe's (our allies) are getting nervous and feel less safe.... there is a problem. Hate me for saying this, but I hope the new administration makes better choices then the last. We have had grandpa falling asleep in his chair while the kids are spending his retirement. I have a 1099 job w a friend and get paid once a year, end of December. So every year I try to buy 1oz gold and stash it. I'm not sure if I am going to do that this year. My parents (mom especially) asks me to grab her something if the price goes down-she says, "get some for me and I'll pay you-" so I try to watch it. I may get some more Mercury or old Roosevelt dimes soon. I try to grab it when it "goes on sale" but also once a year. I used to be able to get the old ww2 nickels in 2016-2017 for way cheap. Now, everything is up. Happy I got what i did when i did, but still hoping we get more small dips.

    Let me tell you, silver and gold is as useless as lead during a power outage after a hurricane. I am in Augusta Georgia after Helene came through we are destroyed. No one knows what to do with gold or silver. I am a silver stacker. No one would trade any thing for silver even just doing work. Stores wouldn’t take any. Coin shops where closed, banks where closed. We were without power for 12 days. FEMA was useless. Luckily I had keep some cash in the house, it all gone, but we done ok. I love stacking and will continue for inflation reasons, but it’s all just useless during a hurricane recovery. Keep some case at home.

    I practice the "Rule of 3" in May aspects of life. For a power outage on the scale they are seeing in Florida at the moment. 1. Assume 3 days of supplies should be in your home at any given time. 2. $300 In cash for emergency... no power then that credit card and tap payments won't work. 3. Assume 3 weeks for service to return properly - the various trades are out trying to sort it out but, unless you live near a Hospital or such... you could have sporadic power/water supply for a few weeks. Gold nice to have if you can afford it. Silver is in reach of the majority of people, a 1oz Silver Coin will but you the essentials. Not many places can or would break a 1 Oz Gold Coin.... FYI, look up the Rule of 3. 3 is 2. 2 is 1 and 1 is none. Always have a plan, a back up plan and a back up to the back up.

    • @commonsensefinance11
      @commonsensefinance11 หลายเดือนก่อน
