XJR1300- How to install exhaust end cap conversion
มุมมอง 87K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A guide to removing the old baffles from the XJR mufflers and installing 42mm end caps. These can be bought on Ebay and some aftermarket websites. I recommend buying a new heavy duty 5mm drill bit for this job. Aluminum rivets are easy to put in- Stainless are tough and only use if you have a heavy duty rivet gun. Note this was done on a 2003 model. The models from 2004 on wards have a weld at ...

A short edited video riding the GB500tt at night through Courtney place and Terrace tunnel (Wellington New Zealand). Using 2 original Gopro's and one Hero black edition 3 . The Hero 3 noticeably better in picture quality and sound.

Honda GB500tt on the back roads of Wellington New Zealand. Filmed with a GoPro Hero3 Black Edition. I was surprised at the quality of audio. A big step up from the older GoPro's. You can hear the true sound of the GB. Enjoy!

HI, I have just bought this exact bike from Rose CIty cars. Any history on the bike you can share? thanks
Hi, not really. Was running great when I had it. The Xjr's are pretty bulletproof. It was quicker off the mark than the xjr1300 I'd had previously.
Where do you buy these end caps?
Try this site. www.xjr-tuning.de/artikel/1601/Auspuffaenderung-fuer-Seriendaempfer-38-mm.html
Thanks for this ! It’s an « emmalex »conversion ? In 38 or 42 mm ? Thanks
Brill video thanks ! Please can you tell me where to get the end caps?
Hi. trying to find end caps. Can you please help me.
My dad had one of these, the red colour. It was around '88-'89 he rode it from Auckland down to dunedin to visit. Mum still has the photo of me on it, i was 8 or 9. Ahh the memories. He also had a black bmw r80, and 2 cb 750's, one blue and one red. Naturally i love bikes too, ive got a '91 FJ1200.
Perfect comparison video 👍
Мне стандартный нравится)
Top of the Remutaka Hill Road 👍 Great road for a blast on the 1200
This bike seems fimiliar.... I love it!
Hello Lecram, Since 4 weeks a go I have a XJR 1200 '97. I like the great sound after using the end caps. Have you the dimensions of the end cap? Or will you send me 2 end caps? Kind regards Jeron.
Hi, sorry, I don't sell these. I bought them on e-bay over 5 years ago. Just made the video for fun while I installed them. Wish you good luck in finding some. I have since bought a Moto Guzzi V7, and am enjoying the V twin sound!

What a great video man!!
Thanks. I just put together what I'd like to have seen before doing the conversion. - Have long since sold the XJR.
did this modification affect the engine temperature and dynamics? I put a straight-through muffler and the engine started to warm up due to a lean mixture causing such a muffler.
Didn't notice any difference
Not the stock exhaust!
As it says in the description - "Cycle works exhaust system".
@@videobylecram7967 nice i put them on my XJR 1200 too
🔥🔥🔥👍
Thanks for this. Just did mine. Very pleased!
Excellent bike.
Nice cruising 🏍️👍☀️
Easy to see, easy to understand how. Thanks for this. Deano.
Very good idea of how to see/ hear the mod. Cheers, Deano.
Very nice👍
Is there any for sale available?
Rocking horse shit mate
Top speed is very optimistic, I would put it in 228kmh. Did you change the transmission ratios.
Where do you get these conversion parts? looked on the net and cannot find anyone selling them.

@@videobylecram7967 so they just pull out then.. look simple to weld them up.. with a slightly bigger dia again & longer tube.. for just a little more rumble.. cheers for this from PNth th-cam.com/video/6-hWGG6tQNA/w-d-xo.html

Just starting to rebuild two GT 750s love that colour...... beautiful bike fella 👍
Actually sold this a couple years ago. I loved the sound of the GT when it hit its powerband around 6000rpm. I'd definitely buy another if the right one came along.
Beautiful bike. th-cam.com/video/XQ-8rdMkE5g/w-d-xo.html
Here the sound of my old xjr 400r th-cam.com/video/XQ-8rdMkE5g/w-d-xo.html
Hello! Thanks for the video! I have done the same job in a marving exhaust and the sound is great. But i think that they are now completely opened. With more sound than yours... do you need to change filter or carburation? Thanks
Hi there, with mine I never had to to get any carb tuning done.
Nice
Thank you for idea ;D
Very nice
With those mods you would better changing the standard cans and collector box, Delkevic collector your choice of cans. Best colour and year model 👍
Yeah maybe one day if funds allow..
Had one these in 84. Bought new for $4200 on rode. Ahhhh....the memories.
This would have been my dream,if I only had known it. Ihad a Z500 and kept it while getting a Z1300 340 Kg I kept the Z1300 because 10Liter@100Km at least and it's one thing swimming with a light boat or with a tank. I put the Z 500 4,4-7,2Liter/100Km back on the road and enjoyed the agile swimming with her. A friend had a Z900 wich swam too and also my 2'nd Z500 I mad ~25-30KK per year and I really wanted some more Power (as a daily driver...) 2Front 3 rearwheels and 2 chainkits per year. How much HP does the GT750 have? I was about to get me a new Bandit 600. Still chain yes. But 78HP is the Insurance step in Germany. 34HP 50HP 78HP 100HP and above. But dumb me I listened to the salesman. He said: "It's only 1000€ more to get the 1200Bandit and when you sell it you take the profit". Thought he was right. Nope. People don't pay standart price on an offer. And the nude 1200 Bandit was no fun. I drove it with Dynajet kit,Bos Carbon exhaust,Steelflex breakes. It had 138HP at the wheel.- *T O O M U C H* Fuel economy was great! 4.5-8Liter/100Km ! ;-) If the Bandit would have used both wheels I might have kept her. But having the front wheel so often and much up in the air.... nope no fun. Your bike would have been my dream. Tell me how many Horses did it have? Did you drive in winter&snow? How was the swimming part? Did you earn captain's license? I know that the GPZ 900 had a good motorcycle chassis. No more swimming ;-) CU!?
Can you still get those end caps?
Sorry just saw this question. Looks like this guy is still selling them- www.ebay.fr/itm/Embouts-echappement-emmalex-YAMAHA-XJR-42-mm/112818605835?hash=item1a44834f0b:g:~tEAAOSwLjxahqQp
Owned one from new, one of my fav bikes and those 80's gauges are the best
I especially love the auto cancel on the indicators. Why modern bikes haven't done this beats me.
Hey buddy, nice road trip vid. Was this the bike on Trade me a while back? Is it still for sale?
I sold this bike a year or so ago. The next owner has had it for sale again and used my video. Great bike. I spent quite a bit on the scrambler style guards and indicators + tail light which he didn't mention in his listing.( Not shown in this vid) I had it spotlessly clean, never rode in the rain. Who ever bought it has a great bike. I've moved onto a much bigger xjr1300 now though.
Oh right. I'm looking at another Honda CB400SS in Upper hutt. I was wondering what your opion is on the model since you've owned one before? I've been told to steer away from the model as they have been imported and are single cylinder. Cheers, thanks.
thunderwing2 The cb400ss is basically an xr400 big single motor. Super reliable. Very simple being air cooled and only one carb to worry about. I don't know why anyone would advise against. Being imported is no big deal. If it's in good condition, clean with no rust then I would say go for it. Another great bike in this category is the GB500 or 400. Very similar motor. Heaps a torque for a small bike and just a pleasure to ride. Really I guess it's just what your into. In the end I wanted more power for longer trips and have the xjr which is still that same retro style but about 5 times more grunt!
where you buy it?
