In this live 1954 recording from the L'Abbaye cafe and nightclub in Paris, L'Abbaye owners Gordon Heath (1918-1991) and his partner Lee Payant (1924-1976) perform.
Heath and Payant played American and French folk, gospel and blues songs at L'Abbaye, one of the scores of American-run cafes, bars and cabarets established in postwar Paris.
There are extensive notes on the reverse side of the LP jacket (including a commentary by the late Art Buchwald).
